They should get rid of Kirby too. He copies other people's B move. What a clone.

As for real discussions, what games, that aren't Pokemon B/W, SMG(2), DKCR, Kirby Wii, etc. (the obvious ones) do you want to see represented by a stage? Personally I want Ballon Fight, Golden Sun (any of the 3), and Yoshi's Cookie stages.

woot21 out dawgs

I'd love a Paper Mario stage, even if Paper Mario doesn't get in. Everything would be so charming and flat. They could make it Rogue Port or Toad Town. I also want to see a REAL Fire Emblem stage. Give us a battlefield with a huge war going on in the background! Millions of soldiers and wyvern knights and cavaliers and archers going at it! How about a Chibi Robo stage, too? The kitchen can be super huge.

The new one is MUCH better, don't you think?
It sounds cooler, perhaps, but the old one is a little more realistic, to me.
Yarn Kirby
Wow, I never even thought of that! As horrible as that seems to me, personally, that might just happen! It would be more likely as a costume, though, I think. In that case, it might be pretty cool!
As completely awesome as Bowser Jr. is, I'm not sure he's relevant enough to get in.
Anymore, he's pretty much the fourth character of the series, unless one counts Toad or Yoshi, which are both already represented in some way. I'd say he's qualified!
can actually see him as a good fighter.
I can't, actually, even though I support him. How would he be good? I'm curious.
I'd prefer King K. Rool over Dixie for a new DK rep.
I would, too, even though he apparently has been taken out once and for all in the DKC games. Then again, I didn't see any sign of her, either, so that could mean nothing, especially considering the series's history.
I'd also prefer certain Kongs, such as Lanky or Tiny, over Dixie as well.
FUNKY! Hey, he got into Mario Kart somehow, didn't he? So I'd say he just might somehow stand a chance of getting in, even if it's really low! Besides, how cool would that be? Cap'n Falcon vs. Funky Kong would be the match of the century.
Though that might just be me.
Nope.
How many characters do y'all think will be in this one?
51.
I would say somewhere between 43-48.
I'd say that sounds pretty good, too, but no Jimmy T.? No!!
Meowth and Mewtwo (If I remember correctly) also had unfinished codes.
Not Meowth, but Mewtwo was definitely supposed to come back!
Dixie Kong
Roy
Bowser Jr.
Shadow
Zoroark
Poliwhrath (He can maybe confuse oppenents)
Wait, what? Three of those don't very much sense...
Poliwhirl is Satoshi's favorite Pokemon, yet he wasn't added in the original game as a playable character to promote the series.
Of course not, as he was not being promoted as heavily as the likes of Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, etc. Victini is not only Masuda's favorite, but also one who is pushed a lot. It may not be all that likely, but I stand by my claim that he is very possible, compared to most others.
It was PRAMAI, DIXIE, TOON ZELDA, Mewtwo, and Roy.
And Dr. Mario, I think. But who really cared about that one?
Mewtwo and Roy are most likely just leftover data from Melee
I would think so, too, if it weren't for Mewtwo's Classic Mode picture and selection sound data.
Meta-Knight has a bad FS but incredible everything else
The thing that's always been the funny part about Meta Knight to me is that while everyone says that he's way overpowered and pretty much the best character, I'm terrible with him. Along with Falco and Marth, he is one of my least used characters. I just can't win with them (except for when I get lucky with Falco, occasionally)! But give me Game & Watch or Pikachu, and I can win any day! Anyway, so, to me, it's always laughable to think that MK is the best character. But that, of course, is definitely just me.
Jigglypuff's terrible Final Smash and terrible everything else in Brawl pokes a hole in your theory.
Maybe they were just trying to kill her off!
Fox and Falcon
I'm pretty sure you mean "Falco."
Something else I would like to see would be unlockable alternate costumes
Unlockable? No. But default? Yes!
a Dr. Mario outfit, which replaces fireballs with Megavitamins, the cape with the Super Sheet, and generally makes him act like his Melee counterpart minus the slight stat changes.
I had the same idea (as did many others), but without the new moves, too. I think different character models are enough, with new attack models, as well.
It's definitely spam if you're doing it during an online match.
Or any other match?
Hey, this is just like how my ideas were treated in that other thread! Totally ignored.
Hey, join the club, buddy. Except that for me, my ideas were actually listened to in that other thread. I'm not sure if we're talking about the same "other thread," but I do know that in mine there were more people that I'm actually familiar with, though, which probably contributed to the larger amount of attention I was given.
Charizard should get kicked out because he shares a B move with Bowser. And I really don't like how Lucario is a clone of Marth, because they have a similar vB move. Hell, let's get rid of Jigglypuff, Metaknight, Pit, and Dedede because they all have Kirby's jump! And while we're at it, lets kick out Peach and Diddy Kong because they both spawn an item with their vB moves.
Exactly! I like the way you think. Begone with them! OFF WITH THEIR TROPHY STANDS!
I think your sarcasm detector is broken, bro.
Oh, yeah, definitely. No offense.
We ignore your ideas because you say the same stuff over and over again.
But I don't! Usually! Then again, I bury mine among other stuff that a lot of people don't really want to read, most likely, so I suppose I'm my own undoing. However, I'd rather be my replying-self than someone who gets replies, himself, so I'll never change! Well, most likely, at least.
I'm not big on YouTube Abridged series, so I'm not sure what this means. What is it?
Kinda went over that already.

