TALES OF KAMI
(Rated PG - 13, for violence and the use of alcohol)

Greetings, weary traveler. Forgive me; I am not accustomed to seeing strange wanderers, such as you, in these parts. Please, have a seat on that rock over there and join me for a little drink and a story. I have been told that I am a great storyteller. Heheh...well, I’m not sure if that is true, but I do dabble in myths and legends...the folklore of Japan. Would you care to hear a tale or two? I’m sure I have a few to spare...

===================

This story takes place in the wondrous land called “Ashihara-no-Nakatsukuni”, or “the Earthly Realm”. A land long told of in many myths and legends, it is. It is said to have had mystic forests, snowy mountains, and even haunted caves. Its many hot springs were quite an attraction too, so I hear. Having trouble picturing this place? Here, I happen to have a map of it.

Do you see those four small villages? Those are the villages of eternal seasons. The one to the east is Harumura, the village of eternal spring. To the south, you find Natsumura, the village of eternal summer. To the west is located Akimura, the village of eternal autumn. And in the north you can see Fuyumura, the village of eternal winter.

====================

Over a thousand years ago, the once-peaceful land of Ashihara was thrown into a burning cauldron of chaos. All hell broke loose, literally, when Enma, the King of Yomi, the Ruler of the Underworld, emerged from his netherworld-abode. He had grown weary of only punishing the sinful dead, whose cries were but shrieks and moans. He longed to hear the cries of every creature, good or bad. These would fill him with pleasure. So, with a host of undead warriors, Enma emerged from Yomotsuhirasaka, the Gate of the Underworld, and rampaged through Ashihara, killing everyone in his path.

But this parade of his did not go unnoticed. The monks, worshippers of the goddess and gods of Sun, Moon, and Storm, summoned the help of the Kami. Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susano’o answered their plea, and declared war on Enma and his soldiers of Yomi.

The three Kami met Enma and his warriors in heated combat on the plains between the four eternal season villages. For days, the battle raged on. Finally, Tsukuyomi and Susano’o managed to subdue the soldiers of Yomi, leaving Amaterasu to take care of Enma. With her sacred mirror, Yata-no-Kagami, Amaterasu sealed Enma back into the depths of the Underworld. But just before the seal was completed, Enma struck the mirror, shattering it.

With the help of her Kami brothers, Tsukuyomi and Susano’o, Amaterasu completed the seal, locking Enma away forever. The shards of her mirror were hidden across Ashihara, never to be found, for they were the key to reviving the slumbering Ruler of the Underworld.

Many hundreds of years passed, and the people of Ashihara came to regard the old event as mere legend. The land was now united under the rule of the Shiroirenge family, who dwelt in the White Lotus Palace, within the gates of Ashihara’s capital city, Sekai-hana, the Flower of the World. The great city was located to the northeast of Harumura, in the plains of eternal spring, where it saw the beauty of always-blooming trees, and the warmth of the sun.

Then, even the great Flower of the World, found itself to be strangled by weeds. The king’s right-hand man, a devil by the name of Yashasuke, murdered the king, and sought to usurp the throne. However, there was still one obstacle he needed to dispose of...

...the king’s daughter...Yurihime Shiroirenge...the crown-princess of Ashihara.

====================

At the same time, an evil monk, well-versed in the demonic arts of reanimation, was seeking out the shards of Amaterasu’s mirror. His goal was to awaken the spirit of Enma, the King of Yomi, and inherit the demon king’s immortality and hellish powers. He sent out his possessed, animated warriors of stone to seek the shards. When they found one, they were to kill anyone standing in their way, and bring the shard back to the evil monk’s monastery.

With all of these goings-on, it seemed impossible, to the eyes of a mere mortal, how the Kami were going to intervene. But the way the Kami acted was not always by-the-book. On this occasion, they decided the best way to go about protecting Ashihara was to utilize a more unorthodox method. This time, they would use the people and monsters of Ashihara to save the Earthly Realm.

