tbh, i wouldn't take Bulbapedia for 100% true though, especially since they have classed Buzzwole and Stakataka as temporary, while they aren't, since they are released (And if you class them as temporary, you also have to class Poipole as such, since it was caught for the same reasons as them).

The other two Ultra Beasts weren't caught by Ash to be owned, he caught them to solve the problem they were doing. Hence why they don't count as releases, they're not for him.

Poipole was specifically put under Ash's care by Lusamine. You cant possibly count Buzzwole and Stakakata as Ash's Pokemon

Poipole counts as capture for ash, it was used by him as well, buzzwole and stakakata were captured just to send back to there own dimensions they are no way counted as capture, in a similar way to beedril and raticate which ash had fr few minutes and then he traded and donated them.

No, Poipole was different because Ash and co. never set out to find where Poipole was from and he always treated Poipole as one of his own Pokemon. And with Lapras, he also used it like one of his own.

Ash's only true release was Poipole unless it does come back for the league. Even with Meltan Ash still only has 5 pokemon so I guess it's possible.

Greninja actually has a chance of appearing again, unlike Pidgeot and Lapras.
Rather it be this region or Galar, especially see Greninja coming back if Galar and Kalos really are right next door to each other.

if it was this region my guess is they would need to use one of the other zygarde cores to trigger something, causing the two from kalos to come running and bring greninja with them.

You know if Ash catches Meltan, then I hope he does it for himself, not for someone else.

Cause I have this feeling Oak will ask Ash to send it to him for study, or catch it for the purpose of study.

I don't want that.

Granted I know Oak would probably study it if Ash leaves it with him later in the year, but as long as Ash is catching it right now for himself, and it works into his current team, then it's fine.

Electric Type Move or Electric Type Pokemon is a slight difference.

It's possible that Ash won't catch that particular Meltan.

They all actually used the same electric move on kiawe the same way they all used Flash cannon on eevee just the electric move animation was different because electric moves are charged attacks instead of beam attacks ! Also notice when magenimite used an electric move on the group of meltan it inflicted damage so the same would happen if one meltan used thunder shock on kiawe because they all lit up! So it’s easy to say all the meltan know thunder shock and Flash cannon

Guzzlord would be a perfect trigger for Zygarde.... they're basically opposites

Also I feel Ash actively using Meltan will help with Oak's research more, he'll have all the others to study back home. Not much harm in one missing, I actually see Ash asking Oak if he minds keeping the one that bonded with him and Rowlet.

Nope, they're temporary Pokemon. Ash never counted them as his, same with Seaking in OS. He caught Seaking in intention/rule to release him after competition is over. Poipole was caught as his Pokemon until they figured out his Ultra place.

not really, because unlike Buzzwole and Staktaka who were released in the very same episode they were caught in Poipole however stuck around for about 23 episodes, and bonded with Ash and his pokemon so no matter how you try to argue it, it is not the same situation.

The gang has a ton of temporary pokemon in the show. By this logic you'd count the Raichu Ash owned in the summer camp in DP, the Grimer for Dawn, and Magnemite for Brock. Or Hitmonchan for May and Hitmonlee for Ash in Battle Frontier.

Hell even the ride pokemon in SM can count, Ash rides this Garchomp and Mallow has a Flygon and Lana a Dragonair and Lillie an Altaria....but people don't count the ride pokemon either. Besides Kiawe's Charizard who is his.

I think the writers are trying the phase out Turtonator and Brionne for Marowak and Eevee because they are smaller then them.