Yeah, I know, right? See, this is exactly what we're talking about.

The kitchen can be super huge.
That would be so cool! I want that. Especially if Chibi-Robo actually finds his way into the fray! On that "giant-sized" note, what will we get for Pikmin, this time, I wonder? I liked seeing the garden on Distant Planet, so I have a feeling whatever else they come up with will be similarly interesting, as long as they keep signs of civilization somewhere in the locale.
I think that was the joke.
I think that was a glitch, but I'm not sure.

Quad-posting sort of helps prove his point about posting the same stuff over and over.

That was one part joke, another part because my phone's a freakin' jackass. I remember hitting the "Submit Reply" button only once on that damned machine, but apparently it thought I meant "submit four times".

It was an accident at first, but it made a good, ironic joke in its place. Too bad such a joke breaks the rules, else I'd keep the copies.

They should get rid of Kirby too. He copies other people's B move. What a clone.

Ooh! Ooh! Ike's Up Special is incredibly similar to Kirby's! Boot him!

...I think Ike might actually be gone by the next SSB, and I wouldn't complain.

Hell yeah, material so I'm not just posting the same crap over and over again!

Oh wait. I've exhausted all of my stage ideas in the other thread. They were all Metroid stage ideas, too.

Hm. I'll list the ones I recall giving a detailed description for:

Sector 1 (scratch this, it is replaced with SR388 idea)
Retro Zebes (one of my best if I recall correctly)
SR388 (also one of my best)
Impact Crater
Sector 6 (I remember you read this one, woot)
Tourian
Maridia

...And that's all I remember giving detailed stage ideas for. Since my old descriptions are long gone (aside from Retro Zebes, SR388, and Sector 6), I could easily redraft the ideas for you guys so I'm not just posting the same crap again and again.

Hey! I remember posting a Tetris stage idea that everyone loved! Now, to find where I posted it... (as in what page, it's pretty obvious it's on the old SSB4 thread I think)

Quick question for BCVM22... would it be legal for SSB to represent Tetris?

It has to be one of the greatest ironys that he quad-posted when defending himself of allegations of being repeticious.

You know it foo.

Also, I wasn't defending myself, was reiterating my acknowledgement of the fact. Though now you can argue that I'm defending myself right here, so I'll stop right now.

I think that was the joke.

Yes, it was one part joke, other part accident. I love how it turned out, though. Too bad I had to erase it from the thread. :(

Also, this (the ignoring thing) happened in the other thread too. Ironically again, I was posting the same ideas several times because I got no replies the first, second, third, or however many times I posted it. Exceptions were my Omega Metroid and Ridley movesets, which I reposted here due to age.

Anyway, I'll bite with a few stage ideas, drafted on the spot (meaning they might be different from previous versions if you ever read those).

...Except for Retro Zebes, that idea was just too awesome to throw away (in my opinion, though it got few replies for the one time I posted it).

The only thing I'm altering is unlocking requirements.

