.:Soulbound:.
.:The Tale of the Soulbinders:.
Time before anyone knew what it was. The time of the world's birth. This time... where the Soulbinders were born to keep the world together as one..:The Tale of the Soulbinders:.
These creatures, these... Soulbinders, are the beings created from the raw elements of Pokémon. Each element has a Soulbinder of its own, a creature of pure myth and legend that is also a Pokémon. With that, there are fifteen of these beasts. The most pure kind of each Pokémon element flows through the blood of these creatures. They are immortal by spirit unless killed with a set of ancient weapons crafted from their own element. Those weapons will kill them spiritually unless they find refuge within some living thing...
Also, the Soulbinders can store one another's spirits within themselves. With that, so long as one retains physical form they are all safe. When they all vanish, their souls must all go to the bodies of a Pokémon from the species they represent.
It is believed that, with the spiritual death of all Soulbinders, humans would gain all power over the elements and Pokémon that fed their powers from them. That's right; all Pokémon draw their power from the veins of the Soulbinders. These beings are highly important, as you see.
.:The Tale of the SoulKillers:.
The weapons spoken of above are called SoulKillers. There is one for each element, meaning fifteen, hidden around the world. A different sort will kill each of them. Of course, though these are the only things that can kill the Soulbinders, they also keep them alive through the process of chaos. Without chaos, there is no order. Without death, there is no life. Without the weapon, there is no being. But humans don't know that now. Now, on to the fifteen SoulKillers. All SoulKillers have tainted soul energy of their element.
To kill the Soul of a Bug, you use the dagger Hirin. To destroy the soul of Darkness, use the staff Imu. To kill a Dragon, you must use the spear called Mecchi. To destroy Electrical souls, use the javelin Kir. To destroy a Fighting spirit, use the long-sword Neim. The soul of fire is bound to the orb Mikau. Flight is bound to Grio, the bow. To kill Ghosts you need the pitchfork-like staff Fow.
Grass, or the Soul of Nature, can be destroyed by Parh, the hammer. Kill Ground/Earth with the mace Uki. Shatter Ice with the whip Juy. The soul of Poison is bound to Bri'ma, the whip-chain. The power of the mind can be destroyed by Kanah, the club. Metals that are not rock or Earth, the Steel element, can be killed by the scythe Kori. Lastly, the soul of Water is bound to the double-bladed sword Mure.
.:The Tale of Legends:.
It can be easily wondered after finding out about Soulbinders about the role of Legendary Pokémon. The Legendaries are the rulers of their element, controlling it and bending it to their will. They keep the harmony among the elements as well through regular meetings and conferences. In this particular case, the powers of Ground and Rock are one, and the element "Normal" isn't called an element. Pokémon of this type are called "Typeless." They follow whatever Legend that they choose, element being a non-issue for them. With that, I should assume you know the tales of Legendary Pokémon..:The Plans of Humans:.
Humans have always been power-hungry. As such, the very thought, the very rumor of power over all elements from the destruction of the Soulbinders was far too much to resist. They relentlessly searched for "heroes" to go and search for the Soulbinders. Of course, they also searched for the SoulKillers just as much. They had limited knowledge on each of the Soulbinders, but they endlessly questioned village Elders, Shamans or Storytellers, anyone who could know something about the Soulbinders. One by one they found the Soulbinders, killing each physically. They did not know where to look for SoulKillers, nor did they ever find them. In truth, each of these was hidden with the Ruler of their element, the Legendary Pokémon of that kind. Nonetheless... the "heroes", or Briash, translated to "Heroes bound to Death" in an ancient dialect. They truly thought that they were gaining sheer power over the elements they destroyed...
They were right, mostly. So long as one Soulbinder remained, however, the others would live on within it... So the merciless slaughter continued on, each creature falling slowly. Soon only one remained, the Dragonair hydra Mikuza. She was left to be repeatedly battled, repeatedly weakened, until the final fight with the last Briash, Lancier.
