I 100% agree with you, but the artwork does seem similar to that to a sugimori design. I guess only time will tell, but I would like to think this could give people a good idea of possible outcomes... yet am I the only one who thinks that the fire fox reminds me wayyyyy too much of that Digimon that was wth the main actor in like the 3rd or 4th season?

It was posted before, not 100% sure what was said, but pretty sure it was mentioned to be fanmade.

Aside from being Foxes, Renamon(I assume that's who you're talking about) looks fairly different from Fennekin. Pretty sure Ranamon(Or at least Kyubimon) are based on Kitsunes, like how Vulpix's and Zorua's line are, and it's more noticeable to see when you compare Kyubimon and Ninetales together, Kitsune I believe is pretty popular for stuff though.

If anything Fennekin resembles Viximon(Renamon's prior form) more then anything else, still fairly different.

Let's go to the beach, each.
I'm gonna post this, but I feel like I am late to the party, 50+ pages to read makes for faaaar to long to catch up... A friend of mine sent me this image of possible 3rd stages for the 3 starters... thoughts?

If this is true... I'm starting to think Water / Psychic, Grass / Fighting and Pure Fire...

No offense to their creator, but those look dreadful, especially Chespin's last form; it looks like Excadrill. But then again, I remember thinking that the fully-evolved forms of the Gen 5 Starter Pokemon were bad too. I still feel that way about Emboar, but I've grown to like Serperior and Samurott. Anyway, I wonder what kind of meltdowns will occur when the fully-evolved Gen 6 Starter Pokemon are finally revealed; I just hope that nobody screams "fake" this time.

It is very nice artwork, and I really like those forms, but they are probably fake. :(

And are you talking about Renamon from season 3? At the very least it looks like her champion form Kyubimon.

Yeah, most likely fake, but wow are they well done fakes... but then again, the artwork for Emboar, Samurott and Serperior came out a few months before their release in an unofficial drawing, from what I remember...

And yes, Renamon, that's exactly who I was talking about... but I guess Kyubimon would be a good mix between Ninetails and This one.... Also I've been noticing a bit of a Digimon inspiration since the last generation on some designs, mainly the Dragon Legendaries... they kinda gave off that vibe...

Probably fake, yeah... but here's the thing... I was shown these images about 4 hours ago... meaning this would have to been designed in 12 hours seeing no one had seen these previously... and not only that, but someone else has posted a design that kinda looks like what I posted... I'm starting to think either this is leaked artwork or someone has massive talents and imagination to pull this off in little to no time OR that these are preliminary designs and they are still being finallized ... kudos to whomever did this, cause these are great designs in the artform of the master himself... It's simplistic yet complexe.

Yeah, I stopped watching Digimon ages ago, I'd have to research those lol...

Also, I apologize if I double posted...

Umm.. I haven't been in this section yet so.. Who's everyone going for? I either think Fenneken or Froakie. I just don't see myself bonding with Chespin at all...

PrismaticPrincessAnna

I'll do my Lilliest
I swear, THIS IS HARD TO CHOOSE FROM!

I'd choose Froakie coz I always choose water starters.
Chespin coz it looks like Pachirisu somehow XD
Fennekin is so adorable but I'm not into fire types XD

Itrs hard to choose x_X

Guess I'll wait what their evolution is like first, nya~

My thoughts?

I really like ALL the starters this time!

I really have no idea which one will be accompanying me on my newest adventure yet.

Whilst I am a Grass-type trainer, I am not like many people here, the people who normally stick with a particular type on their first play through. Lots of people have said things like 'I always pick the water starter first time around', I have never done that.

In R/B I chose Bulbasaur, my first ever Pokemon :')

G/S I chose Totodile.

R/S I chose Torchic.

D/P I chose Chimchar and REALLY dislike the Turtwig line.

B/W and B/W 2 I chose Oshawott and Snivy. I've done the story loads of time and just can't make myself Tepig lol.

So yeah, no pattern at all when it comes to the starters, I just choose my favourite one.

Which brings me to the newest three, and my thoughts:

Chespin: I kinda like it, and kinda don't. It just seems...lacking something. Plus I really like my Grass types to be flowery and plant/flower/grass-like. Chespin's evos, I think, will become more spiny and needle-like. He really has loads of potential but I hope so much it's NOT Grass/Dark - DO YOU REALISE HOW MANY WEAKNESSES IT WOULD HAVE INCLUDING 4X WEAKNESS TO BUG :eek::eek:

Fennekin: Well, as much as I hate jumping on the bandwagon, there is no doubt in my mind that Fennekin is the best drawn and most 'Pokemon-esque' of the three, although it;s not particularly original. Those people saying it doesn't look like Zorua are deluded. That said, I, just like everybody else am a total sucker for foxes/canines. I've even got a completely EV trained team of canines. Now I won't say she will be Fire/Psychic just from one move in the trailer (Ninetales can learn Extrasensory, Psyshock and Hypnosis...) but if she is Fire/Psychic that then is very interesting indeed.

Froakie: At first I was like ewwwwwwwww but the more I have looked at him the more I am falling for his charm. I don't particularly like Water types although I HAVE to have a Surfer in every team in every playthrough I do and that is why I have chosen Feraligatr, Empoleon and Samurott lots of times in the past. His evos have got so much potential and I particularly like the idea of him being sage-like as seen in some of the fan art being circulated.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THESE GAMES. Literally wetting myself. Well, not literally. Unless you're into that kinda thing, lol.

Well, as I'm sure some have mentioned, but I haven't seen anyone recently posting this possibility, the possible type combinations are as follows:

Grass/Dark
Fire/Psychic
Water/Fighting

From watching the trailers, the moves they used were from their primary types, as well as what looked to be their secondary types. They used Solarbeam, Hydropump, and Flamethrower. Then they proceeded to use what seemed like Night Slash, Confusion, and some sort of fighting type move.

If this is correct, then it would bring the wheel of weaknesses to not only be Grass < Fire < Water, but also Dark > Psychic > Fighting, so things would balance out MUCH MORE than they have in the past. This sort of balance seems like something that hasn't been present at all in the past starters, and I really believe this is what they are going for, a complete balance of the flow of power within the starter trio.

wellll about that "Night Slash"

I know we're all side tracked by the purple lines but pay attention to the background. That's pretty explicitly Aerial Ace's animation and Golurk only really reacts to the background strikes
the purple lines might just represent movement

I know, I did bring this to my attention, however the attack graphic change per generation, I don't think aerial ace had that black and red background until gen4/5
It was the purple and Black lines in the foreground that suggested night slash to me... unless it is a new move all together?

See, I'm on the trail of thought of going Fire / Dark, Water / Psychic, Grass / Fighting... which would be awesome if you ask me...

I really, really like that Sage Froakie.

There was a post before about him being intellectual with a wizardly possible outcome. I think this fanart fits that idea quite well.

I like it too, but I do not want another mustached water starter. Without the mustache, it'd be perfect for me.

Hey guys, I'm new here (kinda). Been visiting Serebii for a long time, but never joined. I was surprised Froakie wasn't taken as a username yet! I actually like Chespin the best though, I think. Have to wait and see what they evolve into.

So happy that I actually like all 3 starters though! I didn't really care for any of gen 5's starters.

I seriously question why people think that because the starters used moves that are different than their base type means that they're also that type.

Are Pokemon not allowed to use moves of different types now?

I dislike repetition. I love Samurott though, but I think a frog with a mustache would like stupid.

I see your point, but IMO them using those certain moves could be a hint.
