• Hi all. We have had reports of member's signatures being edited to include malicious content. You can rest assured this wasn't done by staff and we can find no indication that the forums themselves have been compromised.

    However, remember to keep your passwords secure. If you use similar logins on multiple sites, people and even bots may be able to access your account.

    We always recommend using unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication if possible. Make sure you are secure.

That's what Misc. looks like at the moment - everyone posting garbage news stories that nobody really gives a flying **** about and couldn't possibly because they're utter crap! They're a nice little way for you and all your little friends to get a nice +1 postcount, make the place look messy, and get on mine and every other misc. mods nerves. Not bad guys really pro.

So here's the deal, no more news threads. None. None at all. Post one and you get slapped with a three day ban. We're changing the rules on the postage of such threads, but until you see a thread with those rules and a sign in size 7 font saying YOU CAN POST NEWS AGAIN LOL, no news 4 u.

Go to http://fark.com if you want weird news stories, this ain't the place.

Currently, the only policy that I'm deciding on with news, is only news that is important enough. None of that tabloid crap like some of you are still putting up. So yeah, expect a 3 day ban for posting news that's not important enough.

If this crap keeps up, expect absolutely no more news in misc. again.

Just to clarify what he means - real news stories about Potato Famine (Eat something else!!), Earthquakes in San Fransisco (learn to not build your city on a fault line!) and Hurricanes (awesome). No more nonsense about MAN TOSSES DOG OFF AND GOES TO JAIL or KID DIES IMITATING PIKACHU IN ELECTRICITY... VAN. Real news - if your news story is important to you and a number of people around you, post it. If you're unsure, message a moderator.
