I don't think they seem like they're ready to implement terrain/environment usage into the actual gameplay; if we haven't heard anything about it for D/P, I doubt it would be in Pokemon Battle Revolution. Besides, implementing that kind of feature to its fullest degree would probably easily be the most complex and hard-to-balance gameplay change in the series history.
However, we saw how Groudon's Hyper Beam affected the terrain at least visually in the one video... So strictly from an aesthetic perspective, with no effect on the gameplay, it could be cool if there are different colosseums and certain attacks have varied effects on the surrounding environments. That wouldn't be as hard to program and test.