New Stage: Retro Zebes

Universe: Metroid
Game?: Metroid (1986)
Home Stage of?: All Metroid reps
Fought on when you fight (whom) in Classic/All-Star Mode?: 0% chance for Samus (other 50% goes to Tourian, 10% chance goes to Maridia); 20% chance for Ridley (40% goes to Tourian, 30% goes to Impact Crater, 10% goes to Maridia)
Unlocking requirements (only one is required to unlock the stage):

  • Beat All-Star Mode as all Metroid reps (Samus [ZSS optional], Ridley, and Omega Metroid) and get Kraid's trophy (he's a boss, so just remember that).
  • Brawl 800 times as Samus or 500 times as Ridley or 200 times as Omega Metroid (CPUs representing these characters in brawls do not count toward this number).

Music:

ALL original 8-Bit tracks from the first Metroid game are available as music tracks for this stage (all of which are unaltered), plus:

  • Brinstar Vegetation/Green (from Super Metroid; 8-Bit remix)
  • Ridley's Theme (8-Bit remix)

Description: It's like the old 1986 Metroid, 8-Bit default music, 8-Bit sprites, and all. It starts as a scrolling stage. You begin the fight on the shrine Samus starts off on in Brinstar, and the stage scrolls at a moderate speed until you reach the door on the right. Zoomers crawl across the sides of the room, causing 10% damage. They can be killed. The scrolling stops until someone breaks the hatch open. The hatch pulls everyone in, and it does the room change sequence. The next room is a fork in the road. You can continue right and go to the large vertical hall, or you can break the ground and go to Kraid's lair. Until you choose, the fight will remain in this room.

If you go right: This phase will be like the old Ice Climber stage in Melee, minus the ice. It starts to scroll slowly upward, with Zoomers and Rippers (brown floaty dudes that were indestructible in the first game) in the way. Zoomers can be killed, whereas the Rippers can't. Eventually, the stage stops at another hatch, and when you enter it, everyone gets on a platform that goes downward into Norfair. (yes I know this is largely different from the actual layout, just bear with me). In Norfair, it scrolls across many platforms with lava beneath it, and Ripper II's and the airhole bugs pop out of nowhere and pose a large threat (Ripper II's do 10% damage each hit, and the airhole bugs do 5%). You will also see vertical halls that go downward. When you reach the bubbly-ish rooms, you are close to Ridley's lair. When you enter it, it will take you almost immediately to Ridley. Ridley does precisely what he does in the original Metroid; flutter up and down, firing a wall of fireballs at you. He can die, he just takes a lot of hits. (I will lol when I see playable Ridley [who hopefully will have his SM model] killing retro Ridley) After beating him and going to the room behind him, you will get on a platform that goes up this time. You will enter Kraid's lair. In Kraid's lair, you fight Kraid almost immediately. He will fling spikes mercilessly at you. If everyone attempts to kill him all at once, he will die in a few seconds. After so, you will go to the long upward room that comes after Kraid. Try and maneuver your way up without dying. >D

If you go to Kraid's lair first: See above, and reverse it.

When both Ridley and Kraid are defeated, you will return to Brinstar and take a VIP trip to Tourian. Tourian keeps its original layout, with fewer Metroids. EASTER EGG: The classic Metroids don't attempt to hurt Omega Metroid. When you reach Mother Brain, the fight will continue from there unless you manage to keep a projectile specialist with you; only projectiles will damage it. Mother Brain will die EXTREMELY shortly, and the bomb sets off. No time limit, though. But the stage scrolls faster when going up the escape route. So be quick. When you get to the top, a large hole busts from underneath you and the other players, and you drop back to the shrine. Rocks pile up from above you, and the stage cycles again.

The only (semi)complaint I got out of this stage was that it likely wouldn't translate well (I believe you said this, woot), but I don't see why. I see it working perfectly. It would be banned from a competitive standpoint, of course (scrolling stage, constant lack of blast lines many times), but I think it'd still be fun: like an adventure each match.

This stage is more for Stock Battles, because a timed match, unless long enough, will barely offer enough time to get through the stage.