Well, maybe they would throw in a couple of Kami...just to be consistent.

====================

And this, strange traveler, is where you come in. You might be a human, a Kappa, a Tengu, or even a Kijimuna...it matters little to me. Perhaps you know what is going on, perhaps not. Maybe you have your own goals, but then again, maybe you don’t. Perhaps you will join in the fight to protect the princess, or perhaps you will put a stop to the evil monk’s quest for the mirror shards. It’s up to you.

But know this: your choices could very well determine the future of Ashihara...and all of Japan...whether that be its protection, or its demise.

Rules:
1. Follow all SPPF and RPG forum rules.
2. Keep in mind that this is a PG-13 rated RPG, for violence and the use of alcohol. Nothing more.
3. There will be flaming, spamming, or trolling. Trolls are not one of the races in this RPG. The closest thing would be acting like an Oni. And there will be none of that either.
4. Use proper grammar, punctuation, and capitalization.
5. Please, please, please...only sign up if you are going to post. And try to stick with the RPG if you are accepted.
6. There will be no reservations for this one.
7. You may sign up with up to two characters. If there are still spots left open, then I may allow a third character.
8. Lastly, HAVE FUN!

RacesWhat will you be? Keep in mind that the relations between humans and most Yokai (monsters; basically anything that is not human) are not very good. Most Yokai aren’t very welcome in human villages, and especially not in human cities, and vice-versa. There are a few exceptions to this rule, as in the case of Inugami, which are commonly seen. Other Yokai take on the forms of humans so that they may live in peace within the human villages.

Human (2 SPOTS OPEN)
Description: Humans are the dominant race in Ashihara. They are the most Kami-like in appearance and personality, and, as such, are often considered (by their own kind, mostly) to be the most important of the races. Humans have formed cities and villages, and are ruled by their respective kings and chieftains. They have a passion for creating, much like the Kami. Unlike the other races, average humans have no magical abilities of their own power. Rather, magic powers are drawn from other sources, such as Kami-worship or special items (swords, jewelry, etc.). They are the most balanced of the races, being moderately strong, fast, and intelligent, though they have very limited magical power. There are a few exceptions to this rule of magic, however. There are those who are well-taught in the ways of the heavenly or demonic arts.

Kappa (2 SPOTS OPEN)
Description: Kappa are fun-loving water monsters who resemble monstrous turtles. Their heads are open at the top, and filled with water. This is where they obtain their strength. If the water spills, they are sapped of their energy, and crumple on the ground until they die of dehydration or their heads are filled again. They have a very odd love of cucumbers, and will do almost anything to obtain one. Kappa are a more strength-oriented race, and very fast in the water. Out of water, however, they’re (pardon the pun) all washed up. Intelligence and magic is something most of them lack.

Kitsune (1 SPOT OPEN)
Description: Kitsune are magical foxes. Because of their ability to change shape, they are often considered to be tricksters. While this may be true for some, not all Kitsune are like this. Some are actually quite fond of humans and wish to live among them, although their mischievous natures do tend to show up every now and then. Kitsune are judged in power and wisdom by the number of tails they possess. A one-tailed Kitsune can merely take on the form of a little girl, but a three-tailed one can become old men, young women, and little girls. Upon reaching the fifth tail, Kitsune obtain all of their natural abilities, and can transform into nearly anything. The most tails a Kitsune can have is nine, and there is only one nine-tailed Kitsune in known-existence. Most Kitsune are found near Akimura and Harumura, but rarely live within the villages themselves. They are fast and intelligent, but lack physical strength. Their magical power is very great.

Bakeneko/Nekomata (a Bakeneko has one tail, while a Nekomata has two; CLOSED)
Description: Bakeneko are cat spirits. Because of their ability to change shape, they are usually considered to be mischief-makers, and for good reason. They enjoy playing tricks on humans, and even other monsters. When a Bakeneko reaches full-power and maturity, its tail splits in two, and it becomes a Nekomata. Bakeneko and Nekomata can transform into old men, young women, little girls, small weapons, and even other animals. Most Bakeneko and Nekomata are found near Akimura and Natsumura, but rarely live within the villages themselves. Like the Kitsune, they are fast, intelligent, and magical, but without much physical strength.