He advanced on her, summoning a Ninetales and a Salamence. The Ninetales, however, had to be bound by chains, for it was not loyal. The Salamence was loyal, but he was summoned for spite against the Soulbinder of Dragons. A fierce battle ensued. Mikuza's energy was drained; she knew that she could not remain through the whole battle. With this, she pleaded invisibly with the Ninetales, asking for protection. It understood, and therein encouraged Lancier to summon a Ghastly.
That was all Mikuza needed to send the Soulbinders to safety, sealing their protection. All at once she allowed them freedom into the ghost's form. It gladly accepted, performing its duty by carrying the souls of what was not living any longer. It was also freed from binding, to no matter of the Briash. Lancier became cocky, thinking that, with Mikuza gone, everything was under the human's power.
That is why Pokémon were taken to be workers, battlers, partners, or even slaves for mankind, because they thought that it was theirs to control with so Soulbinders attached... even if they were wrong, through media, force, or rumor, they spread the word that they were right. Few ever thought differently.
.:The State of the World:.
Now then, the world has changed much in the hundreds of years since Ash Ketchum's journeys. Over time people cared less and less about the Pokémon, reverting more and more to beastly methods. They started remembering the Soulbinders' tales, remembering that they had gained power. And as they became more power-hungry, they started to enslave Pokémon more than partner with them.At this point, there are maybe a hundred caring trainers left in the entire world, and those are slowly going. All other humans have been taught from birth that Pokémon have no feelings, that they are just tools for anything that they will to be done. Likewise, Pokémon do not teach their children bad mannerisms toward humans. Instead, they say that tales of old times are merely wives' tales and bedtimes stories.
The Soulbinders, however, know that their time for return is drawing nearer... that the souls of humans and Pokémon alike will be revived. The "generation X" has come around now, the generation from which all Soulbearers will be born. The Soulbearers are the Pokémon born to carry the spirits of Soulbinders to their own revival of souls. Once they have matured, they will know this. But of course, not a one of them has fully matured as of yet...
.:The Revival of Souls:.
The Soulbinders, as mentioned before, are awakening to revive the souls of humans and Pokémon. But first they must revive their own souls into new bodies. It takes an ancient ritual to do such, but the Soulbinders will help their "trainers" to find the incantations necessary for each individual one to return. Their revival will result in the freedom of all Pokémon that are of their element and enslaved.Once they have all been restored, the humans will also be purified and restored. The process will be complex, seeing as no humans approve of how these trainers are raising their Pokémon. This will take much time, but patience is key. It is vital that this is done.
.:The Awakening Begins:.
Slowly, one by one, the Soulbinders are affecting the humans who command their Soulbearers, and are, in a sense, opening their eyes. They are beginning to see that their world is not right, but they are not sure how to fix it. Soon enough, when the Soulbearers are mature, the Soulbinders will reveal themselves and explain why "the Awakened" are feeling these things. They will all become aware...But the chances still remain that an Awakened will not willingly change his or her ways so quickly. But the Soulbinders will continue to try, hopefully to get them with time. The Awakened will travel with the Soulbinders, who will travel within the Soulbearers. To speak, they will halfway emerge and speak words into the mind of the Soulbearer, and it will speak them through the SoulShadow. All Soulbinders can and will semi-transparently shadow themselves around their Soulbearer, visible even only to the Awakened. Any one of the Awakened, that is.
The SoulShadow will be like an illusion, but it will be solid to the Awakened. Only the Awakened and their Pokémon can see this illusion, after all. It will appear after the Soulbearer that it occupies is mature. Hopefully this will be soon enough...
.:Signing Up:.
If you wish to play in this RPG, you must fill out the following forms. I am expecting this RPG not to have anyone who uses bad grammar, or anyone who is not willing to try. I want people who can post at least a few paragraphs or more. It bothers me to see tiny posts. Thanks for listening to my rant. You will play as an Awakened, his or her Pokémon, and the Soulbearer w/Soulbinder. Enjoy the LONGNESS of this sign-up, and do your best...

