Last night I finally found a Bagon on route 3. Well, unfortunately I knocked it out. I was so tired last night and my mind wasn't 100% there. I really want a Salemance.

Did the Aether Paradise today. I took my time exploring the new areas and getting some items I didn't/couldn't get last time I was there (yay, Toxic TM!). I battled a bunch of Aether employees and Team Skull members, using my Muk and Toucannon against most of their Pokemon. For the Guzma fight, I mainly used Toucannon, but I did switch to Golisopod to take down Pinsir.

Eventually, I reached Lusamine and watched some cutscenes before battling her. My Dugtrio was able to defeat three of her Pokemon, while Golisopod and Decidueye dealt with Lilligant and Bewear respectively. The battle was pretty easy, mostly because Lusamine just wouldn't stop switching. It was really weird, I don't think I've seen a main story battle where someone switched Pokemon that much...well, at least it gave my Pokemon a lot of free hits lol.

After winning that battle and watching some more cutscenes, I made it Seafolk Village, where I saved.

In addition to doing story stuff, I managed to max out my entire team's Affection the other day. Also, I've been spending some time on Poke Pelago. I got a Pinsir from it and have been growing lots of berries.

Maxing the alola pokedex before january despite my increasingly tight schedule.

Passed the 250 mark so shouldn't be too hard at all if I make good use of my limited free time.

Also mapped out a team to make for some mock battles, plan to start on that in between dex filling.

I explored Melemele Island again with Tauros in tow and then headed out to the second island and met Olivia and Mallow as well as got a Zygarde cube from Dexio. Next up was a quick trip to Route 4 before beating Hau once again in Paniola Town. I explored the Paniola Ranch and got an egg from the daycare. I couldn't head south because of some Sudowoodo so I headed north to Route 5 where I met a man named Gladion who wasn't so tough. After the battle I headed to Brooklet Hill and decided to mix up my planned team a bit by capturing my third team member, a Dewpider. I then headed back to the previous Route and beat the trainers I skipped with Dewpider before taking a break.

After 3 hours I have finally captured a Salamence on Route 3. I also defeated Mallow's trial. Right now my team is Green Arrow the Dartrix, Bray the Mudbray, Casper the Gengar, Xeon the Salamence.

Pokémon Sun: Explored Poni Island along with Lillie as we looked for a way to summon the legendary Pokémon of Alola. With Hapu's help, we got some leads. Had Machamp registered into the Ride Pager, and went to the Ruins of Hope. Lillie and I witnessed Hapu being chosen to become Poni Island's new Kahuna, receiving a Sparkling Stone of her own. We were then directed to Exeggutor Island, to find the other flute. Lillie and I bonded a bit as we explored Exeggutor Island, before finally finding the Sun Flute. As we headed back, we encountered Team Skull. I fought them off, and eventually Plumeria, who had been watching the battle, called off the other Team Skull members. She asked us to save Guzma, and gave me a Poison Z-Crystal. Kept heading forward and met up with Hapu, who as the new Kahuna, challenged me to a battle. I managed to defeat her, clearing the Grand Trial and receiving the Ground Z-Crystal.

Current team:

Minami (Primarina F - Level 49)
Miette (Tsareena F - Level 45)
Raiden (Pikachu M - Level 44)
Amarok (Lycanroc M - Level 44)
Vulcan (Growlithe M - Level 43)
Arlene (Persian F - Level 42)

So long
Played a little more yesterday night. I had to battle the strange thing that had appeared. It was pretty strong, I could barely damage it. In the end, it ran away and disappeared. According to Lusamine, it was an Ultra Beast, so that's really cool. She wanted to be the mother for those things too, what a kind and caring woman. Afterwards, I left the Aether Paradise with Hau, didn't get to explore much there at all.

We headed for the next Island, Ula'ula. It seems to be pretty large. Upon arriving, Hau challenged me to a battle. I won, but he was pretty strong, his Torracat was at level 29 which was the same as most of my team at this point. I also noticed that he had a Leafeon, I guess he gets an Eeveelution that has an advantage against the player's starter. Either way, I won. Didn't want to explore this place quite yet though as I had unfinished business on Akala.

