Yes. I mean, just showing a random Sylveon just to stick it to damsel in distress and then not giving too much attention to Valerie's...it's like the perfect way of making a main Sylveon not look stale.

I wouldn't mind if they did that. Pretty much any of them fits her and would do really well in Showcases imo. Just as long as it evolves in this series and not in the next generation series.

Yes, but I'm talking about evolutions here, not captures.

What I'm saying is that since Sylveon's already been shown off twice, they wouldn't necessarily need to go with that route for Eevee.
They just as well could go with a Leafeon or so. It'll most likely be Sylveon of course, but X/Y has shown to be more unpredictable compared to previous series so far.

I really liked the imaginated Eeveelutions perfomances. Could it be foreshadowing Eevee evolution? Or is it just a diversion for the creators to introduce the seventh generation with a new Eeveelution?

Wow I can't believe that Serena hasn't even had a full battle in XY yet. I was disappointed that Ash wasn't using Noibat, but he kinda stood in the background anyways so it didn't really matter. I thought the writers might want to start hyping up the rivals from now to the league, but obviously they don't really care about that. The ending scene was perfect though!

Best part of the ep was seeing my favorite starter, ivysaur again, but otherwise it was kinda meh. Eevee is alright, if slightly annoyingly over-cute, and the battle just sucked. I know Serena's goal has nothing to do with battling, but it would still be nice to have something to gauge her strength by.

4/5-10.

The episode was all around cute with many fun moments like Eevee trying to be friends with Chespin and co. and Shauna teasing Serena about Ash and the battle wasn't too shabby although it being unfinished annoys me greatly because all of these half-assed battles make Serena look bad.

At least we have the showcase episode to look forward to.

Delayed writing this one up, but here it is finally.


Pros:

* Big Guy Blastoise spinning around like Yoda is oddly comical

* Chespin - top kek (guessing he has a crush/wants to impress Eevee?)

* Eevee outdancing Blastoise +1


Cons:

* What a mismatch; they were never going to have sweet, shy, and small Eevee get brutally KO'd by Blastoise/Pikachu, so obviously the battle got called off

* Ah what-do-you-know, another of Serena's Pokemon that is naturally talented with zero training from Serena..

* Why the hell isn't Ash using Noibaby?!?? It's the PERFECT opportunity against easy competition...*sigh*


Thoughts:

* Yeah, Jolteon, Umbreon, and Glaceon looked the coolest in the Performance preview..

* Tierno lost at Anistar? Meanwhile, Ash wins in his first attempt. Yup, these rivals look super daunting all right..5


This episode was very average.

Pretty mediocre episode, but nice to see friends coming together once more. I see Shauna and Tierno as friends than rivals, really.

Shauna's voice still irks me; her VA can do a lot better. Tierno's great as ever; gotta love Todd's voice for him.

Nice to see Blastoise and Ivysaur by them respectfully, especially with Trevor's Charmelon a few episodes ago.

Eevee trying to trust the other Pokemon was cute, and poor Chespin had to ruin it. lol

Omg Eevee is so fricking cute. So adorable. <3

It was a nice treat to see all the Eevee evolutions in a Showcase animation. I'd really want Serena to get a Sylveon. It fits her the most in my opinion.

That battle at the end was underwhelming. Ending on a cancellation. We've had these before, so it doesn't come to a surprise. Could have been better overall if just not done, but oh well.

Can't wait for the Anistar showcase!

That is quite a curious Eevee, it easily bonded with Serena but does not open up to other pokemon right away. I wonder if that is due to Eevee's personality or its past history?

I liked seeing the dance off with Blastoise.

Lack of Noibat...... not letting him be part of the Eevee meet with Frogadier, Chespin, Pikachu, and Dedenne.... seriously? He didn't even fight, Ash just had to use the strongest Pokemon in the cast against the weakest when it could have been balanced by using Noibat.

And once again, why Bunnelby of all Pokemon for the one Eevee likes?
Battle getting called off and no TRio appearance made the episode even worse

Tierno and his turtle are so acrofatic, and Bonnie likes acrofatics.

The first half of the episode was nice, given that things were going very slowly for Eevee trying to get used to the others, until the Piplup of the team had to scream "I LOVE YOU MARRY ME!!!"

The second half, though? Great idea, Serena! Pit your little Eevee against a turtle monster and the other Pokemon who's always out of his ball. There's no way getting rid of shyness by getting attacked won't do any wo-

Oh wait. I forgot. Battles are the solution 99.9% of the time when in doubt.

Then again, Eevee barely showed any progress, other than revealing Blastoise isn't all that acrofatic when dealing with small targets...

I wonder why Tierno never asked about Goodra; the Pokemon that utterly creamed two of his?

I've never seen Clemont getting Flint hair through bedhead before...

One last point: Shauna's voice still grates me. Looks younger than Serena, but has a deeper voice with nearly no emotion or effort into it.