-AWAKENED-
Name: Riila Hokari
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Description: Riila is a shorter-than-average girl, standing only about 5'3", but she is very slim and weighs only about 105 pounds. Her hair is dark silver with a few lighter streaks and very thick, falling just past her shoulderblades. Her skin is well tanned from being in the Cinnabar sun a bit too much. She has cool hazel eyes and a rather pretty face. As far as her clothes go she sports a spegetti-strap lavender top under a white jacket that is made to only cover about to where her ribcage ends. For pants she wears flare-bottom dark blue jeans that have holes in the right knee, just below the left knee, and one right below her butt on the right leg. She wears white tennis shoes. Also, she wears a bit of jewelry: a pair of silver hoop earrings, a silver chain necklace with a cross charm that has an amythyst in the center, and a siler stud earring in the cartlege at the top of her left ear.
Personality: Riila is quiet, but normally rather friendly nonetheless. She is good at remembering details and catching totally irrelevant bits of information from conversations. She is logical and thoughtful, rarely doing things without giving them a good bit of thought. Normally she is a bit curious about things, often thinking about why she's been having the strangest thoughts about raising Pokemon lately...
History: Riila was born and raised on Cinnibar island, training there and raising the Dragonair that her father had given her for her fifth birthday. She always battled with her friends or even tourists to give them a taste of the fire power she had from her Ninetales and Arcanine, just for kicks. She had just finished a fight with one tourist in particular who was rather strong and was putting some Potion on her Pokemon's wounds when Daleia looked at her with such an expression that it stunned the trainer. Riila dismissed this the first time, but another instance where Veri was running by her own choice made her see something different from what she had been told her whole life: a soul in those amber Ninetales eyes. Again she tried to shake it off, but it was harder than last time. Other times had the same or very similar effects on her. Since then she has been lightening her training just a little, wondering what all of these strange things mean... though she thinks it is all in her head, she can't help but wonder.
Other: Riila has the device used to understand Pokemon, but she rarely uses it. She finds it annoying.
-THE POKÉMON-
Nickname: Herino
Gender: Male
Species: Arcanine
Description: A large, powerful wolf, Herino has brick-orange fur and midnight-black stripes. His claws are stained blood red, his eyes the same eerie color. His mane is thick and glossy. There are some scars about his persona.
Personality: Herino is a dominating, ferocious character who is not afraid to voice his opinion. However, when he does this he sometimes gets a good whacking from his trainer, that is if she has her device with her. He will snap someone's head off just as fast as listen to them talk, making him a bit hard to bear.
History: At a very young age, Riila loved to explore the old mansion on the island that she called home. Normally, the Pokemon that lived there didn't bother her, but one time it was different. One fiesty little Growlithe attempted to injure her; she was able to beat it back and capture it. It was one day that she was messing around by the volcano that he evolved after finding a fire stone in some of the volcanic rock that had come from the lava from a previous eruption. Now he still hates her, but she knows that he is helpful for battling and often rides on his back across the land.
Other: Nada.
~
Nickname: Sathin
Gender: Male
Species: Swellow
Description: Sathin is a well-muscled, large-winged Swellow. His feathers are a brighter blue than most. Other than that, he basically looks like any other Swellow.
Personality: Sathin is silent almost all of the time. He doesn't ever think about a time other than now or a being other than himself. He is loyal to Riila for one main reason: if he disobeys he will get hurt. The only thing he fears is pain and fear itself.
History: On a little vacation off of her home island, Riila encountered Sathin as a Tailow. Knowing that she would need a flying Pokemon at some point so that she did not have to walk back to the ferry every time that she went on a small trip, she caught him and trained him just like any other. Since he evolved she has used him to transport her distances that she has no other (or a more difficult) way to cover.
Other: Nothinz.
~
Nickname: Veri
Gender: Female
Species: Ninetales
Description: A lean, silk-furred Ninetales. Veri has long legs and stout muscles, along with a slightly creamier than usual tint to her fur. The red tips on her tails are quite vivid; they also appear on the tips of her feet.
Personality: Veri is a dreamer, simply put. She knows that there was a time better than this and wishes it would come back. She spends most of her time thinking and wishing, living with her head in the clouds and almost never coming down to earth. However, she is a good battler and will snap to attention if it is necessary that she does so.
History: Riila always loved that mansion, even after she got older. Once when she went inside, Herino attacked a Vulpix and brought it to her limp. It wasn't dead though, and so she decided to take it in as another one of her Pokemon. The same lava stone that she found the first fire stone in also harbored another, which Veri dug up and evolved herself with. Now she is another fighter, strong and useful against most of Riila's friends.
