Super Mario® Galaxy (temporary name)

Format: Wii™
Launch Date: TBA
ESRB: RP (Rating Pending)
Game Type: Action Platformer
Accessories: Wii Remote and Nunchuk Controller
Players: 1-2
Developer: Nintendo

KEY INFORMATION

The ultimate Nintendo hero is taking the ultimate step … out into space. Join Mario™ as he ushers in a new era of video games, defying gravity across all the planets in the galaxy.
• Shake, tilt and point! Mario takes advantage of all the unique aspects of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller, unleashing new moves as players shake the controller and even point at and drag items with the pointer.
• Mario essentially defined the 3-D platforming genre with Super Mario® 64, and this game proves once again that he is king. Players perform mind-bending, low-gravity jumps across wild alien terrain as they experience platforming for a new generation.

Game storyline: When some creature escapes into space with Princess Peach, Mario gives chase, exploring bizarre planets all across the galaxy.

Characters: Mario, Peach and enemies new and old.

How to progress through the game: Players run, jump and battle enemies as they explore all the planets in the galaxy. Since this game makes full use of all the features of the Wii Remote, players have to do all kinds of things to succeed: pressing buttons, swinging the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk, and even pointing at and dragging things with the pointer.

Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Since he’s in space, Mario can perform mind-bending jumps unlike anything he’s done before. He’ll also have a wealth of new moves that are all based around tilting, pointing and shaking the Wii Remote.

It's not, it was shown at the E3 conference.

Anyway, it looks good, but I'll have to see a lot more of it before I decide on getting it or not.

.... you're joking, right?

This is seriously a game?

Hmm... I'm doubtful, but here's to hoping it's a good Mario title *crosses fingers*

Another game I'm going to get. I hope this is the next 3D Mario platformer. Looks really neat.

Well I never thought Mario would go to space. Its just not a Mario type game. Well...at least its...different. Mario should be staying on Earth though, it already has unique elements of gameplay and doesn't need to go into the overated cliche outerspace to be good. Well I'll need to find out more before I judge. Luckily I have New Super Mario Bros to look forward to.

Hey! Listen!
Seems like Super Mario Sunshine in space. If Tatanga or whatever his name is isn't in this game, I'm gonna be so angry!

So this is the new incarnation of Super Mario 128. It seems awesome, and I am sure it will rock. Man, I can't wait for the Wii.

I'm glad at least someone's played at least one of the Mario Lands. Haven't you people played Mario Land 2? The Space Zone was like pwnage! Mario In Space is nothing new. ;) I hope this game is at least in the same ballpark as Mario 64; it certainly has the potential to be.

I hope we hear a remix of the Space Zone boss stage music. It was like this totally awesome techno. ^o^

This game does look really impressive. I am rather excited about it. The names a bit wired at first but I've already gotten used to it, and like it. The contols look very good as well.

Hey look, that game we were supposed to get several years ago finally came out!!

Not rabidly excited, but as some vaguely-loyalist to Nintendo guy, I'm probably obligated in some way or another to keep an eye on this one.

Well, looks like Mario is living up to his old name, Jumpman in this game. I might actually buy this, depending on any other information that's released.

The level design seems somewhat reminisant of the 'No Fludd allowed!' stages from Mario Sunshine, though on a much greater and far more impressive scale. The combination of interplanitary adventuring and Mario isn't the sort of idea that seems anything short of bizzare at first, but I can see a lot of good coming out of this. Especially with the odd gravitational elements thrown in. Looks to be the provider of some challenging platform fun~

Onion?
Are you people seriously doubting this game? I'm not.

The artwork and graphics look beautiful, the gameplay fluid and enjoyable, and an original concept. Not to mention that good ol' Mario platforming we've grown to know and love. :)

Im not sure about this game from the looks of it. It doesn't entirely interest me. I guess I'll have to hear more about it later to see if I like it.

This seems quite interesting. Let's just hope that Nintendo doesn't screw this one up like they did SMS.

Nintendo mistrake with the GameCube was not releasing a Mario game until 2002. I hope Super Mario Galaxy become a sucessful game.