New Stage: Impact Crater

Universe: Metroid
Game?: Metroid Prime
Home Stage of?: Ridley (partially)
Fought on when you fight (whom) in Classic/All-Star Mode?: 30% chance for Ridley (20% goes to Retro Zebes, 40% chance for Tourian, 10% chance for Maridia)
Unlocking Requirements:

  • Beat Adventure Mode (I think they should bring it back, but as another mode, not replacing anything [as the SSE replaced it]) as Ridley or Omega Metroid on Normal difficulty

Music:

  • Meta Ridley Theme (original)
  • Ridley Theme (rearrangement)
  • Tallon Overworld (original; and I mean the second theme to go with it, not the Brinstar rearrangement that initially characterizes it)
  • Metroid Prime Battle Theme (remix)
  • Hive Mecha/Incinerator Drone Theme* (original)
  • Space Pirate Theme (from the Prime series, particularly the first one)

*The Hive Mecha/Incinerator Drone Theme is the most epic music in all of the Metroid series. This cannot and shall not be denied.

First Phase: The fight begins on a totally flat surface, which is the temple-like structure on which you battle Meta Ridley (though due to Ridley's playability and ability to have a Meta Ridley texture for a costume/color, Meta Ridley does not make an appearance as a stage hazard). The fight is simple, and the only difference between the stage and Final Destination (at this point in the stage) is the scenery, which would include rain. After a time, the statues in the background will fire beams at the stage, which will cause fire damage to whoever touches it.

Second Phase: Then, the stage switches to the middle layer of the Impact Crater, with all of the goop and mutated Metroids. (Easter Egg: Omega Metroid will not be attacked by the Metroids, but it can still be damaged collaterally if in range of a "worthy" [lol] opponent). The Metroids do not latch onto your head, rather they whip you with their tentacle (I'm talking about Hunter Metroids, even though they didn't necessarily appear in this part of the game). Fission Metroids do appear, but they just float around in the background.

Third Phase: The fight goes to Metroid Prime's Lair. The Metroid Prime attacks players from in the background with many elemental attacks, changing its color to correspond with the most recently-used elemental attack. Occasionally, the Metroid Prime will ram the stage, and ram back to its original position. The ram causes moderate damage. As it is part of the background, it cannot be damaged (even when it appears vulnerable after ramming).

Fourth Phase: The fight finally goes to the heart of the Impact Crater, where you battle Metroid Prime's core essence. The essence floats around in the background, occasionally hitting the stage to damage players (doesn't hurt a terrible amount). It also spawns Phazon pits in random locations on the stage, which if touched, will constantly cause damage to the player whom made contact.

New Stage: SR388

Universe: Metroid
Game?: Metroid II: Return of Samus
Home Stage of?: 90% chance for Omega Metroid (10% goes to Maridia)
Fought on when you fight (whom) in Classic/All-Star Mode?: Omega Metroid
Unlocking Requirements (only one needs to be accomplished to unlock this stage):

  • Unlock Omega Metroid
  • Brawl as Samus 350 times (it takes 388 brawls with anyone involved to unlock Omega Metroid)

Music:

  • Main Tunnel (Rearrangement)
  • Metroid Battle Music (Remix)
  • Queen Battle (Rearrangement)
  • Sewers (Rearrangement)
  • Sector 1 (Rearrangement)
  • Emperor Ing Phase One (Original)
  • Metroid II Ending + Credits (Rearrangement; when I say ending I mean when you meet the hatchling)

Description: Basically a cavern stage. You start at the top of the main tunnel, which has platforms and what not. Beneath you is lava. The lava doesn't raise, however; it only lowers. In the back, you may see Metroids of all metamorphic stages floating/walking (depending on the metamorphic stage; Omega Metroid does not appear in the background) about, as well as X Parasites. You may even see Metroids prey on the X Parasites. You can also see other enemies like Hornoads and other species native to the planet, with some of the enemies even appearing directly on stage and capable of damaging you. After about sixty seconds, the lava level lowers, and the screen scrolls downward until you reach the next pit of lava. (this is what happens in Metroid II when Samus kills a certain number of Metroids, allowing her to move on) The fight continues here, and the fight will get more hostile. You now fight next to the entrance of the water treatment plant, with the tunnel leading into it and the Metroid shell under it. Before the lava level lowers again, Arachnus rolls through the tunnel in ball form, then jumps onto the stage, attacking players. Players can beat Arachnus up, but only two things will kill it: knocking it into the lava, or bomb-based attacks. (Samus's Morph Ball Bombs, Link's Bombs, Bomberman's Bombs [if he becomes a playable character], Bob-Ombs, etc.) The only way you could kill Arachnus in Metroid II was with Morph Ball Bombs, so yeah. The lava level lowers even further, causing a deeper stroll downward. At the end of this one, there is a large pillar that leads into the sewers area. On the other side is more lava. This phase offers a larger standing platform, and no gimmicks besides the lava. When the lava lowers again, you take an even deeper stroll, thus introducing even more hostile creatures. At the end of this scroll, you will see a large black hole in the background, that which soon the Metroid Queen pops her head out of. The Queen** submerges and emerges from the hole periodically, snapping at players on-screen and spitting acid. The snapping is about equivalent to Ultimate Chimera's damage, causing the same result; however, it is not very precise, and is rather well telegraphed, meaning it's easy to predict. The acid is also very slow, but considerably more damaging than Omega Metroid's Standard Special (Predigestional Acid), which is much faster.

