Kinda surprised anyone can narrow it down to just 6 tbh.

I'm guessing leveling a team will be as easy as gen 6 (EXP share and all), so I'll just rotate between all the Alola Pokémon and Alolan forms and see what I like.

Thank you Glacialcat and LittleEvil! Your comments really helped!
I've choose to throw cation to the wind and I've decided to go with Incineroar, mainly because he's my style even though I didn't want him to be a big brute, (I've noticed that I seem to go for the more big and intimidating pokemon) I was hoping he have a more sleek/all fours style but I guess that would be too much like Solgaleo... Although I am debating on grabbing up one of the other two starters to fill in my 6th slot even if it overlaps...

So as it stands my team is now looking like this. Mind you I will be making final choice once the move sets are revealed because I've learned my lessen before and think I'm going to need to slip a grass type in. I'll probably go with A-Exeggutor and get some dragon while I'm at it...
Incineroar (Fire/Dark) : Looking up name options, ideas are welcomed!
Lycanroc {Midday} (Rock) : Male named Dare
Mimikyu (Ghost/Fairy) : Male? named Echo-loc hoping for shiny
Wimpod >Evo (Bug/Water?) : Looking up name options, ideas are welcomed!
Salandit>Evo (Poison/Fire?) : Thinking Mythist for a female and Sly for a Male
Alolan Exeggutor (Grass/Dragon) : *stares* Uh I ain't got a clue, help? lol, I just keep picture this hug tree dino coming out of the forest chasing me down. I'll be thinking it wants to eat me while in reality it just wants to play or something XD Ooo maybe a number name something that means 4 for its 4 heads...

I'm just hoping Salandit won't change that fire typing to dark and Wimpod won't loose that water typing... I've never actually had a bug on my team... Huh, this should be interesting ooh I hope it learns "Bug Bite" that move was such a pain in X for me I hated it every time... I honestly can't wait till they show the rest of the pokemon along with their typing and movesets so I can really get down to it. Speaking of which I hope Mimikyu can learn at least one Electric type move, anyone think this will happen?

You're welcome, and yes we have seen Mimikyu can learn Electric type moves! In the Mimikyu rap they show it using Thunderbolt.

I like to read how you will name your Pokémon. I think I name my Primarina Praline (for Praline à la mode from Bravely Default, because she is a songer). But I have no idea for the other Pokémon...

... Praline is a fantastic name, almost makes me wish I was planning to choose Popplio. Will keep that in mind for future Popplios....

You could start a theme name team! Perhaps naming your other Pokemon after other Bravely characters (Barras the Bewear, Artemia the Decidueye, Argent the Kommo-o, Minette the A-Persian etc). Or you could maybe go with food-themed names to go along with praline being a sweet candy.

I am planning to use Primarina for Moon and Incineroar for Sun. And I will probably trade Decidueye with myself. I can't choose only one. First time since SG I love every starter.

Yeah, it's a good idea to use Bravely as a theme for names. It will be the first time I will name my Pokémon, so having a catalogue of names could help me for the beginning. I like to be coherent (like using RP names for my Khajiits in The Elder Scrolls games). I know how to wait now: find Pokémon to match names from Bravely characters! (And try to find a better way to write this sentence, I'm pretty sure it's not really English, urgh.)

Do you know what you'll name your Incineroar yet? I usually have a themed naming convention for my teams. Recently, it's been Roman or vaguely Roman/Latin sounding names. In Moon, my team so far consists of:

Incineroar - Maximus
Umbreon - Reximus
Alolan Muk - Festus
Alolan Raticate - Crassus
Alolan Persian - Nero

I haven't decided who my sixth member will be, I may end up rotating that slot, since there's quite a few Dark types from older Gens available. Of course, if there are any other new Dark types that have yet to be revealed, they'll definitely get that spot.