Tengu/Daitengu (a Daitengu is a more powerful Tengu; 2 SPOTS OPEN)
Description: Tengu are a type of monster that resemble humans with avian characteristics. While human-like in appearance, they usually sport large bird wings and long noses, because their transformation magic is imperfect. Every Tengu carries a bird mask to use when it wishes to become its more monstrous, bird-of-prey form. Tengu are the self-proclaimed guardians of forests and mountain passes, and can be found in those locations in abundance. They are fast and strong, but not very intelligent. Daitengu, however, are very smart, and have powerful magical abilities.

Inugami (1 SPOT OPEN)
Description: Inugami are dog spirits, and are extremely powerful. Despite being perfectly capable of existing independently, most usually prefer to live with their masters as watchful and bold companions. Inugami can be found almost anywhere, and are often summoned to fight for their masters. They are the most commonly seen of the monsters. People have grown accustomed to seeing them here and there. Inugami lack physical strength, but they are fast and highly intelligent. They have an immense amount of magical prowess.

Kamaitachi (CLOSED)
Description: Kamaitachi are sickle-wielding weasels. Their motto is “strike before stricken”, and they follow it excellently. They are masters of speed and quick attacks, and are capable of flooring even enemies four times their size. They are quick-witted, and extremely skilled at surprising opponents with their speed. They exist in areas with tall grass, especially near Akimura. Kamaitachi rely primarily on their speed and intelligence, and let their momentum do the rest. They can use wind magic, but little else of the magic-kind.

Kameosa (1 SPOT OPEN)
Description: Kameosa are ghoulish creatures that have the form of large sake jars with goblin-like limbs extending from them. Their faces are made from cracks in the jars, which can expand and close again, just like normal eyes and mouths. They have been known to get drunk in their own sake, and will share with others...on occasion. They aren’t very powerful creatures, and primarily give others intelligence on certain events and places. Kameosa have a little bit of magical prowess, but almost no speed and very little strength.

Kijimuna (1 SPOT OPEN)
Description: Kijimuna are friendly, but impish, forest spirits who resemble small, tanned children and have fiery red hair. They are adept fishermen, but have an irrational fear of the octopus...even very small ones. Most of the time, these small creatures go about wearing nothing but grass skirts, but will on occasion garb themselves in other forms of clothing. They tend to have bad memory. Kijimuna are quick and very magical, but lack much physical strength and intelligence. They spend most of their time in forests fishing in rivers.

Shojo (1 SPOT OPEN)
Description: Shojo are beast-men with long, red hair who have dark tan skin and wear traditional Japanese clothing. More often than not, they can be found on beaches drinking sake. These guys are usually considered to be humanoid orangutan, but at this, they are appalled. They are nothing like their ape-brethren, so they claim. Shojo are typically very slow creatures, often because they are drunk, but they boast great physical prowess and are fairly intelligent. They have very little magical power.

Lesser Kami (CLOSED)
Description: Lesser Kami are the lower forms of the spirit-deities, such as Amaterasu or Tsukuyomi. They lack the immense power of their higher-ups, but still boast more magical power than any of the other races. They are spirit-like in form usually, but can change shape at will, taking on the form of humans or animals, or even objects. When a lesser Kami does something to offend a greater Kami, it may become subject to the greater Kami’s wrath, and be turned into a human or animal as punishment, though they still retain some of their magical and physical prowess. The lesser Kami are the most diverse, because there are some who are purely magical, while there are others who are completely physical in abilities. They usually have great intelligence, but this is also not set in stone, for there are some who lack any sort of intelligence. Lesser Kami are capable of entering a Kami Mode, which gives them a higher magical power, and may also alter their appearance slightly.

