• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future

Yeah way too soon. But I'm expecting that at least this August.

Just like the gen 6 starter's second evos revealed in August 2013.

*Goes to site's archived news* Yee-ep it was September, my mistake.

It's literally 3 months away. No need to rush for.

No problem. I expect starter evolutions around September or October, heck maybe even August if they're trying to show them early.

Final evolutions I can't expect until after the game release.

We probably won't get them until October or November. The past two gens we got middle stages in the last CoroCoro before release (both were September, actually). I'm expecting the same for Sun/Moon.

These are images that were shown on Rotomdex japanese trailer. While showcasing how the dex menu works they only have the starters listed in them. One thing you'll notice is the two pokeball shape beside each of the starters. I believe their place holders for the starter's evolution lines. In which case, this has got to be the biggest clue we have to the starter's evolutions yet. Judging by how they are positioned I think these be the overall height and size of them. The farthest right must be the final. So Rowlet looks like it'll evolve into something tall, Litten's only get progressively taller but not to the same height as Rowlet, which might be implying that it might not be biped, Popplio's a bit weird. It goes from low, to high, then to low again. I'm guessing the second stage is going to be standing since Popplio can actually do that, and seeing how the third is low and far apart from the others might imply that it'll be going back to it's regular position, meaning it'll stand like a regular sea lion. Now I'm really curious how that thing would be a fighting, if it won't fully stand upright.

That's very interesting indeed.

PS: I can see Popplio's middle stage standing on a water bubble while the final form lies on it's stomach. That would match the pokeball placement.

I get what you're saying, but at the same time....I don't get it. I can see the pokeballs in different positions, but I cant wrap my head around how it's supposed to clue us into relative sizes. Could you lay it out for me? Are the pokeballs supposed to be the where the center mass of a pokemon's body will be? Or just the head? I'm mot sure how I'm supposed to be looking at it.

I'm thinking head for now. The pokeball for Popllios' middle stage seems too high for it to be center mass.

Alright, so what about the 2nd one then? Since there's two per area, if the first one is where the head would be over; what would the second be? As a side note, it looks like for both of Popplio's evolutions, that second pokeball stretches a little outside the dark blue background.

I think the middle stage is standing on a water bubble, while the final stage is low down on it's belly.

I'm really curious, why is Rowlet's title thingy in every screenshot, twice in Rowlet's own screenshot?

all the starters evolve into rowlet, rowlet is all starters

Also, I'm thinking if the Poke Ball is meant to be the head, then either:

a) Rowlet's evos are HUUUUUUGE
b) They're flying, thus increasing the chances of the Flying-Type
c) Both

But if it's centre mass, I'd wager Rowlet's evos are probably flying in the dex, primarily the final evo.

Rowlet's and Litten's Poke Balls rise, yet Popplio's rises then falls again... Maybe an indication of its middle evo posing?

I think that's just because the pics were taken mid video or something. You can watch the trailer yourself and you wont see them when the other starters are around.

I'm not too sure. if it is showing it's evolutions flying, then the pokeballs are too close together for it's wingspan. I think it's just standing with it's wings closed. In which case, it gets HUGE.

Coconut tree owl confirmed? lol. Still though, I can definitely see it going that route. In fact, that was my original prediction.

I find this rather interesting. Judging by this I would say that Litten's final evo would remain quadruped as I'd imagine a more "horizontal" Pokémon would fit in there better than a vertical one. Popplio's second "pokeball" is pretty high up but as someone mentioned here, I think some sort of ball/bubble/accessory/whatever could make it appear that tall. I think the name tags would continue along the bottom line of the screen with the Pokémon appearing above them so Rowlet's final evo could be quite tall actually.

All hail Rowlet. Rowlet is life.

Water, Grass, Fire, Electric, Ice, Ground, Rock, Fighting, Steel, Fairy, Normal, Bug, Dark, Psychic, Ghost, Flying, Poison, and Dragon. Long ago, the eighteen nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Moms Against Gaming attacked. Only the Helix, God of all Pokemon , could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years passed and my brother and I discovered the new God, an airbender named Rowlet. And although his airbending skills are great, he still has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Rowlet can save the world.

My guess is that whatever starter we get, our friend/rival would pick the one with the advantage over ours and the other starter could be a gift or some other trainer's pokemon.

Pretty sure Hau chooses the starter weak to yours.
