Stupid things you used the Master Ball on

As we all know, the Master Ball can catch any Pokémon without fail. When we were kids, however, we didn't really understand the "catch ANY Pokémon" part, and we'd just throw it at an otherwise commonplace Pokémon instead of something like a legendary. Did you ever use the Master Ball on something it's not really supposed to be used on?

I did. In Ruby (the original), I used my Master Ball on something in the Petalburg Forest. I think it was either a Silcoon or Cascoon, but I don't really remember. I may have used the Master Ball on something stupid in Silver too, but it was many years ago, and the game has obviously now been lost. (In the aforementioned games, I also killed both Groudon and Lugia because I thought legendaries were uncatchable and they were like bosses that you had to defeat.)

I used it on a graveler in DP. And when I realized my mistake. I thought I would get the ball back by releasing Graveler. but unfortunately I was wrong. I was quite frustrated after that.

Was it shiny?

No. Just an ordinary Graveler. I was a dumb kid.

Well, if it was shiny, you'd be quick to throw that Master Ball before it Self-Destructs. :p

I once caught a Hippopotas with my spare Master Ball in Diamond version when I played through it for the first time, because I thought that the darker coloration on the Hippopotas meant that it was a Shiny. It wasn't until later that I realized that it was just a gender difference.

In B2/W2, Professor Juniper gives you two Master Balls after you reach Mistralton City. Did any of you use the spare Master Ball for something other than a legendary? (Reshiram and Zekrom are pretty easy to catch for legendaries; I caught Reshiram in Black with just one Quick Ball, and it was the first ball too! :D)

I used the Master Ball given to you in USUM on Necrozma not realizing the catch rate was about the same as catching a Caterpie. I didn’t expect a Legendary let alone a BOX Legendary to be so easy to catch with literally any Ball except for the Beast. I was surprised when I found out about the catch rate.

I'm kind of the opposite. I rarely actually use my Master Ball. In Red/Blue or any remake of those two games I use the Master Ball for Mewtwo; cause I'm not trying to battle that thing and then waste 70 ultra balls so that it can struggle and kill itself. In every generation afterwards, I almost never use it.

I usually use the Master Ball on Mewtwo in the Kanto based games for that very reason. It's better to use it to get that battle over with fast than waste dozens of Ultra Balls.

And everyone uses the Master Ball on Mewtwo anyway, don't they? Because it's the "Master" Pokémon?

Necrozma was way harder to catch in Sun/Moon than in US/UM. I wonder why the catch rate was increased so dramatically in US/UM.

I used the Master Ball on Zekrom in White not realizing its high catch rate lol. Probably the only dumb thing I used on it (that I can remember). Most of the time I try to see if I can catch Legendaries with regular balls first, and it usually works (after a long time).

Does using a Master ball on a shiny Psyduck count? Because I definitely felt dumb for wasting my precious Master ball on that shiny when I could've used a Lure ball or something instead...

That makes no sense and it's not even funny.

I try too hard sometimes.
