Super Mario Bros. Deluxe Glitch?

So i was replaying SMBDX in real life, when i noticed that near the left-top of the screen, when you pass a brick, a small section blinks blue really fast.

but when i was testing the rom version, that part of the screen looked fine under a brick.

so i dont know if it is a hardware glitch for the top part to blink blue, or whether i have a pirate cart of the game.

the cartridge looks perfectly normal

Something like this is extremely minor. Definitely nothing to get all panicked about. Your game is probably dirty or just getting old. It doesn't matter how the game "looks". A game's performance depends on the connection between the cartridge and the system, which is those metal things inside of the bottom of the cart.

On old NES game, graphical glitches such as when the screen is scrolling happen on the game, but not on the ROM. It's nothing at all.

LOL - I still have this game on my GBC

Yeah, nothing to worry about. Just remember, with the old stuff - you have to blow. (I know you pervs...)

Man, why did I trade this game for Pokémon Gold those years ago?

Like the others said, it's not too serious. Nothing that means that the file will be corrupted or something like that.
