Oh, there are a lot of fun ways they could show off Pyukumuku. :p

Still hoping Hapu gets cut out in favor of an Ultra Kahuna, she is boring. I'm interested in how they'll handle Nanu, now that's a Kahuna to get excited about.....

And yes please to Type: Null. I hope we get him and Marowak's episode directly after Lana's episodes are finally over with. I don't want to wait through another filler.

Hapu plays a large enough role in the games that I doubt she gets cut.

Hapu was pretty much guiding Lillie around and being moral support for her.

Unfortunately, that role is already taken by Ash and those other non-Trial Captain kids, so now she has to deal with sounding like an antiquate person.

That, or the anime inflicts the "even our young Gym Leader children are completely clumsy people so they need an arc to better themselves with the main cast becoming their cheerleaders" move. (Chances are pretty high, given this season's focus on comedy.)

I agree. Considering that she's the 4th Kahuna in the games and chosen by a Tapu to be one, among other important things that she helps or reveals to the players, I can't see her being axed from the Anime as well. I do like her Pokemon too. As for Nanu, I'm sure we'll see him and his creepy smirk.

Well being SM, I'm sure they'll make it a disgustingly entertaining episode. They've had Ash barfing rainbows and shaking his booty, so I think they'll show Pyukumuku's innards out in a way that's mildly disgusting, but humorous.
That's what I'm afraid of--a disgustingly entertaining episode. My only consolation is that I've enjoyed most of SM's humor so far, so hopefully any episode with Pyukumuku won't be any different.

Hapu is too important a character to cut from the anime, and not just because she is a Kahuna. She is the one who tells the player about the Sun/Moon flutes, and she is the essentially Lillie's guide and moral support throughout the game. Even if she doesn't play the role of moral support for Lillie (since her classmates have essentially taken up that role), she can still serve as Ash's guide. And she is certainly not boring. IMHO, she is one of the most interesting characters in the games, and I hope her anime counterpart is just as interesting, with the same attitude. She is far more interesting a character to me than Nanu was.

IMHO, even if the anime does inflict the "even our young Gym Leader children are completely clumsy people so they need an arc to better themselves with the main cast becoming their cheerleaders" move, at least it would sort of make sense, since Hapu does through the "trial" of being chosen by Tapu Fini to be the Kahuna of Poni Island. I just hope they don't make her seem incompetent or less skilled in the process. :/

Being incompetent is mainly the reason why the young Gym Leaders are victims of this.

GOODNESS JUST REVOKE THEIR GYM LEADER LICENSE LEAGUE OFFICIALS.

I really hope and also i cant wait to see the masked royal in the anime :D . Who knows, probably ash is the only who knows the secret and the rest no.
Also, he wasnt married? at least in the games? Probably this is here where him can have other pokemons. Decidueye, incineroar or primarina with z move, but probably i hope a lot.
I think Hau can debut later like other rivals like barry, for example, so i dont lose the hope for him.

At least game Hapu acknowledged her inexperience (and then proved she wasn't incompetent and her Mudsdale wasn't just there as her Ride Pokémon).

Speaking of Ride Pokémon... I wonder if Hapu will also debut Ride Mudsdale. I hope she does, and it would sense if she does. Perhaps there is an off chance that Ash might recall that one other time he rode a horse Pokémon and assume that riding Mudsdale will be similar. I'm not at all getting my hopes up for that kind of continuity reference, though.

Yes, Professor Kukui was married in the games, but given that he isn't wearing his wedding ring, he does not appear to be married in the anime, which probably means Professor Burnet isn't likely to make an appearance. :( (Or, if she does, she and Kukui aren't married yet.) I wouldn't be surprised if we don't actually see the Masked Royal battle, but just see photos or videos of him in the Battle Royal venue.

To be honest, I think the chances of Hau appearing at this point are very slim. Ash's meeting Hala would have been the perfect time to introduce him, and Ash now has a rival in Gladion, so I don't know if Hau is even necessary at this point. I would still like to see him appear, though. He was a fun character in the games.

I think we won't see an actual Battle Royale, but I do think we'll see the Masked Royal in person, and for Ash's obliviousness to set in. As for Hau, yeah, it's probably too late and pretty pointless to introduce him at this stage, unless they do a Barry and introduce him really late into the series.

But with how hyperactive and carefree Hau is, if they do introduce him though, I just hope it's not like how Ash and Cameron interacted with each other. Seriously those two together made me lose my brain cells!

Hau is practically Ash except way peppier, but Ash's peppier attitude is surely a big no-no to Hau actually existing.

Hala should have said something like "you remind me of my grandson!" but he didn't. I don't think Hau exists here.

I don't think there is any need for concern that Nanu and Hapu will appear in the anime. Hala (2) and Olivia (3; so far, including SM32) showed up, why won't the remaining two Kahunas appear?

Well, it was sort of weird that a Darkinium Z was a Totem Pokemon's possession...and the fact there was a Dark-type Totem Pokemon at all. Does this either imply not all Z Crystals are officially handed down by Kahunas an anyone can hand them over, or other Totem Pokemon of different types that were never a thing in the games rule out a Kahuna from appearing? Then there's the fact we don't know how the Ultra versions will affect the rest of the anime since the anime adapted to new enhanced versions late into their episodes.

There are multiple Z-crystals so it's not weird at all. It only makes sense we see multiples of same types. And besides, in the games it is shown Guzma has a ton of Buginium-Zs so there are other ways to get it.

In regards to Nanu's grand trial, he could always just give Ash the Incinum Z instead of the Dark one.

Difference here being that it's a dubious choice for an example. Who's not to say there was so much more behind the scenes for Guzma in particular? It's very understandable Kahunas and Totem Pokemon have copies, but Guzma is a special example. He may have stolen all of them from the Kahunas.

Poor Icinium Z.

No one in the games besides the player uses it.

Anyway, with the Darkinium-Z already gone to major characters like TRio, either Nanu will give out the Incinium Z or Decidium Z, or they're already preparing for USUM, in which Nanu might not even have a role in those games, and thus never appearing in the anime as well.

Yeah, I was open to the totem and kahuna battles at the beginning of this show, but I am really missing gym battles.

Guzma only cares about the Buginium Z though. He couldn't care less about the other Z-Crystals Kahunas and Totem Pokemons have.

I don't think anyone in the anime can use the Icium Z besides maybe Lillie atm. Who am I kidding though? She needs a Z-Ring first to use it, which means there's a low chance the Icium Z may not be used in the anime either. But then again, if the anime is planning to feature every single Z-Move, then someone has to use it.

Tbh, I personally think it's the school format which really makes it seem this way. In the SM games, trials and grand trials replaces gyms, and many people actually liked them, myself included. There are actually 7 Totems + 4 Grand Trials, which is actually more battling than the standard 8 gym leaders. So if the anime still stuck to a travelling style with Trials and Grand Trials in place of gyms, it would've still been really good. This is all my personal feeling of course.