Went back there and explored more of the resort and the hotel. I got to battle a few trainers at the hotel which was unexpected, they turned out to be quite strong too. Suddenly, my team felt underleveled and weak. This is odd, though I think I know the reasons for it, and it feels really weird how some design choices in the game can change simple things like that. I don't really mind though. While doing these battles, my Mudbray reached level 30 and evolved into Mudsdale! Yes! Hearts strong as horses! My third fully evolved team member. And that was all I did yesterday.

Today, I started by exploring the beach by Hano Resort. Beat all trainers, found several items as well as caught Staryu, Sandygast and Pyukumuku. Tried the part-time job consisting of throwing Pyukumuku back into the sea. It gave me some pretty good money, might keep doing it later on if there is no other good way to grind money in the game. Left since I was done there and returned to the Aether Paradise since I could go back there. Wanted to explore it a bit more but there wasn't a lot to see, I found an item though. Couldn't go everywhere which is understandable, you can't have children running around and causing mischief in such important places. Lusamine and the others know what they are doing.

Left and headed to Ula'ula for real this time. I played with Tsareena and Mudsdale in Pokemon Refresh until they had 5 hearts, the only one left to do it with now is Brionne, will get around to it once it has evolved fully. The Professor had told me to go to Malie Garden, so I went there. Picked up some items and battled some trainers there. This place surely is inspired by the east, some said it was because it was created by people from Johto. And the traditional feeling is one of the few things I like about Johto, so why not? I like it. Met the Professor, he told me to go to Route 10 and take a bus to get to my next Trial, which is held on a mountain, so off I went.

Met Lillie outside, she wanted me to go with her to the Library to look for a book. Before going there, I explored the city a little. Went to a restaurant and thought I would get to battle, but I just got 4 Heart Scales, which isn't too bad. Bought some new clothes at the store, including sunglasses since I wanted to try wearing them. Those aren't the type I want but they will have to do, I wanted aviators but they were too expensive when I saw them at a previous store, will have to get them later on.

I also met Samson Oak, a man who studies the Alola Forms. Continued to the Library, where I met him again, he wanted to see an Alolan Persian. I'll show him one once I have one, not going to rush it as I will get it someday. I got a Fly TM(!) from a woman here, guess this confirms that HMs are not used in these games... which I'm actually okay with, I think I prefer the Poke Rider over HMs. At the second floor, I met Lillie as well as another girl whose name I can't remember. We read a bit about various Alola legends in the books here, like the Tapu. Lunala was also mentioned once, really interesting stuff.

Left and headed out to Route 10. Battled all trainers here, picked up all items as well as caught Fearow, Ariados, Raticate and Skarmory. Speaking of Skarmory, it was without any doubt my hardest capture on this game so far. At the end, I met Team Skull again and smashed them. They were trying to steal the bus stop sign? I have a really hard time taking them seriously after all the silly things they are doing and the way they are acting. I don't understand them at all.

Took the bus to the top of the mountain with the Professor. We saw another mountain in the distance, he mentioned it being the highest or largest (maybe both?) in the region. I guess I'll get there one day too. He talked about how he wanted to create a Pokemon League in the region, which isn't a bad idea. I explored the mountain top a bit, battled all trainers and found all items. Including Apricorn balls, very interesting. Also caught Ditto and Cleffa. Tried to catch a Minior as well but it used Self-Destruct on the first turn. Then I met a Beldum as well. Wasn't sure if I should catch it or not, decided to at least try. To my own surprise, I managed to catch it pretty easily. This surprised me. I wondered if its catch rate had been increased since last generation, but no. Seems like I was just lucky, which feels great.

After this, I went to the Observatory. Met a man named Molayne who was an old friend of the Professor. Had to battle him in order to go in. He used Steel-types, I managed to win without trouble. Inside, I met Sophocles, who I had previously met in Festival Plaza. He was the captain of the Trial, which started now. It was another unique kind of Trial, which I really like. Unique and interesting. I'm very happy about the fact that I was leading with Salandit here, and along the way, it reached level 33 and evolved into Salazzle! Just at the right moment. The Totem Pokemon that Sophocles had summoned appeared, it was a Vikavolt. It was strong, but my newly evolved Salazzle nuked it into oblivion with a Nasty Plot-boosted Inferno Overdrive, not even an Occa Berry could help against that.

