If saying the s-word is bad, then the word "poop" is bad as well.
In my opinion (which opinions are like a********; everyone has one) swearing is bad because instead of using real verbs or what not people go around say f that or f this. So number one how many different ways can you f something. Secondly it makes someone sound stupid due to a shallow vocabulary pool. It is because if someone swears all the time, those words will seem like a staple to that persons vocabulary and they are limited by it's uses to communicate. Therefore in my opinion swearing is bad because it hampers communication. use the words you mean to use because when the cat trips you and you say f in' cat, i'm sure you don't mean the same thing as what you where doing to a women last weekend even though that's what you've just said to all your boys.
In my own opinion, uses of swears should be few and far-between. They're to be used when you're mad, and nothing else. I mean, I don't really care if a person is consistently swearing, but in most cases those people are just deprived of a reasonable vocabulary and use swearing to either get respect or be "cool". It also depends what swear is being said. I can stand the simple damn, s*** or hell, but when people start using God d***it, f*** or a**, I find that very immature, annoying and just plain stupid, especially when used as an insult. Unfortunately, these swears seems to be commonly used in our culture. What I also find stupid is when the swears are randomly used, such as "What the f***?" It's not just swears, too. I absolutely hate words that imply derogatory remarks about homosexuality or race. Like I said, I can stand the occasion hell, but swears can be overused.
