Shadow in each of the top tens. How great. [/sarcasum] Tikal came out only in the 'Which Character Should Appear More Often?' question and came 9th. Mighty made it to 10th! Pretty surpirsing eh?

This poll confirms that (in order) Sonic, Shadow, Tails and Knuckles are the four favourite characters. Hardly surprising really as they have become the main characters. To be honest, I would have prefered Amy inthe place of Shadow, but she didn't do too badly so it's not to bad after all. And notice that Nack/Fang DIDN't make it anywhere?


SONIC 1 GBA
Born June 23, 1991 on the SEGA Genesis console. In honor of its beloved mascot's 16-bit roots, SEGA will release the game that started it all with Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis exclusively for the GBA this November. The game will feature two new additions to the classic 1991 debut including Sonic's famous Spin-Dash move and a new save ability.

Fans will be treated throughout the year to special 15th anniversary events, culminating with the release of three original Sonic adventures shipping later this year, as well as the original Sonic The Hedgehog Genesis for the Game Boy Advance. Sonic will make his first appearance on next-gen consoles with the dynamic new adventure Sonic The Hedgehog for the PS3 and Xbox 360 this fall. Sonic The Hedgehog melds top-tier production values with next-gen art, physics, and game design to create the fastest and most intense Sonic experience yet. Featuring brand new interactive 3D environments, Sonic gameplay is taken to a whole new level with a large cast of new and returning characters, and a blistering sense of speed. Sonic will also debut this fall on the PSP) with Sonic Rivals, a one-on-one racing platformer that also features Knuckles amongst other rivals combining classic 2D gameplay with 3D worlds. Available in 2007, a new Sonic adventure is also in development for the Wii console, combining Sonic's high velocity with the unique Wii controller and a colorful retelling of the classic tale Arabian Nights.

In addition to his video game fame, the "blue dude with the 'tude" has starred in two animated TV series, numerous comic book adventures, and an animated movie -- he's even had his own theme park and was the first and only video game character ever featured in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. But it's his video games that matter most to his legions of fans. Sonic has starred in more than 30 video game adventures, a distinction that earned him his star on the 'Walk of Game' landmark honoring pioneering gaming icons.

With the four upcoming new games, Sonic The Hedgehog is ready to blaze his way to the top of the video game world with the same speed, optimism, and brashness that set the gaming world on fire in 1991.

Thanks, now I know that #3 is Tails, I am kinda surprised, but I shouldn't be.
Nack the Weasel is dead. He was dead in a screenshot of a never released game (think Xtreme) and Sonic just left him dead even though the game was never released. At least that is what I've heard, I find that kind of difficutl to grasp, killing a great character, than never releasing the game but leaving him dead, doesn't make sense.

I liked it better when the 'Favourite character' poll ended up with Sonic, Tails and Knuckles at the top.
But in any case, I really have to question the sanity of these people voting for Shadow. I guess now we're never going to get rid of the **** :/

Though all things considered, I'm rather surprised that both Mighty and Tikal managed to clamber into the 'Characters that should appear more often' list. I guess Mighty being AWOL from Team Chaotix really did catch people's attention after all.

yeah, but if Mighty made it onto that list, then this proves that the majority of the voters aren't just newer fans who have no friggin' clue about the days when Sega made consoles and worship Shadow like there's no tomorrow. With that considered, I'm damn surprised Fang never made it anywhere on the poll. You'd think there'd be more of a demand for his return, wouldn't you?

And damn... if Tails and Knuckles are up there with Sonic and Shadow as the most popular characters, I gotta wonder why the hell Sega continually shafts them as much as they do (especially Tails, who got first place in two of those polls).

lol at Shadow being in every list. Predictable as ever. Worse still, it's top in the "Which character should appear more often?" poll when it's being shoved down our throats far too much and Blaze isn't even in the list. Gah, I really dislike Shadow. At least Sonic was the fave character.

Well since the poll was from Japan... it proves the Japanese have a different feel for Shadow then most Americans do I guess.

Umm were of two of the main characters that you can play as and was involved in the story in a recently released Sonic game. Sonic Riders? He still appears a lot so I wouldn't count them being shafted yet.

A remake of his original adventure? Now that I gotta get! Besides spin dash and to save I hope it has more? And what about Sonic and Knuckles? Will they have the Advance series graphics? Will they make the bosses harder/easier? So many questions!? This is Sonic's big 15th year!

All I simply has to say is this.

You know what would be cool?
If they redid the entire act 2 of the Scrap Brain Zone, and fix it up to how they initially planned it to turn out. IIRC, the designer's first intention was to model it as a basement to the factory, in which Sonic would have to work his way up. But due to apparant time constraints, the idea had to be scrapped (no pun intended) and instead they reused the Labyrinth background.
Infact, it would be cool if they could add a few of the features that were done away with during the games development. Nothing major, just additional sprites or objects perhaps. Like the mysterious checkered ball and the unused rabbit badnik.

Though I can easily see them just porting the Sonic Jam version of the game, and not touching it up at all.

Hmm.... well for one I hope they make the graphics to be reworked like the Advance Series.... then add some unused material as Gravy suggested...btw about the Badniks... seeing how they're used in that next gen game I wonder if they'll still stick around?

bleh... personally, I liked the Genesis sprites over the Advanced sprites. I hope they keep them. Don't know why I didn't like the Advanced graphics too much.

These are not the badniks we are used to though, these are a completely different breed.
I want Super Sonic in it, it is about the only major game in the series where he does not make an appearance (that he is the main character in anyway)
The spin dash is cool and all, but Super Sonic needs to be in this, and why not, throw in Tails for the hell of it.

Sonic, Shadow and Amy Have super speed (track and field), Knuckles has great speed and strength (football, who is getting by a block from Knuckles) Tails can fly (basketball)
Chao and Eggman choices are just weird.

I find them choices... rather odd..... meh it works for me....

You find Metal Sonic (3 games) Tikal (1 game) Chaos (2 games) and MIGHTY rather odd, what about Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, why would those not be odd choices, being that they are in every game?

I strongly dislike Shadow for some odd reason. Man, Espio and Charmy made it into 1 of the top 10's what the croc? xD Jet should be number 1 on the most sport or whateva, he's the most competitive and yeah. He's a birdie!
