Crobat is a fast Pokemon (almost on par with Jolteon, Aerodactyl et al), with a high attack and good defenses; as well as resistances to Grass, Bug, Fighting, Poison and an immunity to Ground. The moveset for it really depends on what role you need it to fit in your team.

THE FR/LG standard is probably the best, and is pretty much the moveset described by 0mastar:

Crobat @ Choice Band
Ability:Inner Focus
Nature:Adamant (+Atk, -Sp.Atk) or Jolly (+Spd, -Sp.Atk)

- Sludge Bomb (For STAB, naturally)
- Aerial Ace (As above)
- Shadow Ball (For those pesky Psychic types, chiefly Alakazams)
- HP Ground/HP Fighting/Steel Wing (For those Rock-types :D I prefer HP over Steel Wing for accuracy, but a defense increase ican come in handy)

Basically, you CB and you're away... easy enough.

Annoyer movesets are equally viable, though I prefer someone like Umbreon for that kind of role. Besides, Crobat fills the physical sweeper role quite well, and thats where its strengths lie. While not as used as other physical sweepers (Salamence and Aerodactyl being prime examples), Crobat is worth a look.

Just a tip... you might want to avoid Haze and Curse. As aforementioned, Haze is poor on Crobat, and is decreasing in use both ingame and through the metagame, in favour of pseudohazing techniques such as Roar and Whirlwind. As for Curse, it does augment Crobat's attack and help it last longer against physical attacks, but the sacrifice in speed is not well suited to Crobat.

Well good luck raising a Crobat, and let us know how it goes! :D

edit: just looked at Nine Thou's post and realised my suggestion is on that website. :(

It isn't "almost" anything. It has the exact same speed stat as Jolteon, Aerodactyl and Mewtwo.

Well look who it is. ;D

Your post made me realise something. Crobat's type combonation makes it 4x resistant to two of Heracross' (STAB) common moves, Megahorn and Brick Break. Not to mention, Aerial Ace is 4x SE against the 'Cross, probably KOing it, which would make it a pretty mean 'Cross counter. ('Cro's Speed means it attacks with AA before getting owned by Rock Slide.) It's just a pity Skarm is so common Metagame, making Cro pretty useless. (Forces a switch should Skarm switch in.) Which really is a shame considering that everytime I've used CBbat, (Usually in my Janine themed team.) it's very effective.

Don't forget about Metagross.

I should have stated that if you choose Steel Wing for the possible defense increase and use against rock types, you should opt for HP Flying (70 base damage obviously) over Aerial Ace, seeing as how CBbat is aimed a dealing as much damage as possible.

Sorry, that was a mistake on my part. I didn't have Crobat's base speed stat to hand. I'll make sure I don't make those kinds of mistakes again...

hp flying means less hp fighting/ground so you get owned by metagross no matter what it switches into

This thread was made in the 'In-Game Team Rate' forum, and the original posters also states that he wants to train a Crobat.

Therefore, whatever movesets we recommend, you have to bear in mind that it's not for use in the metagame, where Metagross are plentiful. In RuSaE you'll only face Steven's Metagross, and the 'Gross doesn't show up at all in FRLG, and there are plenty of other Pokemon to use against Steven anyway.

I still stick by my original post (SludgeBomb, AA, ShadowBall and HP Ground/Fighting) anyway. I merely made the HP Flying point if he opted for Steel Wing.