I just remember I was planning to name my Lycanroc Midday Remus and my Lycanroc Midnight Fenrir (for Remus Lupin and Fenrir Greyback from Harry Potter). I like to stay coherent, like using only one theme for a team, but there is too many possibilities... Maybe I can do a mix... Because I like Praline as a name, I like Remus and Fenrir...

I don't know yet how to name my kitty cat. I have to think if I use only one theme now or a mix... As I love to read and play video games, just using fiction character names could be a theme... (I have the feeling I will pass an exam, but no, I'm just thinking about Pokémon names. But Pokémon is serious business).

Using Roman names is a nice idea. There is history meaning and nice sounding.
Fingers crossed for you for a new Dark! But except Incineroar, I don't remember which new Pokémon is Dark (not including Alolan form).

Edit: oops, stupid cat here. If there is another Dark-type, you just added it to your team. But there is Silvally...

I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to my mono-teams. I don't like using pokemon that can become that type (I consider Silvally and Arceus Normal types, despite their ability to change type), or pokemon that gain the type only during Mega-evolution (I won't use Gyarados on a Dark team despite its Water/Dark Mega). I also wouldn't use a Drapion on a Bug team, for example, even though Skorupi is part Bug.

Edit: Also, I like the idea of using names from fictional characters, I think that'd be a great theme for a naming convention.

That fictional characters theme idea is just growing up in my mind.

I understand. Like you, I do not want to use Silvally as a Ghost-type because it's not really a Ghost-type. Not the way a "true" Ghost-type is, with no possibilty to change its type. And I'm not sure to like its design. I will see it in game. And I'm pretty sure Silvally is the sort of Pokémon a NPC give to you in the game and I only use Pokémon I catch.
Hopefully, there is old Pokémon to complete your team at least. Each new generation, I like to play my PVE adventure with only new Pokémon, but there is enough Ghost-type to build a mono team so I'm fine with that.

I finally think I can say, with as much certainty as one can have without having played the full games, that these are the Pokémon teams I'm aiming to finalize. My sun team is next to the boy character, my Moon team is next to the girl character, and just for shiggles, my fantasized Hau team is...next to Hau.

Very brief update adding some names
1: Incineroar (Fire/Dark) : I'm still looking up name options, ideas are welcomed! However, I'm thinking about naming him Lee after my dad and my cat Lita who's nicknamed Lee-lee and lets not forget Bruce Lee who is an epic fighter himself so I think this is a win. Although, it still might change
2: Lycanroc {Midday} (Rock) : Male named Dare
3: Mimikyu (Ghost/Fairy) : Male? named Echo-loc hoping for shiny
4: Wimpod >Evo (Bug/Water?) : Looking up name options, ideas are welcomed! I honestly have no ideas for this but after a bit of thinking I went and did a couple translations of "Sea Creature" and came up with these VVV Tell me what you guys think!
Juras Radiba (Latvain) Thinking I'll Shorten it to one word or the other both are cool.
Mere olend (Estonian) Olend is nice sounding
Morska nestvura (Czech) Both words sound cool again
Tengeri teremtmény (Hangarain) Kinda like Tengeri

5: Salandit>Evo (Poison/Fire?) : Thinking Mythist for a female and Sly for a Male
6: Alolan Exeggutor (Grass/Dragon) : *stares* Uh I ain't got a clue, help? lol, I just keep picture this hug tree dino coming out of the forest chasing me down. I'll be thinking it wants to eat me while in reality it just wants to play or something XD Ooo maybe a number name something that means 4 for its 4 heads...
(OR) I've decide that this slot must be a Grass pokemon even though I really wanted to grab A-Vulpix or A-Marowak.
6: Decidueye (Grass/Ghost) Even though it will double my Ghost I went on search and ended up really loving the Shiny coloring of this guy so I think I'll do some breeding or Soft Rest to get this guy as a shiny and because this owl is so neutral in my eyes for gender it wont matter which I get. As for a name again I want to go with a more neutral name like Briar or Bo. Although I did really like Gil/Gilgamesh, Seb/Sebastion/Bastion and Bowen/Lowen for a male.

