Stale-Mate

by Llybian Minamino

Dust reigns across the barren land
Blood pours from the sky
And as I gaze into the wasteland
I have to ask…just why?

Why do we continue to write
Such a disgraceful story
Of blood, death, and genocide
And wipe clean our consciences with glory?

Peace can not exist while war rages
Despite what our leaders say
We’re playing a dangerous game with our souls
The only way to win is not to play

I love it! ^-^ It's so sad, though. ;_;

My favorite lines are the last two. Don't ask why.

We’re playing a dangerous game with our souls
The only way to win is not to play

You're really good at writing poety. I'll say that much. But the last line. I think it would flow better if it said, "The only way to win is to not play". I don't know why. ^-^'

Great job!
