Reckless Trainer
I always loved Totodile in the anime-him and Gible are so alike
Thank you. this point came to my mind but I was having trouble wording it. =]Well, like clouds bubbles are water and air
Yeah I see your point with froakie and chespin. I was just trying to look at all the clues they have given us as and make my speculation based on them. Personally I would love to have a ninja frog, and I would hate to have a water starter with a 4x weakness to electricity. Although water/fighting or water/dark would be interesting to see, they don't sound like starter type material to me. But I'm hopeful that GF surprises me. =]
After three generations of Fire/Fighting(and the complaints of the fans that followed), it came as no surprise to me that they would type this gens fire starter the polar opposite of fighting.
Sometimes I wonder what the guys back in gamefreak were smoking after they make Pignite and Emboar in 5th gen. Were they drunk or something....I mean really.

Hariboogu reminds me of Theodore from Alvin & The Chipmunks.
The funny thing is Chimchar and Torchic, you can kind of see them going fighting type. With Tepig I think every one was convinced there was NO way it could be fighting type.
XDI think it will stay 87.5%/12.5% (or 7:1 if you like).
This is because all other starters have this ratio, even Meganium who is also quite feminine.
This is to keep them hard to breed without a Ditto, resulting in keeping the starters rare.
This is probably true when you look at the list of pokémon with this ratio. Only starters, fossils, eeveelutions, elemental monkeys, movie mascots (Zoroark and Lucario) and Snorlax are one the list, all supposed to be rare. Combee is there so few will evolve, as there is only one queen in a hive in real life.
(Where are people getting 75%/25% starters from, none of them have ever been like that?)
The 2nd time with Infernape was ok, I mean you do twice....but the third time? And as you said Chimchar actually made sense to be fire/fighting....but Tepig??? I thought it would end up Fire/Ground because Water/Ground and Grass/Ground were done...so only one remains....and I expected it to be the first fire starter on 4 legs but it turned bipedal and part fighting.....oh gf.
On topic: pin missle, rollout and mud shot...neither give hints to chespin's final type.
I know this is off topic, but still i would like to comment on it.
On one side you want (in the anime) for Ash to get a fully evolved Water type and on the other hand you want it to be like Ash's Snivy.
That's a bit crazy if you ask me because Snivy was stuck with the same 4 moves in the whole Unova saga of 140+ episode and didn't even get any significant wins for the whole saga.
for you fans of the secondary triangle out there, they could now do steel>fairy>fighting if they wanted to even up the grass<fire<water. which would support my initial theories of fennekin becoming fairy type![]()
I fell into saying this, but I will tell you now, before 10million people explode "its not a perfect triangle". And indeed it isn't. Quite obscurely (I also made this mistake) Fighting does not resist Steel, so it is not a triangle like Water-Grass-Fire.
