• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

To be honest I'm surprised we haven't seen a Torracat vs Incineroar recently. So when we first met Torracat as Litten, we knew it knew ember. Then it eventually revealed it knew scratch. Then it learned Fire Fang from its mentor. It learned Flame Charge to get an edge on Incineroar. Then it learned Revenge to fight back against cheaters. Then its mentor came back one last time to give it another upgrade and tell it that it was proud. How do you propose the Torracat evolution and learning of Darkest Lariat will unfold? Cause I do strongly believe that from the moment Litten first evolved, the two of them were gonna be intertwined for its development. And I have heard that people do think that Kukui might beat Ash. But I'm wondering will Torracat at least get a well deserved win against its rival?

I think that Torrcat will evolve by finally defeating Kukui's Incineroar. It will then learn Darkest Lariat and Kukui would give Ash an Incinium as a reward for defeating him.

Is the Masked Royal is gonna just give him the Incinerium Z like how Lana got her?

Yes
Only it'll feel earned

There's a difference between having a Z-Crystal and being able to use it. You need to complete Island Challenge Trials before you can use them, otherwise they shatter. It's never even implied that they obtained those Z-Crystals in the Island Challenge. And Skull trying to get Darkinium Z isn't a contradiction at all. They want to use Z-Moves. Everybody else being able to use Z-Moves and beating them with them is a constant reminder of their own failure at the Island Challenge. Them dismissing the Island Challenge and Z-Moves is nothing more than them being a sore loser and trying to diminish their own failure.

Interesting how they seem to have just tossed that principle aside with Icium and Primarium...

Let talk about some of the other characters with Z Crystal they can get.

Kaiwe: I think Kaiwe should have two more Z Crystals like Dragonium Z and Ghostium Z to relate to his Pokemon secondary typing.

He doesn't need anymore crystals, he just obtained Flynium
He needs a team change, he's had the same team for two years

Joltik-Kid

Careful? Where's the fun in that?
I feel this is the Sinnoh region all over again... Paul's Torterra had Frenzy Plant, Barry's Empoleon had Hydro Cannon, Ash's Infernape got... Flare Blitz? How they messed up that connection is beyond me, but we've seen Malicious Moonassault a few times now thanks to Masked Royal and Oceanic Operetta thanks to Ida and likely soon enough Lana and sadly we're suspecting Hau to show up with Sinister Arrow Raid. Ash would offer nothing here at this point since nothing about these sig moves are special at this point. But hey, he got Lycanroc's and Pikachu's signature Z crystals.

In all fairness, did Ash’s Infernape need blast burn? And his pikachu has a a specific crystal that only he can use. No other Pikachu, so that’s pretty dope.

Team Rocket: I know that I trash on Team Rocket alot in this series, but I do think they need one more Z Crystal and Z ring if they want to go for the Pokemon League. I do think that James could get the Posionium Z Crystal because of Mareanie being a Poison type or something that might not happen because Sopholes gaining this Z Crystal is the Bugium Z Crystal because it learn a bug type move like Pin Missile. I think for Jessie I think ghost or Bug Z Crystal.

Normalium Z has potential since Meowth and Wobbuffet (and Bewear?) could use it, though they'd have to double dip to do that.

Though I'd love if they just let Meowth learn Night Slash already.

I have to wonder what will ultimately happen with Bewear at the end of the

Don't forget that Pikachu isn't his only unique team member; he has the world's only known Dusk Lycanroc (unless I've missed something recently).
And the first person to have Meltan probably. As well as the first person to keep an ultra beast. This man is apparently born for greatness.

While it is possible we still don't know for sure if he'll end up getting Poipole back. I hope it happens but it does seem like a long shot, especially him literally keeping it. I'd rather it never come back at all than have it come back for the League and leave again right after, unless they manage to make it another "Pokemon that can be called upon," somehow.

If Poipole doesn't come back then that pretty much means that Ash is either using reserves from Oak's Lab or just using 5 Pokemon in the league.

Evolve me please

Wobbuffet can't use the Normalium Z because it has no Normal type moves. Plus I don't think Meowth much as a fighter, but using his gift of speech as something far more important. Plus if Meowth remembered he had Bite then Team Rocket would have gotten the Z Ring earlier.

Plus I'm not taking those words from Meowth for learning Night Slash if he doesn't know what it look like

Question what traditions might be broken and new ones created. Think about it ash always caught the regional bird Pokemon but in alola he skipped it and kalos no grass Pokemon. Also in XY and Sun and moon right now none of the females ash is going with have any Pokemon he has used before. One thing I think might happen he might catch a Pokemon from a previous companion he traveled with except the starters. But what you guys think?

A tradition that can be broken is the Fire type this time around. The female not having caught a Pokemon Ash has used before was already broken with Serena.

he's never gone with the fire starter only either, he went through hoenn with Treecko and Kalos with Froakie, but never got the other starters in those runs.

Solo Fire Starter is for next gen, this gen is for all three if the trend continues.

your referring to gen 9 and gen 8 by your wording right?

I got kind of confused there, sorry about that.

speaking of broken traditions, here's one i'd love to see (though I know a lot of people wouldn't like it, though it would fit the tone of some of the things preached in the sun and moon games) is Ash being convinced (possibly by Lusamine if she discovered it) to use his older pokemon in rotation with new ones, while his companions catch more of the new pokemon in his place. (i'd expect him to still get at least 2-3)

and no i'm not saying Ash should just rely on the big guns either, If this happened i'd like to see him use more of his rarely used guys (like Kingler) or those who can still grow like the unnova starters for example.

But still, there is no guarantee that Ash will get all 3 starters in the Gen 8 anime, especially if the female protag becomes a companion. Ash has never gotten all 3 starters when the female protagonist is one of his companions.

I think that pattern has been broken to some extent with Lana, while a protagonist, she's not the PC girl like May and Dawn were.
