Oh, there are a lot of fun ways they could show off Pyukumuku.

I agree. Considering that she's the 4th Kahuna in the games and chosen by a Tapu to be one, among other important things that she helps or reveals to the players, I can't see her being axed from the Anime as well. I do like her Pokemon too. As for Nanu, I'm sure we'll see him and his creepy smirk.Hapu plays a large enough role in the games that I doubt she gets cut.
That's what I'm afraid of--a disgustingly entertaining episode. My only consolation is that I've enjoyed most of SM's humor so far, so hopefully any episode with Pyukumuku won't be any different.Well being SM, I'm sure they'll make it a disgustingly entertaining episode. They've had Ash barfing rainbows and shaking his booty, so I think they'll show Pyukumuku's innards out in a way that's mildly disgusting, but humorous.
Hapu is too important a character to cut from the anime, and not just because she is a Kahuna. She is the one who tells the player about the Sun/Moon flutes, and she is the essentially Lillie's guide and moral support throughout the game. Even if she doesn't play the role of moral support for Lillie (since her classmates have essentially taken up that role), she can still serve as Ash's guide. And she is certainly not boring. IMHO, she is one of the most interesting characters in the games, and I hope her anime counterpart is just as interesting, with the same attitude. She is far more interesting a character to me than Nanu was.Still hoping Hapu gets cut out in favor of an Ultra Kahuna, she is boring. I'm interested in how they'll handle Nanu, now that's a Kahuna to get excited about.....
IMHO, even if the anime does inflict the "even our young Gym Leader children are completely clumsy people so they need an arc to better themselves with the main cast becoming their cheerleaders" move, at least it would sort of make sense, since Hapu does through the "trial" of being chosen by Tapu Fini to be the Kahuna of Poni Island. I just hope they don't make her seem incompetent or less skilled in the process. :/That, or the anime inflicts the "even our young Gym Leader children are completely clumsy people so they need an arc to better themselves with the main cast becoming their cheerleaders" move. (Chances are pretty high, given this season's focus on comedy.)

At least game Hapu acknowledged her inexperience (and then proved she wasn't incompetent and her Mudsdale wasn't just there as her Ride Pokémon).Being incompetent is mainly the reason why the young Gym Leaders are victims of this.
GOODNESS JUST REVOKE THEIR GYM LEADER LICENSE LEAGUE OFFICIALS.
Yes, Professor Kukui was married in the games, but given that he isn't wearing his wedding ring, he does not appear to be married in the anime, which probably means Professor Burnet isn't likely to make an appearance.I really hope and also i cant wait to see the masked royal in the anime. Who knows, probably ash is the only who knows the secret and the rest no.
Also, he wasnt married? at least in the games? Probably this is here where him can have other pokemons. Decidueye, incineroar or primarina with z move, but probably i hope a lot.
I think Hau can debut later like other rivals like barry, for example, so i dont lose the hope for him.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't actually see the Masked Royal battle, but just see photos or videos of him in the Battle Royal venue.
To be honest, I think the chances of Hau appearing at this point are very slim. Ash's meeting Hala would have been the perfect time to introduce him, and Ash now has a rival in Gladion, so I don't know if Hau is even necessary at this point. I would still like to see him appear, though. He was a fun character in the games.
I don't think there is any need for concern that Nanu and Hapu will appear in the anime. Hala (2) and Olivia (3; so far, including SM32) showed up, why won't the remaining two Kahunas appear?
There are multiple Z-crystals so it's not weird at all. It only makes sense we see multiples of same types. And besides, in the games it is shown Guzma has a ton of Buginium-Zs so there are other ways to get it.
In regards to Nanu's grand trial, he could always just give Ash the Incinum Z instead of the Dark one.
Difference here being that it's a dubious choice for an example. Who's not to say there was so much more behind the scenes for Guzma in particular? It's very understandable Kahunas and Totem Pokemon have copies, but Guzma is a special example. He may have stolen all of them from the Kahunas.
Poor Icinium Z.
No one in the games besides the player uses it.
Yeah, I was open to the totem and kahuna battles at the beginning of this show, but I am really missing gym battles.
