Oh quit it. Nurse Joy is should have a Pokemon because she is a PIA, stop saying, out of all the people. Who thought a trainer would have a heatran? Who thought a trainer would have a darkrai and a Latios? Nurse Joy is more than a Pokemon trainer, we saw a Rhyperior battling Latias in that picture we got, and we know the pewtwer gym has rock types, and Tobias making an appearance made no sense, plus we know there's more than one of some legendaries, so one Nurse Joy having one Latias, is that SUCH a big deal.

Can we talk about more than, ZOMG Nurse Joy has a Latias, that's ztupid! I'm hoping Dawn's Quilava learns Flamethrower and Flare Blitz.

Then why call her Nurse Joy if she's a PIA? Just call her Agent Joy or something. She might not be a Nurse. Remember, they are only a bunch of Joys and Jennys around in Kanto.

In Britain they showed Pokemon on Saturday mornings on SMTV: Live, they got through the OI and onto Johto when it moved on the new show on the Roof or something with that Jamie guy, your right it got half way, but then it switched to a 7:00am showing on Sky1 and then Cartoon Network picked it up for AG and the first season of DP, but then it switched to Jetix and Disney XD and now Sinnoh League Victors is on CITV channel in the mornings. Its always been on in Britain, just switched around so many channels. And in GAME, and Tesco, the 4th gen games have reached the top of the game chart and stayed their for a few weeks. Platinum however didn't stay as long as the others.

That really does put into perspective how long this show has been running when you think back to its first airing on British terrestrial Television on SMTV:Live, which probably coincided with the peak of Pokemon's popularity in the UK - good times. I think that the anime's popularity probably dropped in the UK when SMTV declined at the tail-end of its life. Unfortunately it became increasingly difficult to track new episodes of Pokemon when shows like Up on the Roof took over and I seem to remember that Sky only had the rights to air up to and repeat after reaching Charizard Chills for about a year. I seem to remember that this was when Pokemon's popularity began to wane on the school playground in particular while the hardcore of us managed to maintain interest until mid-Johto. It's too bad that Johto put so many people off when the saga picked up a bit with some truly memorable episodes during Master Quest. I don't think that many past fans would be too keen to hear that Ash is still a ten year old who has took on four major league tournaments without a title to his name though.

I think it's always nice to have specials like these for fans to take a breather from the ongoing series and find out what old characters are up to. I definitely appreciate the 'fanservice' in Brock's episode and will be interested to find out whether any other little references are made. Dawn's special seems to have a more formulaic storyline than Brock's and I am only looking forward to seeing her Cyndaquil evolve (despite feeling bitter that Ash's took TEN years to evolve compared to one-and-a-half for her own) whereas other elements of the plot seem to be recycled from episodes of DP as well as the more obvious mentoring role that Dawn is taking on towards a COTD. Brock's has the potential for us to see some interesting battles, much-needed focus on Brock's character and also a faint hope of seeing his old Pokemon. His siblings are always good for a laugh too.

Wonder if these episodes are foreshadowing Ash owning a Legendary at some point? It is something that happens in the games. Heck, you're FORCED to catch one.

Actually, the DS Pokemon games consistently reached high in the UK charts and they have a long sale life, being in the charts months longer than most games

Apart from the specialised Game shops, you would have to hunt because other things, like puzzles for the DS would fill up the chart spots. You would see the Pokemon games listed on the charts, but for some reason, hard copies would, according to my local superstore "have to be ordered in Sir, as there is usually only online demand for these" .......... :/

I know you make it sound real easy to find, but hell, when all CITV advertise is Horrid Henry and other things.............unless you pay serious attention to the CITV channel, which few people do, considering the better quality of cartoon on the CBBC channel, you would miss the launch of a Pokemon series anyway, by which point youd be better off reverting to watching online.

I dont really care that Joy owns a Legendary after all in the anime they are strong but not unbeatable...

Charizard beat Articuno, Swellow/Sceptile have held their own agaisnt a Deoxys also Sceptile, Heracross and Gible managed to jointley defeat Darkrai and Pikachu although fainted himself took out Latios...

Also havent we seen another younger trainer than Ash who managed to track down and trap an Entei into battle till it used Roar AND a young trainer with a Heatran in the Sinnoh League. Brandon had the Regi trio and last but not least the lil Nurse Joy who was friends with suicune and the lil boy who was friends with a baby lugia

and thats not counting the movies....

People Latias may be a Legendary Pokemon but it is still a Pokemon! Catchable and Beatable

The way and at the rate the writers are handing out legendaries like Halloween treats, very soon they shall be perceived on the level as the lowly Magikarp, Weedle, Spinda, etc. I don't have a problem with showcasing legendary Pokemon; just don't hand them out to random *** people. I think only "the chosen one" type of people should have the privilege to befriend or capture legends. If they wanted to showcase Latias so badly, they could have done it some other way rather than just handing her out to Joy (befriending, capturing, or by whatever means). Like, for example, Latias being anxious for some reason, could have just randomly showed up in Pewter City by Brock's gym, and maybe Brock could have tried to figure out what her problem was.

Why did they have to give Joy a Latias ? There over a 600 hundred other Pokémon they could have give her, and she ends up with a legendary.

They gave it to her so she can PWN everyone with relative ease, makes her PIA job alot easier. And yes that was sarcasm.

Both specials to me so far look interesting.I admit im more interested in Brocks shaping up to be very promising.Brock keeping pics of his friends is sweet and nice touch,and battle between Forrest and nurse Joy looks like its going to be epic(though i rather would have Brock battling her).Im surprised nurse Joy is having legendary pokemon but to be fair Latias compared to some other legendaries isnt terribly rare being possible for trainers to catch it.

Anyway confrontation between Rhyperior and Latias is easily going to be climax of episode i think.While chances are on legendary pokemon side,Forrest might have some chance to beat it.Afterall just because nurse Joy owns Latias doesnt have to mean her being some unbeatable trainer being strong like E4 or some high leveled trainers.


Dawn special seems pretty good too,with Cyndaquil evolving being nice touch aswell confrontation between Dawn and her mother being nice way to wrap up her complex of wanting to become good as her,though it does draw similarities with their first confrontation.Anyway this special does serve purpose to set up Dawn for next journey.I wonder which region?

Indeed. Its even pre-Togepi Misty, the one that people remember fondly. Not the Johto!Togepi Misty who was viewed the same way Brock was in DP.

Your wrong,many people have found memories of Misty in Johto aswell liking her as character welcoming way she developed as specials after departure showed being nice blend of new and old Misty having her charm but also being more selfcionfident and mature as character.

If people viewed Misty in Johto same way as they did with Brock in DP they wouldnt care so much about her being replaced.From my rewatch her story wasnt handled properly not getting enough focus but in terms of personality she was enjoyable having her moments.