Other: She's a decendant of the Ninetales that saved Mikuza o.o
~
Nickname: Rahi
Gender: Male
Species: Haunter
Description: A rather normal Haunter, Rahi is just a bit lighter purple than others like him. He also has fingers that appear a bit longer than others, but other than that he's completely normal.
Personality: Rahi is a bit of a joker, taking great pleasure in bothering Riila's other Pokemon. However, he has a serious side that comes forth in battle only. He's pretty friendly and fun to be around as long as you don't mind random pranks being pulled on you.
History: As if two Pokemon from the mansion weren't enough, Rahi was found there as well. However, he was found by another of Riila's friends, who decided they didn't want a Gastly and gave him to her. She trained him long and hard, like any other, and after a time he evolved. Riila tends to use Rahi against any Pokemon that is powerful against her favored fire types.
Other: A decendant of the Gastly that carried the Soulbinders for a time... I like having decendants, shush. ._.
-Soulbearer-
Nickname: Daleia
Gender: Female
Species: Dragonair
Soulbinder: Mikuza
Description: Daleia is a very long Dragonair of a deeper sapphire blue than the norm. The feathery wings that sit on top of her head are a bit of a silver color. The orbs on her tail and neck are of a navy shade and sparkle more than most. Her eyes are bright violet, like most Dragonair's.
Personality: Daleia comes across as being very broken and depressed, mostly because her free spirit has been heavily suppressed by her trainer. Always she seems to be flying on broken wings, unable to escape from the hellish reality she is stuck in. She is really a fun-loving, kind, amusing character, but there is little way for her to show this.
Soulbinder Description: Mikuza looks like a Dragonair, just a little longer and a deal thicker than Daleia. The middle of her body and the lower part are very normal, but the top is massive and supports nine long necks, each with a Dragonair head like Daleia's on the end. However, three of these heads appear a tad more masuline than the others, which take after Daleia's female form. However, with the outbalance between the dominance of gender in the heads, Mikuza is more of a female. Her minds, though seperate, are connected and think the same thoughts. In her SoulShadow, one of the feminine heads is really Daleia's.
Soulbinder Personality: Mikuza is a snappy, smart-*** creature with a huge repertoire of clever retorts. She is nearly unbearable for long periods of time, but can be rather amusing for shorter ones. She is highly sarcastic as well. Sometimes what she says is just a load of hot air, while other times it is advice to be taken. Her tone of voice determines which normally.
History: Daleia comes from a long line of Dragon Pokemon that Riila's father and so on back raised. She was given to her trainer as a fifth birthday present and a first Pokemon. Though Riila was young, she was a fierce trainer and quickly learned to stifle Daleia's spirit so that she would do as she was asked. Daleia was raised to the level of a Dragonair when Riila was about twelve. Now she is most likely her best Pokemon, but not often used because it is more fun to Riila to fight tourists with fire Pokemon from the island.
Picture: Serpentine Hydra, also here is an image I doodled up of her: Mikuza (ebil scanner)
Other: Mikuza uses different numbers of heads to make her voice stronger or weaker.
The way the legends fall:
Bug: If you use bug, I will let you have a secondary Soulbinder character. > < Unless you just don't want any extras.
Dark: Same case as using bug.
Dragon: Rayquaza, Latias, Latios
Earth: Regirock, Groudon
Electric: Zapdos, Raikou
Fighting: Lucario
Fire: Moltres, Entei, Ho-oh
Flying: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Lugia, Ho-oh, Rayquaza
Ghost: Latios, Entei

Poison: Same case as using bug/dark.
Psychic: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Celebi, Latios, Latias, Deoxys, Jirachi
Steel: Lucario, Registeel, Jirachi
Water: Suicune, Lugia, Kyogre
Notes on the legends: as little sense as some of these make, I have to fill in something. > < So you'll have to accept my thought process. EKG, Latios died, so he can be a ghost. Entei did something in that movie that made me put him in that spot. Etc and so on.
Some however, I just had to fill something in.
