Standard Team is Standard

SazandoraMASTER

♥ PSG ♥
As you can see, it's a very wh0red SS team. In the past, I seen people spam about weather teams being unoriginal. I hope that doesn't happen here :p Anyways, I'm planning to use this team for a tournament next month. It's standard OU with Item Clause on.

*Note, I have no real lead in this team so the Pokemon is in order from Pokedex numbers although it will be more likely Rotom-W or Ttar as my lead.

212.png

Kneesocks (Scizor) (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 200 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
- Superpower
If you're wondering why her name is Kneesocks, click here
Anyways, this is an offensive SD set.
SD for the obvious boost.
Bullet Punch gets priority, STAB, Technician boost, Life Orb boost, max attack and with an SD boost(s), it's gonna hit anything hard.
Bug Bite for stuff that want to resist Bullet Punch as well it's more powerful than BP.
Superpower to hit Steels.

248.png

GuiTar (Tyranitar) (M) @ Chople Berry
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
Fun fact: this Ttar can take a Modest, Max SpA, STAB Hydro Pump from a Politoed from max HP and Sandstorm up. What a beast!
SR is the best move in the game so why not?
Crunch is STAB and just to do damage.
Pursuit has been tearing apart choiced Latios since I started testing this team in PO.
Superpower to hit Steels.

381.png

MakeItRain (Latios) (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Draco Meteor
Speaking of choiced Latios, I have a specs one right here.
Dragon Pulse gets STAB and just to play safe.
Psyshock for Tentacruels and also gets STAB.
Surf for other Ttars and works great against rain teams since it gets a boost so I have a good chance to hit Scizors hard.
If the opponent is going to switch on this thing, Latios will rape anything with specs, STAB, Draco Meteor.

472.png

Fanihi (Gliscor) (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Protect
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Swords Dance
Gliscor completely walls choice Terrakions, so when they switch, I can set up an SD and proceed to do some damage on stuff.
Protect to activate my TO and to recover from Poison Heal.
EQ is STAB.
Ice Fang for Latios and other Dragons.
SD to raise my attack and its really useful if you predict a switch.

503.png

Tide (Rotom-W) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 112 HP / 252 SAtk / 144 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
Rotom gets good synergy with Scizor and Ferrothorn so that's why he's in here.
Volt Switch gets STAB and most people fear the scarf so I can get some switch advantages going on.
Hydro Pump to hit anything hard since BP of 120, STAB and max attack really rapes.
Will-O-Wisp to cripple other Scizors and Terrakions or just physical sweepers in general.
Pain Split for the recovery move.

598.png

Smash (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Shed Shell
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
If you played Portal 2, you'd understand the nickname just saying.
Ferrothorn: you know what this thing does.
Spikes to set up more entry hazards.
Leech Seed to recover HP and do some residual damage.
Gyro Ball and Power Whip for the STAB move.

So please rate and all that good stuff :3

Speeding on Scizor wouldn't do much thing, because Scizor is slow.

GuiTar (Tyranitar) (M) @ Chople Berry

Good and so Standard. Why not CM'd Latios?
Latios @ Lum Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Surf / Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psychic / Psyshock
- Dragon Pulse

Pretty good I think.

Tide (Rotom-W) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate

Good. And you can replace WoW to HP Fire for those Grass type.

598.png

Smash (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Shed Shell
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)

calm mind latios is just outclassed by his sister.

His Latios set is fine as it is.

Just drop dragon pulse (or meteor) for hidden power FIRE.

maybe you can try a different water type to do fit in with scizor and ferro, try heatran or, if you want to not have more of a fighting weakness, jellicent

This standard team is quite standard. It's decent, balanced, classic, and predictable. I applaud the team, but when I say that the person who thought of it was very clever, I'm not talking about you.

Durr hurro. Long time no talk type.

I suggest using the IG Scizor spread, since the only significant threat you'll be outrunning will be Magnezone, who're usually Timid/252Spe or Scarfed. There are sometimes the odd Modest Specs set but that's too situational. 248Hp / 252Atk / 4Def / 4Spe

Latios wants LO > Specs for versatility.

I'd like to suggest Toxic > SD on Gliscor, it works well with Protect too.

Otherwise, cool team J.

Ttar's stone edge

I think it's a pretty good team, nice balance of walls, support and stuff. You might have a small problem with ice types, but apart from that, they are easily counter-able.

@TheSuperZekrom I like your suggestions and what Swagga said was true about Latios.

@darkrai's shadow The fact that Rotom-W has only weaknesses and this team doesn't have much special attackers eliminates other choices but I'll keep Heatran at mind.

@peacemaker I'll try that Scizor spread. I haven't ran into any Magnezones in a long time so best to come prepared especially when Ttar and Gliscor are down.

@Ttar If I'm able to keep Scizor, Rotom and Ferro alive, I'm okay. And thanks for the feedback :3

i can show you how
I really like the Ferrothorn set for sweeping, and yeah, standard team is standard, I don't see any harm in replacing Scizor with a Heatran though.
