Starmie or Lanturn?

should i choose?
Both are really good and i dont know
which i should choose to my pokemon

lanturn has nice coverage over its different weaknesses and i'm kinda partial to it......

Starmie is better (+Speed and S.attack), but Lanturn can resist at least one super effective hit, depends on what you need.

And Starmie moveset I used in Frontier was:

Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Psychic
Surf

If I were you, I´d take Starmie... but I like Lanturn =D

If you prefer Lanturn, then:

Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Surf
Thunder Wave

Meh. For the BF starmie, and lanturn is just a hit taking water. both way different

Lanturn's good, but Starmie's better. Starmie has better Spd. especially.

Both are good but Starmie is better. It has higher Sp.Attack. It can learn many kind of moves and... It is your decision at all...

Just as everyone else has said. Starmie. But Lanturn is good too, Starmie is more vesatile (in my opinion). But it comes down to the rest of your team. Both pokemon are different and will effect your stragedy.

Well...Starmie makes a good special sweeper and Lanturn makes a good annoyer.Personally I like both of them but I would recommend Starmie if u need a good special sweeper.Otherwise you could use Lanturn.Your choice.Heres movesets for them.

rapid spin sucks in battle frontier, because the opponent doesn't use spikes.

go with volteon or dragon_reborn's sets. timid/modest, max EVs in Spd/SAtk. TB/IB/Surf/Psychic or recover.

I would go with starmie, because its a GREAT pokemon and is capable of a BOLTBEAM combo.

Lanturn doesn't have very much staying power, but it is one of the 3 things that resist BoltBeam.
Starmie is a great sweeper though.

Anyway, psychic isn't really needed, considering poison's laughable and it resists fighting, plus recover and good sp. sweeping moves.
So yeah, psychic is basically shafted.

well, starmie's one of the best nonlegendary special sweepers, whereas lanturn's much more of a tank with its massive HP.

for starmie, use the set i suggested earlier. trying to turn it into a tank like nightcat suggests is a bad idea, because while it can take hits, it's much better at taking things out. @ petaya berry or leftovers.

lanturn, go modest, with surf/IB/TB/Twave, max SAtk, and dump the rest of the EVs into the defenses. you don't want it to roll over and die to an EQ, after all. holding lefties, again.

recover good. Twave not so good, because starmie already outspeeds things. everything not named crobat/aero/jolt. surf, boltbeam, recover. GG.

psychic is a bad attacking type, and lanturn learns surf/ice beam/thunderbolt too. and gets stab on TWO of them. it's actually a valid question, and the answer seems to be predominantly starmie, but each decision is close.

Well Lanturn's immune to Electric attack, thats something worth looking at, its also a decent tank....

Starmie can learn lots of attacks and is very fast.... so for Sweeping things away, he's grand.

It depends on the rest of your party and your likes/dislikes in the end.