(You may notice that both Tanuki and Oni are not on this list. This is because there will be only one Tanuki in this RPG, and he is an important NPC. The Oni will be one of our main enemies, so they are also not included as a possible race.)

The Tales of Kami Guide to MagicHeavenly and Demonic Arts
The Earthly Realm is home to many different forms of magic, which have been passed down from generation to generation. These forms of magic include, but are not limited to:
- Transformation Magic (one of the most common forms of magic; altering the appearance of oneself; used most by Kitsune, Bakeneko/Nekomata, Tengu, and lesser Kami)
- Summoning Magic (a form of magic that involves calling upon the help of a spirit or monster to aid you; typically used to summon Inugami, but can also be used for Kitsune and lesser Kami)
- Elemental Magic (the magic of fire, wind, water, lightning, earth, ice, and darkness; mostly used for offensive purposes, such as attacking an enemy)
- Spiritual Magic (a form of magic focused solely on the transferring of souls to the plain of spirits; transforming oneself into a spirit for a period of time, allowing the caster to go just about anywhere, and possibly possess the bodies of others)
- Healing Magic (a form of magic that involves the healing of another using supernatural means; typically used by Kitsune, Bakeneko/Nekomata, Inugami, and lesser Kami)
- Reanimation Magic (the most malicious form of magic; can be utilized by only the most skilled of magic-users; involves the reviving of a dead body or object by inserting a devilish spirit into it; the possessed corpse or object follows its master’s orders without question)

Sign up form –
Name: (simple, right? Eh...no. Names must be Japanese, and shouldn’t be something utterly random. Nicknames, however, may be in another language, so long as it’s believable)
Age: (make it realistic. Yokai typically live longer than humans do)
Race: (use one of the races listed above, unless you can come up with a good reason why you want to use an unmentioned race. I will still not accept a Tanuki, however, so bear that in mind)
Appearance: (at least twelve good sentences; two paragraphs. Detailed is great, but try not to bore me with really long descriptions about one simple thing)
Personality: (at least twelve good sentences; two paragraphs. Try to make the character fairly believable, and give him/her/it a decent goal in life)
History: (at least sixteen good sentences; three paragraphs. Give the character an interesting background. Again, detail is good, but too much might drive me up the wall)
Fighting Style and Weapons: (how does your character fight? With quick moves and punching? Hacking and slashing? Elaborate. Any weapons? Tell about them. Describe all of that here)
Magic Style: (any magical powers? List and describe them here)
Other: (anything else I should know? Put it in this little section)

My sign-ups...
Name: Kouji Kaminari (called the “Child of Thunder” by some)
Age: Unknown (appears to be about 15)
Gender: Male
Race: Lesser Kami (banished)

Appearance: Kouji, though only fifteen in appearance, boasts a physique many young men desire. He is thin, but muscular. Kouji’s face retains much of its childlike appearance, having matured just a little. His eyes are a shining green color, but change to golden-yellow when he enters his Kami Mode. Black lines run down from the corners of his eyes to the middle of his cheeks. Kouji’s hair is black and spiky, and is pushed back by a crimson-colored headband that is decorated in the center by a yellow sun symbol. In Kami Mode, his spiky hair changes in color from black to white. His ears are large and pointed, giving him an almost impish appearance.

Kouji wears clothes that suit his hotheaded, rough personality very well. His black tunic is often kept undone, revealing the muscular figure beneath, and the sleeves are rolled up past his elbows, so as not to get in the way. The tunic reaches his thighs, and hangs loosely. A black sash is tied around his waist, keeping his faded, yellow breeches in check. These pants widen and gather around the middle of his shins, and end there. What appears to be half of a black skirt covers the upper portion of his left leg, and is attached to his sash. A pair of sandals dons his feet. The sacred jewel of Amaterasu, Yasakani no Magatama, is attached to a necklace that he wears around his neck.

