Defender of Justice
Storm Force
A Superhero RPG by Squirtleking
The world in which we live is only one of many millions, merely one single eventuality out of countless parallel worlds. However, nearly every world is identical, save for the minor aberrations which separate each from the other.
One key factor in this is the heroes each world looks to for deliverance from the forces of evil. For the world in which our version of humanity exists, we see heroes as only those individuals who choose to stand up and fight for the good of mankind, because it is the right thing to do. These heroes have no great power within them, save for their strength of mind, and of heart.
However, on other worlds this is not always the case. Several of our parallel universes have been honoured by the appearance of the True Heroes, the mighty individuals who, through genetics, science or other life-changing incidents, have been gifted with incredible power, and the ability to use these powers to protect the world from evil.
One world was defended by individual heroes, such as the near-unstoppable Superman and the shadowy Batman. The heroes usually chose to work alone, or in pairs, but despite their solitary natures delivered their homes time and again.
In another Earth, the greatest superheroes of all time came together to fight evil, both from outer space and on Earth itself - the Marvels. Infamous teams of superheroes - amongst them the X-Men, the Avengers and the Fantastic 4 - were formed, entire groups of powerful beings joining forces to protect the galaxy.
Now, in a previously unknown parallel Earth, reports have come in from around the globe of seemingly ordinary people performing extraordinary feats, both for good and evil. Potential superheroes have been discovered in nearly all four corners of the Earth, although several terrible villains have also surfaced to threaten peace.
In New York, an ageing scientist has learnt of the existence of the heroes, and has sent his aides into the world to bring them back. Alone, these heroes may be strong, but against the villains preparing to try their hand at global domination, even the strongest hero may not be enough if unsupported…

The Hero
Name: Andrew Cattanach
Superhero name: Armoury
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Description: Armoury is a tall and slender hero, with long and untidy dark brown hair and bright green eyes. He wears a wide variety of costumes when in battle, thanks to his abilities, but is most often seen in a full suit of metallic plate armour, which has large, rounded shoulder pads and a thruster pack on the back, allowing Armoury to both fly and jump great distances.
Personality: Armoury is brave yet stubborn, refusing to give in when the situation is desperate. This has both saved and cost many lives during his still brief career as a hero. Each death weighs heavily on the mind of Armoury, who knows full well that the safety of the civilians is his responsibility, and so he is prone to bouts of depression and angst. Despite this, he is a loyal and fun-loving friend who is easy to get close to - that is, when he is in his civilian guise.
Origin: The American military was presenting a new form of armour in New York, a unique system which involved setting a CD-ROM into a wrist mounted player, which would then generate the armour stored on the CD player onto the user. Unfortunately, the equipment malfunctioned, destroying the player and killing the user. The disk itself was lost in the chaos, but was later discovered by Andrew, who attempted to access its contents on his computer. The computer exploded, this time taking the disk with it, but the energy contained within was fused into Andrew’s DNA, turning him into the hero called Armoury.
Powers: Armoury has gained the ability to summon any form of weaponry and armour from the past, present and future and use it in battle. His main suit of armour is virtually impregnable against modern weapons, though it is not invincible under sustained fire. Using this ability drains Armoury’s energy over a long period of time, depending on the size and strength of the summoned items. As a general rule, Armoury can stay in his armoured form for roughly 2 hours before requiring rest.
Friend/love interest: Claire Robertson - friend
Arch Enemy: Cloak
Friend/Love Interest
Name: Claire Robertson
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Description: Like Andrew, Claire is tall and slender, with long brown hair, punctuated with streaks of blonde, and hazel eyes. Her looks have earned the unwanted attentions of many a young man; though her powerful right hook have kept most at bay. Commonly, she is found wearing a white tank top and jeans under a black hooded top and a cream-shaded belt, with various bangles and bracelets adorning her wrists.
Personality: Claire is a bright and bubbly girl who is popular at college and easy to make friends with. Her uplifting personality makes her fun to be around and usually proves to be a calming influence on those around her. However, following several failed relationships, she has given up on finding love, instead throwing herself into her relationships with her friends, namely her best friend, Andrew.
History with hero: Andrew and Claire have in fact known each other since birth, though neither realised this until meeting 12 years later in New York. The two first met as infants in their local area, then just 3 and 2 years old respectively. Andrew eventually moved away, and they did not see each other again until meeting by chance at high school years later. Over the past 4 years, they have rekindled their old friendship and are virtually inseparable, though Andrew has still not disclosed his greatest secret. In the dark days to come, it is only a matter of time before the secret is revealed…
Arch Enemy
Name: N/A
Villain name: Cloak
Age:???
Gender: Male
Description: Cloak’s body is mostly concealed beneath a long white cloak and robes, which trail on the ground in his wake. Beneath the fabric, however, he has a tall yet scrawny frame, every inch of his skin jet black. His face, apart from his eyes, is concealed beneath a hood and mask which covers his nose and mouth. In addition, he carries a white-hilted samurai sword slung across his back, which is held within a white sheath.
Personality: Cloak was once a good man, a hard working citizen in China. However, during a fire in the building in which he worked, Cloak was struck down by a fireball, forever blackening his skin. Now bitter and twisted beyond all recognition, Cloak has lost all traces of pity or mercy and has sworn revenge on the world - in particular Armoury.
Powers: Cloak has very few abilities beyond his natural agility and speed, though these are nonetheless potent. When his mask is removed, he can kill a human with a single glance, and the folds of his cloak can be released at high speed to grab onto high ledges for a swift escape, or to ensnare prisoners to use in his plans.
History with hero: During one of Armoury’s first missions, he was tasked with preventing a terrorist bomb from exploding in Hong Kong. Despite locating and defeating the terrorists, he was too late to prevent the bomb from destroying the building, killing dozens of people. One of the injured men within was the man who would become known as Cloak. Armoury personally carried the wounded man from the wreckage, but Cloak blamed Armoury for his injuries, and has since plotted how to make Armoury suffer as much as he has.
Note that although this is a parallel world, I don’t want to see anyone obviously copying an existing Marvel/DC hero - try to be more original!
