Well, hopefully this one dosen't get derailed like the last one.

So, I had this idea. There are 460 153 pages of threads in this section, but a great deal of them were trolled incessantly and did not recieve the quality of rates that they deserved. I have endeavoured to revive the thread below so that the newer raters can bask in its golden glow as the older ones once did.

In order to create a sense of user interaction, I have decided to turn this idea into a kind of game: the first person to guess the creator of the team below wins, essentially, and as a prize I will honour them in my signature they will have to live with the satisfaction of winning. Simply state the username of who you think the team's creator might be in your post. If you're unclear on the rules, don't hesitate to ask for assistance. I can't stop you from using the search function, but try not to, since it takes the fun out of the game.

Remember to rate the team!

Oh, and if the team is yours, please DO NOT SAY SO. It sort of defeats the purpose. Just sayin'.

~The Team~

Nope.

Ok so basically I've decided to do a challenge for my White version which involves me spelling the name of a Pokémon with the names of other Pokémon. Rather than going on some long explination,

Camerupt
Roserade
Octillery
Bisharp
Altaria
Togekiss

Yeah you get me. I'm open for Pokémon changes if they allow me to still spell out CROBAT and the C isn't used by Crobat itself. So here goes;

323.png
  • Camerupt @ Life Orb
  • Solid Rock
  • Naughty Nature
  • 248 HP / 176 Atk / 76 SpAtk / 4 Spe
    • Nitro Charge
    • Flamethrower
    • Earthquake
    • Rock Slide

Yeah I just used a mixed Pokémon for like the first time ever. Because I felt like it. It's a bit of a weird one but I gave it the best shot I could really. I'll quickly run through the moveset which I'm sort of confident on with a couple of exceptions. It's basically abusing STAB with a little physical boosting from Nitro Charge and throwing in Rock Slide for nice coverage and stuff.

The EVs are what are bugging me. 248 HP is to allow (I think) an extra hit from the Life Orb, should I need it. It's a physically based set so 176 Atk + Naughty Nature give it a decent enough Atk stat, hitting a jump point. The 4 EVs into Spe let me get past any other Base 40 which doesn't invest which is, tbh, most of them. Then I just dumped into SpAtk to beef up Flamethrower / Fire Blast a little bit.

Problems with this set:
  • Should I use the Leftovers or Life Orb?
  • Should I use Earthquake or Earth Power?
  • Should I invest more into SpAtk?

407.png
  • Roserade @ Wise Glasses
  • Natural Cure
  • Timid Nature
  • 4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
    • Giga Drain
    • Sludge Bomb
    • Hidden Power [Rock]
    • Sleep Powder

Yep. I've wanted to use this thing for a while but never really got the chance up until just now, so here it is. Giga Drain > Energy Ball because the 5 Base Power is no sacrifice when you get HP recovery. Despite its poor typing, Sludge Bomb is always a strong STAB and a good moveslot filler. Hidden Power [Rock] is an odd choice at first glance but when you consider that it covers Ice, Flying and Fire all on its own it's actually a pretty damn good choice for a Grass type Pokémon. EVs and Nature are standard Special Sweeper. Wise Glasses or Life Orb?

224.png
  • Octillery @ Leftovers
  • Sniper
  • Modest Nature
  • 252 HP / 252 SpAtk / 4 Spe
    • Scald
    • Ice Beam
    • Charge Beam
    • Substitute / Energy Ball

Oh my God this thing is incredible. Just looking through its special movepool, we have Surf, Scald, Ice Beam, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Charge Beam, Energy Ball, Signal Beam and Sludge Bomb. So it was pretty hard to come up with a set but I think I have it. A SubCBer seems nice to me, although I could go for all attacks and have Energy Ball > Sub, but it seems a little redundant. Meh. Scald > Surf because of the bulk I'll be using in here and it needs to set up well and stuff so the possible burn might help. Ice Beam and a Water move are good together and it kills Grass off too. Charge Beam is the crux of this set, last move is debatable. Standard Special Attacker EVs in here.

625.png
  • Bisharp @ Leftovers
  • Defiant
  • Jolly Nature
  • 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    • Psycho Cut
    • Night Slash
    • Swords Dance
    • Brick Break

Originally meant to be a Banette but God that thing is horrible. This is a very straightforward set so I won't really go into that much detail on it, especially since I'm getting bored with writing this all out now, but yeah. Quick explanation for the obviously impending question about Night Slash and Psycho Cut;

Yep. The rest is very straightforward, really. Brick Break and Night Slash provide some nice overage together, Swords Dance for the obvious setup, and standard Physical Sweeper EVs.

334.png
  • Altaria @ Leftovers
  • Natural Cure
  • Adamant Nature
  • 72 HP / 252 Atk / 184 Spe
    • Dragon Claw
    • Earthquake
    • Dragon Dance
    • Roost

Yay Altaria. <3

And one of my favourite variants of it too. I just like the Dragon Dance one for some odd reason so I decided to use it. It's quite straightforward again, as is most of this team; a STAB attack, a coverage attack, a setup move, and some recovery as filler. The EVs let it outspeed a Timid Starmie after one Dragon Dance, maximise Atk, and dump the rest into HP for some good general bulk and stuff. Leftovers are cool.

468.png
  • Togekiss @ Leftovers
  • Serene Grace
  • Modest Nature
  • 192 HP / 76 SpA / 240 Spe
    • Nasty Plot
    • Aura Sphere
    • Air Slash
    • Roost

Yeah one of my favourite sets of all time here because it's just so damn hard to kill but it still kills everything on its own. I need some help with the EVs though. Right now they outspeed a Rotom I think.

So, thoughts, IGRMT?

**** i forget who started using this format. I think it's this person though: I'm guessing alex - aka thebluerabbit - aka wtv the hell he changed his username to

hmmm maybe i'll rate a bit too
shadow ball is an option on roserade instead of sludge bomb. gives you a chance to hit steel types neutrally and you hit psychics super effectively which you're weak to. sludge bomb is really pretty much fine though ..

It's obviously Alex, just look at the format. I even remember this team from when it was posted

Use mixscarf Altaria. It's more fun.

Yep, its Noctourniquet aka Alex. he's one of the only people on alll of SPPf who uses bullet points. In fact, I think I remember rating the original team.

As for Togekiss, I'd use a Timid nature and rearrange the EVs to 232 HP/ 148 Spatk/ 128 Spd. You keep the exact same Speed stat, yet you can invest more in bulk and you only lose about 6 in Spatk, I think.

Incapable of learning. It seems my time in the previous thread was, as I imagined, totally wasted. Regardless, unlike the majority of you, I shall take advice given to me and provide suggestions for this team.

Now don't go provoking people, eh? Remember, the goal is to keep this and future threads from being derailed like the previous one.

If the team does indeed belong to Noctourniquet I would suggest that he reconsider the distribution of his attacking Effort Values for Camerupt. As (Pro)bopass suggested, they may be underwhelming on the side of Special Attack and could remove the usefulness of Flamethrower. An alternative solution, however, could be to instead use Fire Blast as the special attacking move. Aside from that, the team looks reasonable. Should it be accurate, Aurawarrior8's suggestion is very worthwhile considering.

It usually takes people longer to discover that fact, but yes, it was.

That's why you just have to keep doing it. Over and over.

Frickin' Magnets how do they work

I remember this team, iirc Alex made it a little before White came out. I love the Togekiss too, everyone should have one. I'd take Aura's word for it, but either way the thing won't get touched for either one to be better than the other. His is far more reliable in the long run though.

Since it's a FAT (of Alex's, no less) there's not much else to do really.