I had cleared the Trial, and for winning, I got the Electrium Z from Sophocles, as well as the Steelium Z from Molayne. I'm not planning to use either crystal on my team but there might be other uses for them later on. My next mission was to deliver a Mask to the Professor who had gone back to the Garden. I went there, and met not only him, but also more members from Team Skull. Including their leader, Guzma. Had to battle him, and he was really tough. His Golisopod surprised me in a good way, another odd Pokemon... which I love. I beat him and they left.

The Professor gave me a Z-Crystal to use for my Brionne once it has evolved... which should happen soon. I left, my next destination was Route 11 for the next Trial. But before going there, I decided to go to the recycling place north of the city. Battled all trainers there and caught a Trubbish. Decided to stop there for today, got quite a lot done in the end, will continue tomorrow.

I just caught pokerus for the first time since pokemon gold, does anyone know if it's still like a 1/21000 chance?

Also, I got it from Pheremosa. The pokemon that's supposedly afraid to touch anything because it's all too unclean gave me a disease xD

I have beat the Elite Four with some trouble because of my lack of more potions. My Pokemon were pretty much on par with their Pokemon.
There was also the annoyance of Pokemon with Sturdy and them using Full Restores. Became Alola's first-ever Champion and then there was all the dialogue after.
I have evolved some Pokemon for Pokedex including the grass starter and Talonflame.
Currently trying to see if I can get a Shiny through SOS battles. Trying for Vulpix at the moment. No luck yet. Started last night. Haven't went the Battle Tree yet.

Currently using to hunt Vulpix: (subject to change as I figure out best Pokes to use)

- So after winning against Hau at the festival in Iki town, I went home and saw Lillie the next day. I went south past the shore toward professor Kukui's lab next and beat trainers.
- Now close to Ten Carat Hill, I spoke with Kukui and he explained the Rotom Dex to me and when that was finished, I set off west to Hau'oli city, which was my next destination. :]
- I walked through the outskirts of Hau'oli and encountered Captain Ilima. I visited the Trainer's School as well and defeated four students nearby, as well as Emily the teacher last.

Today, I started by looking around Seafolk Village. After speaking to Lillie about what we needed to do next, I checked out all of the house boats around town and got the free Aerodactyl.

After that, I left town and started exploring more of Poni Island. I went to several new areas today: Poni Wilds, Ancient Poni Path, and the Poni Breaker Coast. I caught a Gastrodon while in the Poni Wilds to add to my Pokedex and battled a bunch of trainers. All the training I did allowed my entire team to reach level 50!

I saved when I met up with Lillie again at the Ruins of Hope.

Stand up, go for it
Finished the main story the other night... I REALLY enjoyed Sun. It's different, but not in a bad way. It's a breath of fresh air from a formula that... honestly didn't feel like it NEEDED to change, but now they have done I'm glad they did. A few things I liked;

*The serious effort put into Alola and it's history and lore. It's not Final Fantasy-level worldbuilding, but it's a hell of a lot more fleshed out than most of the other Pokemon games.
*The music is next-level, the outside songs are really relaxing and the battle music is intense. If I had to pick a favourite I would say Guzma's battle theme or the Tapu battle theme.
*The trial captains, like the trials themselves, are a lot more interesting than most gym leaders.
*Team Skull... enough said.

I've yet to do any of the postgame stuff yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Overall, a MASSIVE step up from XYORAS... talking of which, is it me or are these definitely some of the harder Pokemon games!? I never had to grind ONCE in X or AS, but in Sun I had to do it several times. The AI in these games seem a hell of a lot better.

