Spikes, Stealth Rock, and Poison Barbs

I tested out these attacks on my friend's Pearl version, and I was very surprised. They could all be used together! Wouldn't it make these attacks very unfair? 3 Spikes is already good damage, but Poison Barb and Stealth Rock, too? Stealth Rock and Poison Barb do super effective/not very effective hits, too, I think (I can't read Japanese, but I think SR did more damage to Ponyta then Bouysel). What do you think?

Since I don't have the game, I do believe that those three attacks (enfeebling the foe) can be stacked. It doesn't surprise me that D/P might not realize that one of the moves could cancel out the other, but it doesn't. It was probably intended to be like that. There are a few Pokemon that do have Spikes and Poison Spikes both in their movesets, though, and the addition of learning Stealth Rock as a TM.

Interesting i don't think it matters to much though because by the time the trap is set your pokemon would have been destroyed by your opponent

Use Rapid Spin then. Plus, poison spikes aren't too useful and are just begging for Heracross to come in and rape.

Still, if the opponent switches into a Ghost type and Rapid Spin becomes useless, it could cause your team major damage. But I get what you are saying, there are a lot of counters to it.

i think it is kinda cool that you can do this...stacking those 3 moves would be kind of an overkill wouldn't it? i mean you could have your pokemon fainted because of the long time taken to use all of them...

Yeah, very unfair. I rarely use Flying types or Pokemon with Levitate or Rapid Spin. I'm in big trouble now. Good thing I know ahead to plan my team. ^.;-​
