Spontaneous Wi-fi Problems

Hey has anyone else experienced Wi-fi troubles recently. Before this week my wifi was fine, but just recently I am unable to connect with friends who I have connected with in the past. What's really confusing is that it isn't consistent, some friends I can see but not connect with, others I can't see at all and one I can still connect with.

Since experiencing these problems I've been trying to find out why and hopefully somebody here can help. First of all I have completely ruled out a firewall issue. The error message apparently means my firewall is blocking access, but I completely removed the firewall at one point and still had these issues.

Pretty much this is what happened. I tried to connect with an American friend (from the UK) on MKDS. We could both see each other (indicated by the blue square), but we could not connect. We both searched world wide and could connect with others too. We decided to try AC:WW. I could see his town but not enter! This is weird because we have connected loads in the past. The only change at the time was that he had a DS Lite. He had transferred all his data over so technically there shouldn't have been any problem.

Today the problems continue (with other friends). I received a DS Lite today and transferred all my data over. When trying to connect to a Canadian friend all was fine. But a different American friend couldn’t my town on the gates screen. You might be thinking it could be something to do with UK/USA connections but I also tried to let a UK friend in, they could see me but not connect.

So what is going on?! As I say I have connected with all these people since January-no problems and it's not a firewall issue as non of us have changed firewall settings and I removed ours completely for a time.

Anyone else having these issues or anyone know a solution?

Sounds like a common case of the Friends and Rivals Glitch (Also known as the F.A.R.G.). It strikes at random times, and brings error codes, and can even prevent you from seeing friends or rivals online when they actually are.

Some think that this glitch is limited to only Metroid Prime Hunters, but it actually spans all Wifi games. You have trouble racing with friends, others can'
t visit each other's towns, and others can't go on their daily fragging spree. Nintendo is aware of this glitch, but so far, nothing has been done. For now, we all have to live with it.

I have been experiancing this on ACWW too with "Pikahound." However, I used a different DS and it worked fine, but on my DS it does not work. Strange.

It's really unusual because I purchased Metroid Prime: Hunters today and we can both connect (only on MPH's). The other games are still pretty messed up. If there is a glitch Nintendo should acknowledge and fix the mess they've made.
