Suggestion Box

After having an 1.5 hour battle against ONLY a Meganium that Double Teamed, Leech Seeded, Substituted, and Grasswhistled (w/leftovers), I blew it. I won, but I realised my team needed work. So for each of my games, Ruby/Sapphire/FRed/Emerald, I'm building a team that has a little more focus on support, instead of general offense. Such examples include a Hazer, Heal-Beller, Rusher, etc.

Here are some examples of the Pokemon I am planning to use, not all in the same game necessarily. Please tell me what you think, and I'll try to post more later:

VAPOREON (Timid) (This Pokemon was rated quite impressive in Emerald at LV.5)
Surf
Ice Beam
(will have) Haze
????
EMPHASIS: Haze, and general damage

SHARPEDO w/Choice Band (Rash) (This PKMN rated better-than-average)
Surf
Crunch
Return
????
EMPHASIS: Quick, and brutal damage

SWAMPERT A (Quiet) (This PKMN rated better-than-average)
Surf
Ice Beam
Earthquake
????
EMPHASIS: General, broad move range

(Not yet hatched)
SWAMPERT B (????) (????)
Earthquake
Rock Slide
????
Curse
EMPHASIS: Time-bomb, greater-than-usual damage

(Which Lanturn works better?)
LANTURN (Calm) (Rated average) option A
Surf
Ice Beam
T-Bolt
Sub.

Option B
Surf
T-Bolt
Ice Beam/Confuse Ray
T-Wave/Confuse Ray

(Which Walrein works better?)
WALREIN (Bold) (Rated quite impressive) option A
Surf
Ice Beam
Rest
Sleep Talk

Option B
Waterfall/Surf
Ice Ball
Rest
Double Team

ALSO, for Heal Bell/Aromatherapy, I have not been able to get a Chansey, & I don't have XD. Are Vileplume and Chimeco any good IYO?

aipomkong

prophecy fulfilled
owned so mch by sceptile it crys

at least try to stop it with something like gyarados

Of course I'm gonna have my anti-Sceptilers, those are just the Pokemon I have now. I'd like them fixed before I go on, having them not fixed...

You know, a Ludicolo would've nulified that Meganium, and it happens to be a Water type.

Use Substitute, as that would've left that Meganium useless, as it had no damaging attacks.

By the way, mono-type teams are not good support teams. They're mostly novelty.

So you're telling me, Chaos952, to use my Substituting Lanturn instead of the T-Waving one?

And Nine Thou, Haze was one of my priorities, Vaporeon, Mantine, and Crobat were my prime candidates, but I never really thought about Taunt... Thanks!

Absol!

Sea Ruby Trainer
I see you like Water-types :)

Realizing this group is what you have so far, I'd say you need a strong Manectric (Thunderbolt), Tropius (Solar Beam) or Camerupt. Yes. Get a Camerupt - they rock ^^

Option A for Walrein (though both are quite good) and option A for Lanturn. Good luck!

Hmmm... descisions, descisions... Manectric... Magneton is preferable... High SP ATK... good Skarmbliss counter... Tropius... Sunny Day wrecks my team... Camerupt... ignoring... if I must use a fire type... which I probably won't... I'd prefer Ninetales... or a canine (Arcanine, Houndoom)... maybe a Dragon? Perhaps Altaria... nah... ... ... ...