*Throughout the SR388 stage, you will endure the creatures inside the main tunnel. These creatures will deal minor damage (2-5% each hit) to you, but you can also kill them.

**The Queen cannot be killed, however she can be temporarily subdued for quite some time with a few Bomb-based attacks to her mouth (slightly inaccurate, since the only time bombs would damage her in either in-game appearance was when Samus was in her stomach). The Queen shows a damaged reaction (i.e. she flashes orange/red) when hit correctly. The Queen can be subdued for up to two minutes.

***An Easter egg would be if the Queen kills an Omega Metroid player by sending it into the background (a star KO, basically), the Queen retracts her head a slight bit, growls, and sounds/looks confused. Furthermore, the Omega Metroid's normal Fusion-esque roar that would characterize its star KO in normal circumstances would be much more confused in nature.

Like Retro Zebes, this stage is also more for Stock Battles. And it would likely be competitively banned too (competitive minds hate scrolling stages).

I'll post my Tetris, Maridia, and Tourian stages later...

Victini is an odd case. While I don't think he'll be a playable character by any means, I don't really know if I'd count him out because he's an event Pokemon, although he technically is, due to the fact that anyone could get him if they just had access to Wi-Fi at the launch of the game, as opposed to months later with other event Pokemon. And yeah, Manaphy was revealed the same way, but he actually "felt" like more of an event, due to you needing another game to "distribute" him.

I really don't want Victini as a character (its too small).

Dude. Olimar.

Well, at least we have Game & Watch! That means I'll still have one of my two mains (the other being Bowser)! Woohoo!

And Omega Metroid, according to my moveset, would be fine too... none of its specials rip-off someone else.

Ridley might suffer, but at least I twisted his Standard Special to be at least somewhat original.

I love your idea for the Impact Crater, even though I'm not a Metroid fan. (I still need to pick up the Metroid Prime Trilogy!) I like the idea of the stage going into different phases, and the Metroid Prime getting involved as a hazard, similar to Dialga and Palkia. I can tell your a big Metroid fan, so I assume you know what you're talking about. I'm sorry for ignoring some of your posts. You have really good ideas!

Even if Little Mac doesn't get in(come on now, he's practically confirmed), would we get sort of a boxing ring stage? I wonder how well that might translate to Smash Bros. Don't forget about The Rolling Western having a stage! (And Jiro, I hope)

Personally I would like to see a Yarn Kirby Stage.

Maybe set it apart from Green greens and other castle stages by making it based off of the Dino Jungle stage.

You forgot that the Ice Climbers' Side B involves spinning like Bowser's Up B and that Mr. Game and Watch and Peach are clones of each other because their Up Bs both involve going high into the air then floating down. So yeah, just Pikachu. Oh wait, Pikachu's FS involves flying around the screen and pressing A to change its effect, just like Yoshi, so it's out too. :p

BTW, Ike has no chance of leaving, he's the most popular FE Lord in Japan.

What would make you think that?

Fans speculated Deoxys and Darkrai, both event Pokemon, to be playable in Brawl for gen representation purposes (Gen 3 missed out, though you could argue that Red is representing that gen with his FR/LG outfit) until the fact that Deoxys became an assist trophy and Darkrai became a plain trophy. This brings to my conclusion that only Pokemon who are catchable in their own games without the use of a limited event are allowed to be playable. This statement makes sense with Pikachu, Jigglypuff, the Kanto starters, Mewtwo, and Lucario (in this case, as a Riolu) being available to catch in their own games.

This good?

Most likely though, they're probably asking whether or not it's ok for SSB to have a Tetris stage in, probably without permission.

I'm probably wrong though, and reading out of context again.
