My guess is that whatever starter we get, our friend/rival would pick the one with the advantage over ours and the other starter could be a gift or some other trainer's pokemon.

Well, I am pretty sure Lillie will be a second rival as the player meets her early on, she stands with us when we get our starter, and she is said to be the player's age. I think you are right that the friend will pick the weak starter, which would be Hau, and I think Lillie will pick the stronger starter.

I just realized. If GameFreak doesn't care about giving us even more Psychic legendaries (Solgaleo and Lunala) when we already have a ton, then I wouldn't put it past them to make Litten's final evo Fire/Fighting, considering Delphox is way less popular than the previous Fire starters.

Delphox (or at least, the Fennekin line in general) is actually very popular in Japan, it's really only in the west that it gets heat (and even then, it's far more popular then poor Emboar is).

Also, on the note of Psychic legendaries, I don't think any of them have been as unpopular like the Fire/Fighting trend, so that's not exactly the best comparison.

Indeed Delphox is actually very popular in Japan, Greninja completely blew the other 2 out of the water and has been marketed ridiculously aggressive.

If Game Freak has a good design for a starter and it happens to be Fire/Fighting again, then yes, Litten may evolve into one. Whether it does or not is completely independent of the Legendaries being Psychic-Type or Delphox being unpopular.

These are images that were shown on Rotomdex japanese trailer. While showcasing how the dex menu works they only have the starters listed in them. One thing you'll notice is the two pokeball shape beside each of the starters. I believe their place holders for the starter's evolution lines. In which case, this has got to be the biggest clue we have to the starter's evolutions yet. Judging by how they are positioned I think these be the overall height and size of them. The farthest right must be the final. So Rowlet looks like it'll evolve into something tall, Litten's only get progressively taller but not to the same height as Rowlet, which might be implying that it might not be biped, Popplio's a bit weird. It goes from low, to high, then to low again. I'm guessing the second stage is going to be standing since Popplio can actually do that, and seeing how the third is low and far apart from the others might imply that it'll be going back to it's regular position, meaning it'll stand like a regular sea lion. Now I'm really curious how that thing would be a fighting, if it won't fully stand upright.

The evidence for it being fighting was pretty flimsy to begin with and is almost definitely not the case based on how the new types are presented on the website.

I'm still amazed by how much weight people put on that alleged type discovery, especially after the update on the 2nd which has terms listed in the coding that pretty much confirms certain features that people have been discussing endlessly.

There is a chance that the Ground type and Fighting type might not be for the starter pokemon. It could be a pokemon that is Ground/Fighting or two pokemon with one being Ground and the other Fighting. If they are for the starter pokemon then it is either Fire/Ground and Water/Fighting or Fire/Fighting and Water/Ground.

Umm....Guys, I think this might be worth discussing. Okay before you look at this, who remembers how Emboar and Samurott were leaked? It was from anime concept art, what I'm about to show is possibly the same. Though they're not that bad I mostly fear for GF if these are real.

1. If you didn't like Delphox cause it's feminine then You're not gonna like this. Popplio's completely comes out of left field. Which is why I don't completely buy these, but GF have surprised us before and they do have that legit look to them. If this is real Popps is taking the selkie route, which would make Water/Fairy, which is what some people are theorizing.

2. Oh I can hear plane tickets being bought, pitch forks sharpened, and guns loaded. I personally think it's okay and will stick to Litten being my starter, but do GF really dare make another Fire/Fighting starter even though people were pleading not to. Though some of this does match that GF creativity and with my theory that Litten would grow angrier as it evolves, and what better way to express your anger than....fight.....uh oh.

3. I have to say this one's probably the best out the bunch. I mean it's a friggin Robin Hood archer owl, that's BA. And how it uses arrows matches that GF creativity. Darn, that seems too real. Thought it looks like it'll keep that Flying typing.

Like I mentioned these are apparently anime concept art and Steven was for comparison, though they just happened to be floating around so I don't know the story behind them, but since the Gen 5 evos were leaked through the same means, I thought it would be worthy to discuss. Although I now realize these might be fake afterall, cause now that I look at the names, they are literally the same words to they're based off of.

GF has better naming than this. If this is fake then I guess the artist never expected anybody to translate the names.

Actually there is one chance of them being real, and that is fan reception. How many times has it happened when people see actual pokemon designs, hate them and say they're fake, and they end up being real? From past experiences, if people hate the idea, then it's more than likely real XD

Plus starters are gender neutral in design, Sea Lion 3 is not (Delphox is not feminin it is a wizard. Do you call Merlin, Gandalf, Dumbledore feminin because of their robes?)

That is my opinion. We should treat them as every leak and "leak" fake until proven otherwise (confirmed by GF)

I agree. This is the exact reason why I'm doubtful of these. But to play giratina's advocate, braixen is inarguably feminine (albeit it is a middle stage) and samurott is fairly masculine.

Anyone expecting a lot of click bait in YouTube about these fakes tomorrow? It's going to rake up some easy money for some poketubers.

Now that I think about it comisioning fakes to abuse a click bait or add site would be a really good business in Japan.

If those were to be legit, I'd probably jump ship from Popplio to Rowlet. That final evo for Popplio just... screams Delphox to me tbh.
