Strategy- capturing Safari Zone Pokemon

Chansey, Gligar... they're the Safari Zone Pokemon that everyone loves to kvetch about. Just as soon as you think you've got 'em, they escape from the ball and then run. What's your strategy when trying to catch these Pokemon? I'm not talking about the button-pressing superstitions ("I hold A and B while simultaneously rapid-pressing <--") because those are just that: superstitions. I'm talking about a strategy.

I've always thrown one round of bait/one Pokeblock that the Pokemon likes, approach twice, and then just throw Pokeballs until the Pokemon runs away. Haven't exactly had much success with this, at least not with the above two Pokemon. What do you guys do?

Throw pokeball immediately, jam on B and hope the pokemon doesn't break free/ B button doesn't pop out.

i tap A rapidly with <- pressed down.... i throw baits sometimes... throw some rocks so i get to p*ss the pokemon off... lol

I get near twice/throw two Rocks, and then throw the Safari Ball. Works most of the time, though a few pus*ies run at the minor provocation. :rolleyes:

I love how Pokemon XD has all the rare Safari Zone pokemon!!

But, in Fire Red I usually throw bait, then throw SafariBalls like mad!! In Sapphire, I creep up once or twice then throw them like crazy! ;123;

I think it is best to throw bait with the Chansey's. They're a happy Pokemon they don't like rocks. They will let you throw more balls at them when they have a bait or 2.

First I throw some bait later one or two rocks and later Safarii balls.
Some pokemon are easy to catch (Nidorans) and even annoying, but if I meet
Chansey.... oh man. She runs away all the time, so I throw only Safarii ball.

I creep close once, then chuck a ball and press and hold B - I know it's a superstition, but it can't hurt, can it?

I throw bait at the pokemon, then throw balls like a maniac until the pokemon stops eating. Then I throw more bait at it. Throwing rocks is childish... but helpful. I suppose. yep.