Personality: Kouji is an unpredictable, reckless individual who has the makings of a strong warrior. What he lacks in brains he makes up for in determination. Although many dismiss him as a mere ‘prankster’ and ‘annoyance’, some actually admire his bravery and strong will. He hates being underestimated and will nearly always throw a fit if compared to a child. Despite his immaturity, Kouji will sometimes reveal a strategic side that no one ever suspects. Because he is a ‘prankster’ and prone to mischief, he is very good at coming up with over-the-top, humorous plans for getting past an enemy or some such.

He is a self-absorbed individual at first, and only does things that will benefit himself. His “master plan” is to do good works in Ashihara until he is admitted back into Takamagahara, the Heavenly Plain. For now, his plan of action is to obtain all of the mirror shards so that he can fix Amaterasu’s mirror and give it back to her. He thinks that by returning Amaterasu's legendary mirror his "pedestal of divinity" will be returned to him.

Kouji is hotheaded and easily-angered. When angry, Kouji can unleash a level of power that would catch even the most powerful of warriors by surprise. This is something his opponents often find out the hard way. His intelligence and common-sense are greatly lacking, but nevertheless, Kouji always manages to outsmart his enemies with his mischievous battle-tactics and quick moves. In battle he is capricious, and one never knows exactly what he will do next. He is full of surprises.

History: Everything had been as it should be just a year ago. Kouji Kaminari was known then as simply 'Kaminari' in Takamagahara. A lesser Kami of Amaterasu's line, he stood proudly on the podium of a shining deity. Nearly limitless, his power was. That is, until that fateful day. He had done nothing wrong, really he hadn't. He'd just taken a little break from the duties of a Kami, and opened the gate to the Earthly Realm. Intrigued by the goings on of the humans and the Yokai, Kaminari took on the form of a boy and waltzed into Sekai-hana, ready to cause some mischief. He'd known other Kami who had done similar things, so he wasn't worried.

Well, actually, he was. For a little added mischief, he had taken Amaterasu's sacred jewel; partly because he wanted to have a little extra power for his pranks, and partly because he wanted to see whether or not Lady Amaterasu's legendary temper was as terrifying as he had heard. Unfortunately, it was twice that. Amaterasu, being the near-almighty deity that she is, found out of Kaminari's actions, and sent a host of lesser Kami to track him down. Even with the added power of Amaterasu's sacred jewel, Kaminari couldn't defeat Amaterasu's minions, and he was captured and brought before the queenly deity. Her eyes piercing through him like shining daggers, Amaterasu sentenced Kaminari to a life in the form of a human, for he was now a fallen Kami, banished to the Earthly Realm, and incapable of returning to the Heavenly Plain.

And so, Kaminari (now called 'Kouji Kaminari') began his new life on earth. He retained some of his Kami powers, but far less than what he had before. After some wanderings, he heard tell of Amaterasu's legendary mirror, its many pieces hidden across the land. An idea struck him almost immediately. That was how he was going to get his honor and position back. He was going to bring Amaterasu back her Mirror.

Fighting Style and Weapons: At the moment, Kouji carries no weapons with him, for he considers his fists to be the greatest weapons. He uses a style of martial art very similar to Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. He uses his feet and legs in whirling circular blocks, and his hands and arms in his quick, aggressive attacks. A wide stance and constant movement is the secret to his intense fighting style.

Magic: Spiritual and Transformation Magic. Kouji can only use his Spiritual Magic when he is in Kami Mode. This magic-style allows him to transfer himself to the plain of the spirits for a short time, and then appear someplace else just moments later.

His Transformation Magic is greatly limited, and so far he has only been able to turn into the elderly (old men and old women), which is generally not very helpful to him.
Other: Kouji knows the location of only one of the Mirror Shards.

