Stupid question

I know this is a stupid question but when will I be able to trade pokemon from Emerald to another?

Always after you get a PokeDex and anytime to any game when you get a National Dex. If that's real-life....no answer.

You can trade between r/s/e, but until you beat the pokemon league, you can't trade with XD or fr/lg. Not sure about colosseum.

Anyway, you don't have the National Dex until you defeat the Elite Four and Prof. Birch will give it after.

In emerald you can trade with Ru/Sa even before the leuge, but after beating the leuge and getting the national dex you can trade with Fr/Lg.

You can trade only with Ruby, Sapphire or another Emerald before you beat E4.

After you beat E4, you can trade to Colosseum, Fire Red, Leaf Green and XD.

I am not sure about Pokemon Box because I don't have it.

After you beat the Elite 4, Professor Birch will give you the National Dex. With it, you'll be able to trade between previously non-compatible games such as Fire Red, Leaf Green, Colosseum, and XD Gale of Darkness.

If you want to trade with the Color Games, too bad. You can't!
