There is no air in space to carry sound in our ears. But do you think that if we could hear sounds in space, it could reveal some secrets? Aliens trying to communicate with us? Any hints we could get if could only hear what was going on?

The thought seems like a plausible idea, but you have to think of the kind of sound it would be. It wouldn't be just some noise that says hello. It would be in the form of a radio wave or something like that...probably in the sound of Morse code or something of that nature...

We can still pick up certain levels of radio waves from space, allowing us to both visualize distant stars using false-color charts, as well as recieve any transmissions from alien life. Up until recently, there were entire stations dedicated to detecting alien radio waves, and they didn't get diddly-squat.

If sound could travel through space, you wouldn't be able to "here aliens" anymore than you could look into the sky and see what's happening on a distant planet. The sound would take billions of years to reach us, by which point those aliens would long be dead anyway.

Sorry but your topic is talking about pretty much the same thing that Seth had made. Whether or not we can contact aliens/whether they exist. Same ball park. :/
