Super Training/EV/IV Thread

Dunno if anyone has tried but using the EXP share and a power item i.e the power anklet and battling hordes (of five of the same poke) also makes for very quick effort value training

Regardless I really enjoy the Super training as it make EV training much easier to keep tack of and accessible while not being a drag like normal ev training in past games

All its need is exact EV values for the next game :)

It's so difficult to train my Helioptile in Super Training. It uses the rapid-fire ball thing and it's impossible to get anything done with it. 'Cuz the moment I get a higher score, I get smacked with a ball from the Balloon Bot and I lose all my progress.

I have the EXACT same problem with my Helioptile, and it's driving me crazy. What makes a Pokemon do the rapid-fire thing versus the regular type of ball? I can clear a lv 3 Super Training in about 20 seconds with a regular ball, but I can't even get close to passing a lv 2 Super Training with the rapid-fire ball. Does anyone have any advice for this?

I'm pretty sure it's just determined by the pokemon. It kind of seems like special attackers are more prone to the rapidfire shot

So can someon explain the IV guy in Kiloude City:

Quote:
"Outstanding Overall"
"Greatest Potentail is Defense"
"Sp. Attack Equally Good"
"Sp. Defense seems just as good, though"
"Stats like those... they simply can't be beat!"

So does this mean this Pokemon has:
31 Defense, 31 Sp. Attack, and 30 Sp. Defense?

No, all 3 of those should be 31 then. If he lists several different stats, that means that they're all equal xD The exception is this gen if your pokemon has a super low IV he'll say something like "Can you even make a dent with that horrible attack?" or something along those lines. If you have several 31s or something he'll list all of those and say they can't be beat, then afterwards say about the bad one(s).

Rapid fire type shot starts off a lot weaker than the other shot types at 0 EVs.
For example, if a 510 EV normal shot deals 6 times as much damage than a 0 EV one, than a rapid fire 510 EV deals 10 times as much damage than a 0 EV.

Although, the only hard part about rapid is (oddly enough) the level 1 training, because there appear no red baskets.
Just need to mash through this, until about 50 EVs, then start doing level 2.

Level 2 will have the red goals.
Strategy: Shoot the white goals as fast as you can. Every balloon always has the same pattern, learn it.
You can greatly enhance speed by learning the pattern, since you can already shoot at the next target before it appears, if you know where it will be.
For example, on lvl 3 SpAtk you always need to hit 6 white goals before the red one appears and they're always in the same positions. The balloons' attacks will always start at the same point, too.
As soon as the red basket appears, start charging shots, very important not to miss here, learn the slight movement of the red basket.
I always finished by the first red basket, that's where rapid fire shots strength lies.

Can't Wait!!

I don't particularly like Super EV training in X and Y. I have pokerus and always enjoyed battling pokemon to get my +8 EV's (or even 12). Super training takes concentration and focus and all this clicking... battling can be done mindlessly not paying attention while watching TV.

I've been training my Scyther with this and it's awesome, the only problem is I have no one to trade with to make it a scizor...

Sweet, thank you for your help! ^_^

looking for friends for the friend safari. my pokemon Y code is: 2964-9372-2647

message me your code or reply!

was curious if anyone knows about the new base stats for certain pokemon. so does this mean the IVs on the 5th gen pkmn will be lower if the base stats have been raised? like pidgeot for example. speed of 91 is now 101. if i poke transfer my flawless pidgeot to X and Y does that mean i wont have as good speed IVs as i did in the 5th gen file?

so I recently got a Inkay and his nature is jolly, I think that's a good nature for him and read some promising things about his evolved form.
What EVs should I invest in for him?

Not sure if this has been asked yet or not but I was training one of my Pokemon with this and I maxed out Hp and Attack but it says that my Pokemon needs more training. Shouldn't two stats maxed out be enough or did this get switched around somehow?

You can max out 2 stats and have alittle left over for whatever you want.

You still have 6 base stats left to add to a single stat, then it will be maxed.

Alright and thanks for the responses, I'll just have to add it to one of the defenses I guess.

So does anyone think EV training a Jolly Malamar is worth it? I can't find any promising results to really coax my decision, I found some good movesets for him, But that's it.

Should I just try and find a Adament one instead or give up on him?
