Steel Rain (a UU RMT)

Miltank Man!
Well, I have no interesting commentary to make on this team, so I'll just post it. And yes, it is a Rain team, in case it isn't obvious.

379.png

Registeel @ Damp Rock
Impish / Clear Body
252 HP / 188 Def / 64 SpD
- Thunder Wave
- Iron Head
- Rain Dance
- Rest

A physically defensive, Rain Dance Registeel lead. Thunder Wave is generally used first, as using Rain Dance gives away the purpose of the team a little bit too quickly. Iron Head allows for some Jirachi-esque paraflinching if I get lucky, as well as preventing Steel from being setup bait. Rest is useful, seeing as I don't have Leftovers.

454.png

Toxicroak @ Life Orb
Jolly / Dry Skin
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Cross Chop
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- ThunderPunch

SDcroak. Swords Dance is a very effective boosting move, Cross Chop as STAB, Sucker Punch to stop Mismagius or Slowbro and ThunderPunch fries Moltres. Dry Skin heals more damage than Life Orb recoil does, making for an effective sweeper in the right situation.

419.png

Floatzel @ Life Orb
Jolly / Swift Swim
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch
- Crunch
- Return

LOWeasel. In the rain, Floatzel is the fastest non-Scarf Pokemon out there (even faster than Sunny Day Jumpluff!). Waterfall is a hard-hitting STAB, Crunch is SE against Ghosts and Psychics, Ice Punch hits Venusaur and Altaria and Return gets neutral hits on Toxicroak as well as generally getting good neutral hits.

272.png

Ludicolo @ Leftovers
Modest / Rain Dish
252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
- Rain Dance
- Energy Ball
- Ice Beam
- Surf

Ludi makes a great special tank. Surf and Energy Ball for powerful STABs, Rain Dance as I need at least two Pokemon with rain-making possibilities, and Ice Beam for more coverage.

334.png

Altaria @ Leftovers
Calm / Natural Cure
252 HP / 200 Def / 56 SpD
- Roost
- Toxic
- Heal Bell
- Dragon Pulse

Cleric Altaria. Roost is useful for healing, Toxic is useful for stalling, Heal Bell is useful to stop status from running wild, and Dragon Pulse is useful for...being useful. EV spread is Smogon copypasta, live with it.

141.png

Kabutops @ Life Orb / Muscle Band
Adamant / Swift Swim
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
- Waterfall
- Rock Slide
- Aqua Jet
- Swords Dance

SDtops strikes again! With an impressive Attack stat, mediocre speed compensated by Swift Swim and great coverage from Water + Rock, this giant enemy crab will not get flipped over anytime soon. I'm deciding between Life Orb and Muscle Band on this set, as the main way people stop Kabutops is stalling it out until LO recoil kills it.

Ludicolo migyht want substitute. In rain, aqua jet isn't really needed and I'd go stone edge over rock slide.

Have you ever tried a combination of Ambipom + Uxie as your rain starters? Registeel isn't a good lead these days, and Ambipom can Taunt + rain. Uxie is a more bulky rain user, and can also use Heal Bell (since it'd go over Altaria).

You might want to run both Ice Punch and Return on Floatzel, so drop Brick Break.

SD Ludicolo is pretty decent in rain, so you may consider that over what you have now. On an otherwise offensive team, SubSeeding may not be so effective and just lose momentum. Even a specially offensive set would be better, although Omastar would probably be better there. Or Gorebyss.

You could use X-Scissor over Aqua Jet, for better coverage. Also Stone Edge > Rock Slide usually.

Well, the main reason I chose Registeel was because hardly anyone expects a Registeel to be setting up rain. I will consider your ideas, though.

I'll most likely change Ludi to a special attacker - I'll probably use it as a tank, seeing as it has such good SpD and really good healing options.

Aqua Jet is mainly for when the rain runs out, and revenging on, say, Mismagius or Houndoom. Rock Slide's flinch chance tends to go in my favour for some reason, and seeing as Kabutops will outspeed almost everything...

Thanks!

Oh yeah I didn't spot this before, but Life Orb is better on Floatzel. You don't want to waste precious turns switching around stuff because you're locked into the wrong move.

Well, I assumed the extra power from the Band would compensate for that. Life Orb gives him one more thing to die from.

Then again, he isn't exactly a tank, so LO it is.

i have a idea for your sweeping ludicolo
Nature: Modest
Ability: Swift Swim
Item: Life Orb
EVS: 4 DEF/252 SP ATK/252 SPE
Attacks: Surf, Grass Knot, Ice Beam, Focus Punch

ok life orb may take away a bit of health (thats why i put 4 DEF evs) but if hes been set up propaply (eg the opponent has been toxic spiked or stealth rocked) then he is bound to cause a up set :D

Channy, I chose a bulky attacking set for a reason - Ludicolo is fairly tough. Focus Punch is stupid as well - exactly who am I hitting using that without Substitute?

So yeah, A: your rate is irrelevant and B: you're necroing my thread.

alright i was just giving my opinion and just giving you a option for Ludicolo, as hes a better special sweeper than a physical sweeper