Oddly enough now with a little time I've come to realize I actually sorta like all 3 finals...Which hasn't happened since the first gen. I love the shiny version of Decidueye, I really adore Primarina, and I'm beginning to really love Incineroar even if he was nothing I wanted my cute/tough kitty to turn into I'm still really liking his backstory and movement in game. In the end I'm pretty sure after I play the game with him I'll end up loving him just as much as the other two. So they killed our hopes and dreams of all-fours panther/tiger/cat for a starter and yet again the design looks like a Fighting type. Despite all of this I'm really beginning to love this Tiger.

And if you all wondering why I don't have Primarina on my team even though I adore the design, she's not my style, which is a more brutish/big bads/intimidating style. *says this while holding Mimikyu* Ok so not all of them fit that description but whatever, lol. Anyways, believe me if I didn't already have a water/fairy typing I would have taken her as well but I found a water and a fairy pokemon I like alot so unless Wimpod turns out to be a bust in the evo typing by loosing the water, I can't have her on my team.

Oh and thanks again Glacialcat I totally missed that when I watch the vid how I don't know but this is awesome now I won't have to worry about electric type move!

Oh one more thing, I'm loving all these names and ways you guys coming up with them! I never would have thought of a food theme for names would work but it does oddly enough. If I wasn't so dead set on naming my Lycanroc "Dar" I might have gone with Fenris which means wolf, I believe, its been a while since I looked that one up so forgive me if I'm wrong.

Oh and also, JVLightningLover, I adore the name Scribbles for Mimikyu!

Thanks! Also, with the Praline thing, is Praline a la Mode actually a name in Bravely Default (I own the game, I just have gotten around to playing it yet)? Because I've been making pralines (which is pronounced "praw-leans", and don't let anyone tell you otherwise) my whole life, and you don't serve them a la mode, though you can crush them up and sprinkle them on top of ice cream.

I think I'm gonna be using an Alolan Rattata for a little bit at the beginning. I need my dark type fix.

An early Dark-Type, especially one that gets Bite early on like Rattata does, is always nice.

Yeah, it is. She's a Performer (sort of Bard/Dancer combo class) known as the Diva of the Battlefield.

Really kind of perfect name for a Primarina.

And uh, if it makes you feel better... "a la mode" doesn't just mean "with ice cream." It also means "Fashionable." That's where "pie a la mode" comes from in the first place.

Oh, so she's a fancy praline, then? I do say.

À la mode means fashionable but here is more to say Praline is famous. She is the artist on the top, the one everyone listen for the moment.

Fashionable is more to say she wears trendy clothes, right? (From my French point of view, I see this like that. If I just repeat what you said, sorry! And I'm glad you find Praline a good name for Primarina.)

I"m doing the same thing and after going over the type chart I think we will be fine as along as you have at least one pokemon that can take on ground types because Salandit is super weak to ground attacks. This would be a bug who is highly resistant to these attacks or flying type which is the best because they are immune to ground attacks. Where as Litten (if you evo it that is) will gain its dark typing giving it immunity to Psychic attacks. So just remember that if you see a ground pokemon don't bring out Salandit! Not only that but because neither are pure fire (if evo'ed) you can teach them other moves so you don't have two full sets of 4 fire type moves.

Mind this is just an opinion you can use any pokemon you want, it will just make the game more of a challenge. For instance I went through BW 2 without a grass type pokemon and made it all the way to the Elite 4 only to get my butt handed to me. So I could have gone and leveled up or go for a grass type and level it up. I don't know what would have taken longer but I ended up trading for a grass as level 1 and leveling up to 50 before trying again and beating them with only a little bit of a struggle.

I just realized this will be the first time I go through a game without a flying type and the first game I'll be using a bug type...

In-game:
Snorlax
Ash-Greninja
Mimikyu
Tsareena
Incineroar
Silvally...flying? If it's a legendary, I''ll switch it for something else.

Just who I like right now, keeps changing as I move them around in photoshop..
