Starting Emerald

Right im starting emeral and i would like to know what pokemon i want to be capturing early on??

Btw I Think Im Starting With Treeko

When I started my Emerald I captured a Poochyena. It became very helpful though I don't know if it would help other people. It went all the way to the E4 with me. Now it's used for the Battle Frontier. ^^ *huggles her Poochyena which is now a Mightyena*

BTW, My starter in Emerald was Mudkip.

Take Treecko for your starter.

-Golbat is very useful against Brawly.
-Use makuhita(or Hariyama) to beat wattson.
-Azumarill will be useful against Flannery.

I usually start with a Mudkip or Torchic. For some reason, I just don't like Treeko. Never have liked Grass types much.

These Pokemon are good when you're starting off...
- Poochyena
- Shroomish
- Ralts (they are hard to train at first, but definately worth it)
- Zubat (I used to hate Zubat, but then I decided to train it as a once-off and fell in love. Crobats PWN!)
- Taillow
- Beautifly/Dustox (surprisingly, these two can be okay in the lower gyms. I've always dropped them, though)
- Marill (if you don't start with a Mudkip, Marill is a good idea)

i think you should choose mudkip or torchic
and pokemon you should catch are wingull its been very helpful to me
i think poochyena because the twin gym leader is almost the hardest gym so you need a dark type
a zubat then evolve it into golbat thats gonna be your strongest team ever
a seedot but its quite rare so be patient! then evolve it into a shiftry thats what i use to beat the last pokemon in the elite four which whishash with solarbeam
and aron thats one poweful pokemon and last but not least makuhita ofcourse

Go with what ever starter you want, they all have good and bad points, i chose Treeko on emerald and torchic on ruby,
But get a ralts, One of the few pokemon that will last the whole game.
Marill is ok early on but azumaril is awful.
