Till all are One
Is there a translation for what's being said in the Smash video? In game more than the excited yelling.

Maybe the player characters will talk this time around! Why not? Gamefreak are going out of their way to shove every other rule we've expected them to follow out the window, so since we're playing sequels and starting our journey from a city why shouldn't the protags finally break their silence?

Plus, remember that in Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver, the protagonists opposite of your gender had in-game roles and were perfectly capable of speech.

I'm sorry but how is a sequel "shoving every other rule out the window"?

Ok everyone says no Hoehn region accessibility. This has not been confirmed or denied so dont knock people down just yet.

Personally, I'd rather a Hoenn era remake as the first game of Gen VI.

But it's also not allowed to be further discussed in this thread. We don't have any extreme implication an inclusion of Hoenn is within Black and White 2, and it's really obvious right now nobody has any valid reasoning to support it.

When there'd be more Pokemon to ruin your game-play? No thanks lol.

Anyway, why is it so hard to understand that they can will the protagonists to talk if they choose for them to? Ethan/Lyra talked. Brendan/May talked. Lucas/Dawn talked. Hilbert/Hilda talked. If you look at it, Red was pretty much the only protagonist who didn't talk as an NPC. The main character you didn't choose nowadays actually talk much more frequently than what people seem to understand.

That's because they're an actual character, not the protagonist.

In the case of Red, he was the protagonist, who is always silent. Thus, Red was silent. If Hilbert/Hilda were encountered in BW2, one of them would be silent, because one of them was the protagonist who collected 8 Badges and defeated Team Plasma 2 years ago.

It might as well be confirmed. It's as likely to be in BW2 as it was to be in BW1. Putting Hoenn in the game would require creating materials for a whole new region. The point of BW2 is to recycle the materials they already have. If they were going to bother developing Hoenn from scratch, they might as well just release it as a Ruby/Sapphire remake and get waaaaay more money. Putting Hoenn alongside Unova would be a terrible business decision, and frankly it's not even aesthetically sound. The idea is too ludicrous to even consider.

EDIT: Oh wait, it IS confirmed.

I think Red being silent was just an aesthetic touch for reminiscent and artistic purposes, since he only had a small appearance in the game anyway. I don't think it's necessarily a rule that protagonists have to be incapable of speech. They may make Hilbert/Hilda silent if he/she solely has a role similar to Red's in GSC which involves only interacting to the character once, but if he/she has a bigger role in the story, Game Freak isn't going to restrict the character to "..." every scene. It was cool for Red since it was the final battle and it created an eerie epicness, but for a character with involvement in the story and multiple lines of dialogue, it would just be awkward.

"What's that, Hilbert? Timmy's stuck in the well!?"

This took me a little bit of thiniing: A year before this the story line (a year after the Black and White story line), N went to the Giant Chasam to catch Kyurem but the main hero from Pokemon Black/White went to stop him. And when N arrived and summoned his Zekrom/Reshiram, the oldmain hero arrived and Kyurem turned into Black/White Kyurem. Then because of the change, its move Glaciate was increased dramaticly and it used it and freezed half of the region and they are still frozen. And becuase of the freeze over, the pokemon on the right side of the "circle" knew about what was happening so they ran to a "safe zone" so the Unova Dex is now up to 300, plus probably during the expanding on the southern west side, they found some more old generation pokemon. And becuase of that 3 of the 8 gyms were frozen over and they replaced 2 of them with the 2 new ones, but one of them might not of been in there city during it so they attablished another gym in a different town. Then the area in the southern west side was made and the 2 new gym leaders are in 2 of those cities. And because of the freeze over, the new scientist, Akuroma, speculates that Kyurem did this and is studying the strength of pokemon to find out how Kyurem's power increased. And when the main character beats the last gym, he goes to where the Giant Chasam is to find Kyurem and reverse the ice. When he arrives he reawakes the old main character and N. Then the old main character draws out his Reshiram/Zekrom and they begin to battle, but Kyurem wakes up and freezes both dragons and the new main then challenges Kyurem and catches him and reverses the ice. The new main character then goes to the Elite 4 to face the Champian which is know accesible. Then after the story line you can visit the places covered in ice and you might be able to face the 2 gym leaders. That is what speculate.

The region's not frozen, the map is...there are clouds under the ice...

Actually, in the larger map you can see a brown spot on that area, confirming that Giant Chasm is still there.

But let's talk about that in the Unova discussion/speculation thread instead ;)

Tch, you're right... It's still confusing as all heaven looking only at the small map, however. I've seen people saying the Chasm has become larger! And I surely can't see that.
