Stage Fight! (092)

It irks me that they remove episodes whose sole problem, Jynx, can be fixed be recoloring her, but episodes which are genuinely hated by the fanbase, like the Kalos League final, are allowed to remain in distribution.

There was nothing controversial about the Kalos League final. Just because Ash lost to Alain does not mean an episode should be banned. I mean, come on.

Why should the Kalos League final have been banned? Because a bunch of people were sobbing over the fact that Ash lost, like he has in every other league he has been in? Do you know how stupid that sounds?

Whether you like it or not, Ash lost. Suck it up and move on already. They were never going to ban a couple of episodes just because the fans are complaining about it. Geez :/

This was the second Orange Islands episode that was removed from dvd releases all because of Jynx, which was such an overreaction. If the blackface thing was such a big deal they could've edited Jynx's face to purple like they did in Hoenn. I mean since Jynx only appeared in a few scenes here it should have been easy to fix the color of her face. Anyway, the scared Raichu stuff was fun to watch because all Raichu before this episode had been kind of overconfident and rude, so seeing a shy nervous one was a treat.

Episodes that feature characters with Pokemon problems are usually horrible and not worth the time it takes to watch them, but this was one of the rare cases where the episode worked well because we got to see the play and the voice dubbing process. I liked how we also saw a glimpse of Jynx who was usually rare in these earlier episodes and Raichu overcoming his fear of his trainer all because of the misunderstanding was a sweet way to end the episode. 7/10

Is the Kalos League hated?
Uh yes. By that logic the Alola League should be hated too (and possibly removed) because Ash won a much easier league that he shouldn't have won because narratively speaking, it made so much more sense to win Kalos.
Don't forget, the Kalos loss was extremely controversial in Japan too.

.......so because Kalos league is hated because Ash didn't win when he was supposed to
Ash should also lose an easier league as you say
Sure that's a GENIUS decision
And narratively with how Alola was to Ash, his time there, his achievements, how he bonded with that region and compared to others laid back and lived there, experienced its culture, it makes PERFECT sense for him to be its first champion, tying in with game lore. You're just salty Ash lost in Kalos, but that doesn't mean his Alola league win shouldn't have happened.

Narratively speaking only Ash and Gladion should have won because they were the only two that made the Island Challenge

Anyways...
