Okay, me and my friend have been having trouble capturing the Steelix right before going into Wintown for the first time. My Minun is fully charged, but I dont know if that will help. These are my friend pokemon-
Medicham
Poliwhirl
Raichu
Piloswine
Glaile
Glaile
And fully charged minun. Any tips?

I would parlyze then use medicham when the steelix is circleing if fails try to recharge then use dusklops to imoblize and then circle as fast as you can

use your poliwhiwl. use his bubble on steelix and then just circle away. oh and try and make big circles because if you hit him the bubble will break.

The strategy guide says get the sneasel that is before him, then once he is in the middle use the dark poke assist and go around the whole screen, this is what the strategy guide said, I just used a fighting poke assist...

Don't double post threads, I saw the two of these.

AS for help, I just used a Medicham and circle around like crazy. Sneasel sounds like an ok idea too so try both. I don't think minun works though.

paralyze him when he is coiling up, then use a fighting poke assist

Ok, everyone is incorrect with using Sneasel, it won't work on the strategy, look Steelix can't be paralyzed or frezzed, so I use this strategy:

Use Poliwhirl/Poliwhrath to catch it in a bubble.
Now use Medicham and it will do effective.
Be fast to catch it.

Here's how I did it. I used Poliwhirl to capture him in a bubble when he was coiled, then quickly switched to Medicham, and power circled the rest. It was fairly simple, just time consuming and extremely frustrating.

I just used medicham for fighting and I eventually got him. BUT sneasel DOES work, he is DARK, not ice. with dark you can circle the whole screen when he is in the middle. Also dark is neutral to EVERY type...

My simple way i did it is...
Sneasel while hes circling then...Spin like mad!
