• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

4x weaknesses mean nothing, ever thought about Ferrothorn?

Not necessarily meaningless. There are fewer good Fire-types than there are good Water-types.

Serperior is 10'10. Pitiful that it couldn't get EQ. Hopefully all 3 can get it this time.

Height for snake Pokemon isn't height, it's length.

A standing Arbok isn't really 11 feet tall.

Froakie really is my favorite I'd have to say this generation. I really hope he doesn't get fat & stays slim. I'd really like to see his second typing either Dark or Poison.

but no fire pokemon have water absorb let alone a starter
What does that have to do with anything?

I'm saying if a pokemon has a 4x fire weakness, you can carry another pokemon with Water Absorb/Storm drain to counter the pokemon that would otherwise harm it. It would still be very strong competitively.

And there are more pokemon with Water Absorb than a fire equivalent to counter.

There are 10 fully-evolved Pokemon with Flash Fire as opposed to 12 with Water Absorb. Considering what percentage of those are commonly used, it's a negligible factor.

+ 3 more with storm drain.

4 pokemon are OU (One is Politoad with it's other ability), 3 are RU and 1 is UU. Compared to Flash fires 1 OU (who is Ninetails with it's other ability), 3 UU and 2 RU.

The point is, a 4x water weakness wouldn't be the end of the world, at all.

Most starters only get coverage through TM. Otherwise it's just Type/Type2/Normal moves.

Anyway, hoping that Fennekin is Fire-Fighting Dark. I understand from the trailer, but Pokemon can always use moves that aren't their type.

But GF is GF and we'll get another Fire/Fighting.