Pokémon Sun: Made my way through Vast Poni Canyon, exploring as much of the area as I could and fighting trainers and collecting items. Met Mina on the way, who gave me a Fairy Z-Crystal. During my exploration of the area, I also ended up evolving my Growlithe, since he had learned the final move he would learn by level-up. Together with Lillie, I eventually made my way to the trial grounds, where I took on the Totem Kommo-o. Minami managed to take it down, and I got the Dragon Z-Crystal, clearing the trial. Lillie, Hapu and I are now at the Altar of the Sunne, and I guess it is nearly time to summon the legendary Pokémon.

Current team:

Minami (Primarina F - Level 50)
Arlene (Persian F - Level 47)
Raiden (Pikachu M - Level 47)
Amarok (Lycanroc M - Level 47)
Vulcan (Arcanine M - Level 46)
Miette (Tsareena F - Level 46)

Decided to Delete all my posts here and start over. Been having trouble choosing a team so i keep reseting my game.

Started with a Rowlet again this time. His name is Owl. Caught a Pichu on the way to Iki Town. Owl swept Hau's team though. Outside the Professors lab I caught Classic the Rattata. Got Classic up to level 9 before entering. At the Trainer School i caught a Meowth for Pick up. Classic swept most of the school except for Bonsly Trainer. Had less trouble against the Teachers Magnemite then expected. After getting the Poke Finder i activated the Festival Plaza. Then had some extra fun and caught two more Pichu for wondertrade. Got a Japanese Abra and German Makuhita in return. Meowth also had a Great ball for me, after i exited the Plaza. Headed down to the docks where Classic Swept Skull and Ilima. Deposited my Pichu, the Abra, and Makuhita before heading for Route 2. Defeated all the trainers in the Hau'oli Cemetery. Also, took some time for pictures with the poke finder. Caught a Drifloon and headed back to town.

Team
Owl - Rowlet lvl 14
Classic - Rattata lvl 13

Pokémon Sun: Lillie and I played the Moon and Sun Flutes, calling forth incredible power that revealed Nebby to be the legendary Solgaleo. With Nebby's/Solgaleo's help, Lillie and I were able to enter the Ultra Space. We soon met up with Guzma, who warned us about the place and about Lusamine's mental state. Even so, Lillie insisted that we go on and try to save her mother. We soon found Lusamine, still obsessed with Nihilgeo and the Ultra Space. Lusamine soon merged with the Nihilego she had captured, and I fought against her. Her Clefable ended up accidentally knocking itself out by using Lunar Dance via Metronome, which was kind of funny. Aside from that, her team posed quite the challenge. In the end, Minami finished off her last Pokémon (Milotic) with Oceanic Operetta. Figured I'd end the battle in style, you know?

After defeating Lusamine, Lillie called on Nebby/Solgaleo when Lusamine continued trying to attack us. Nebby/Solgaleo managed to separate Lusamine from the Nihilego she had merged with, and Lusamine finally seemed to return to her former self as Lillie went to check on her. Nebby/Solgaleo brought us all back to the real world, where we met up with Hapu. Hapu and Guzma took the unconscious Lusamine away so she could receive proper medical treatment, while Lillie and I prepared to bid Nebby/Solgaleo farewell. However, as it turned out, Nebby/Solgaleo wanted to keep travelling with us. Since Lillie isn't a trainer, she asked me to do it.

So, I caught Solgaleo, and while I don't normally nickname legendaries, I figured in this particular case, it was only right to name it Nebby. After catching Solgaleo, Lillie told me to take good care of Nebby from now on, before heading off to make sure her mother was okay. Nanu showed up, and told me about the Pokémon League, and I accepted his offer to escort me back to Tapu Village.

Been playing this game since release, just hit 68 hrs and currently in the Poni Canyon.

Been playing this series since Red & Blue came out in the US.

The Lycanroc I just caught is the first shiny I have ever seen. I just caught my first shiny.

. . . I found a shiny Lycanroc before finding a single gods damned Jangmo-o. Where the hell are they?

There is a dragon trial site at the end of the canyon. Defeat that trial and you can then catch one.

At least I think that's how it works.

While at work I caught Tapu Lele timid nature after two attempts while on break. When I got home I then proceeded to capture bold nature Tapu Fini after only a couple tries with good IVs. I've slowly been getting BP and have now purchased Power Anklet and Power Lens so I can start training my Tapu Lele.
