Strong Virus Removal Tool

I have some form of virus according to my error log diagnosis. My laptop constantly lags, it resets at random if you use the USB ports, the lag closes programs, makes my WMP stutter and sometimes stop every other song. All of these things are incredibly annoying. Norton and AVG both say 'could not remove..' I also followed the advice of the 'serious error' report, starting in safe mode and connecting to the windows scanner, which did the same thing. Basically whatever it is doesnt want to leave, what should I do? I don't want to format, as I will lose over 12 GB of music.

I don't remember, I will make a note next time. One other problem is that for the last few tries, the virus seems to be stopping my Norton and AVG from connecting to retrieve updates.

I'll take note of the virus names next time it restarts.

Locate and try AntiVir. It's really slow to scan, but really good at removing viruses.

Thanks. I'll have a look for it.

Did this virus happen suddenly? It happened to my computer. I've tried every virus removing software I can find with unfortunate results...
Try adaware because that can help somewhat thouhg.

Actually it's been playing up for quite a while, I've just been putting up with it for a long time. Adaware is a program I have run with no joy. Everything seems to be ineffectual against it :/

I went through something similar (with a virus called MyLove). First, run a virus scan to find the name of the virus. If it's persistent, it won't let the program delete it. That's fine. go to your start menu and use the search tool and put in the virus' name, making sure to search hidden files and folders. Once you've found it, go to that folder (you may need to go to Tools -->Folder Options --> View tap and then click to view hidden files and folders). Try and delete it manually.

If that doesn't work, try Ctrl+Alt+Del. On your Windows Task Manager, go to the Processes tab. Find the virus and tell it to stop running. It should let you delete it then.

Also, the TechSpot boards have been very helpful to me. I think this is the correct tutorial for getting rid of viruses, as I've lost the link I had favorited.
