• Hi all
Just a notice, we recently discovered that someone got into a moderator account and started hard deleting a load of key and legacy threads...around 150 threads have been lost dating back to 2007 and some weeks ago so we can't roll the forums back.
Luckily no personal data could be accessed by this moderator, and we've altered the permissions so hard deleting isn't possible in the future
Sorry for any inconvenience with this and sorry for any lost posts.

Her contest gimmick (in the anime, at least) was double contests, wasn't it? So she sends out two random pokeball pokemon.

THAT WAS A RHETORICAL QUESTION. STOP COMING UP WITH POINTS FOR DATTEBAYO TO USE. Besides, they'd probably base it on the games

Just thought that Stunfisk would be good as a Poké Ball Pokémon being like a Pitfall Trap, but using Discharge to hold them in place and damage them at the same time.

Would also like to see Sigilyph and Yanmega in some form.

She could send out a Pokeball, and one of her Pokemon uses an appeal, with Skitty using a random one.

On a more serious note, why did they get rid of the end of match bonuses? They were awesome. Plus style matches were great to do when you did them without telling your friends. LOLE

Honestly, I hope they remove the stupid 3 Pokeball and 1 Assist Trophy limit. If there's anything that pissed me off about Brawl, that was it. Well, that and the Subspace Emissary.

YES. My favourite event in Melee was Legendary Pokémon and I loved having only Poké Balls on High for all the chaos it caused, so I was disappointed when I learned of the cap in Brawl.

Then again, can you imagine simultaneous Shadow and Devil?

Yes! I miss being able to go into Training, spawn like 20 Pokeballs and let all hell break loose.

And what do you mean the SSE pissed you off? The SSE was awesome!

Only reason I'm not playing Brawl right now is I can't put items up all the way and cause my Wii to freeze from 10 Pokeballs and multiple Assit Trophies going at the same time. And screw Devil and Shadow combo, I want Nintendog, Devil, Resetti, and Togepi using Nightshade at the same time.

D'you remember when Super Smash Bros. was just a kid playing with his toys, and not trying too hard to be taken seriously? Clamps remembers.

...what, seriously? They attempt a story mode to varying degrees of success and they're "trying too hard to be taken seriously"?

You can do better than that, Clamps.

FYI, Sakurai wanted an SSE-like adventure mode in the very first game. Not that crap Adventure mode Melee had; he wanted a full story-driven adventure mode. Like SSE. That's how Smash Bros was always intended.

And besides, seeing the interaction between characters from all these different universes is what makes Smash Bros great.

No, the unnecessary spinning before throwing the Stand was.

That too.

(unrelated topic: Just bought a preowned PSP just so I could play Dissidia Duodecim and Final Fantasies 7 to 9 for the first time, as well as the updated FFIV:tAY. Good idea?)

I'm sorry, I just can't justify putting effort into my bullshitting if doing it half-assedly is going to get me results like this. Besides, I was kinda tired at the time.

FYI, Pokemon originally had 190 different Pokemon. Doesn't change the fact that the final product only had 151 different monsters.

Hence "varying degrees of success". No one's saying it was perfect. Yes, it was long and drawn out and a grind at times, and the Great Maze alone kills any and all good will and momentum generated by what came before it. None of that translates to "trying too hard", however, and had they not introduced the concept of a story mode as they did, no doubt cries of "they didn't try hard enough!" would have been heard among the squawking and clamoring.

I fail to see your point here. I was pointing out that fact to show that the SSE wasn't just added on carelessly or spur-of-the-moment. It was planned since the days of the original Smash Bros, and certainly didn't "try too hard." I have no idea where you got that from.

My impression of Great Maze? LOL What's the best way to pretty much ruin SSE for most people? I know, let's have them replay every level, and have them interconnected in a way that makes no sense, and causes them to spend 90+ minutes figuring out where to go. LOL It's genius.

And I was pointing out that just because something was "originally intended" to be in the game doesn't change the fact that it wasn't originally there. Smash Bros. is not a serious fighting game, it's a game with a plumber, a rat, an elf and a pink vacuum cleaner with a bunch of funny hats fighting to the death. Doing a serious story is not something that should be considered viable.