Name: Yurihime “Lily” Shiroirenge
Age: 15 (almost 16)
Gender: Female
Race: Human

Appearance: Lily’s got the whole ‘pretty-girl-look’ down-pat. Now if she can just work up to the next level. She has shoulder-length, light brown hair, all of which, save for her bangs, is pulled back in a bun. Her bangs are swept to the side by a barrette (sometimes switched with a lotus flower, depending on her mood). Her eyes are a beautiful blue color, and her skin is milky white. Lily’s nose is small and cute-looking. Her rosy lips are found attractive by most and highly coveted by many of the other young women in Sekai-hana.

Lily has a slender frame, but it is slowly beginning to mature and grow more hourglass-like. She wears a long-sleeved, tight-fitting, light green kimono-style top that complements her slowly-curving figure and fair-sized bust rather well. Her silk-white skirt hugs her hips about an inch below her bellybutton, and flows down her milky legs, ending just above her knees. It has a split down the left side for more efficient mobility. She ties a pink-colored sash around her waist. A pair of sandals embraces her petite feet.

Personality: Lily is a compassionate girl who packs a punch. She cares deeply for her people, and will do anything to put a stop to Yashasuke's diabolical plans. She has a feisty temper, "pretty much exactly like Lady Amaterasu," says Kouji. Her stubbornness and intelligence make her a formidable opponent for nearly anyone. Her judgment in battle is very good, much better than Kouji's, but at times can be clouded by her unrelenting attitude. Once stuck on an idea, she won't let go of it until she has an idea that is even better. She believes that the only way to resolve this conflict is to go back to Sekai-hana and face Yashasuke, using violence if necessary. But to do this, she first needs a group of followers that are willing to risk their lives for her cause.

She can be both cunning and manipulative when seeking allies. Sometimes using threats may strike her as the only way to get someone to join her. Other times, she considers it best to utilize her feminine charms to persuade people to join her side. Lily has also been known to use means of exchange or payment to recruit allies. She is much like her deceased father was on that note.

History: Yurihime Shiroirenge, the crown-princess of Ashihara, was most definitely 'daddy's little girl'. Her father taught her everything about being a ruler, and bossy little Yurihime had a very quick mind. She learned fast, and studied hard under her many tutors. Eventually, however, as she grew older, she decided enough was enough, and went out into the city for some fun. Lily didn't realize this then, but it was by the grace of the Kami that she was out of the palace on that day, for that was when Yashasuke, the king's right-hand man, turned on the king and killed him.

As it turned out, nearly all of the king's guards were in on the overtaking of the thrown, and slayed anyone that stood against them. It wasn't long after that Lily learned of her father's death, from Yashasuke himself. The devil-of-a-man sent his loyal soldiers out to find her, and that's when Lily's story began. They took her to Yashasuke, where the whole story was laid out for her. When he finished, he pulled out a long and terrible blade, said to be forged in the Underworld itself, and prepared to run her through. At the last second, the only surviving guard loyal to the king leaped in the way, shielding the princess from the fatal blow.

Enraged, Yashasuke tore the soldier to shreds in a matter of swipes, and turned back to Lily, but she was gone. The princess dove out of the palace window and landed on one of the palace's lower roofs. Hopping from roof to roof, she made her escape, not daring to look back, for fear that one look could mean her death.

For a year, she remained in hiding, but constantly on the move, fearing that Yashasuke would find her before she was ready for him. Her travels brought her to Akimura, the Village of Eternal Fall, where she sought the help of some wayward warriors. Whatever it takes, she is determined reclaim her throne.

Fighting Style and Weapons: Lily is a swordswoman, and excellent at utilizing almost any kind of blade. Her favor lies with the katana, namely ones with long blades. She uses quick dashes to end her foes within seconds with the razor-sharpness of her blade. At the moment, she carries a simple katana.

Later on, Lily will obtain two katana, but will only use one of them at a time, for they are too different to be used together. The swords were made by two famed sword-smiths (Muramasa and Masamune).

The first sword was made by Masamune and is called Yawarakai-Te (Tender Hands). Its blade is silver, and it is more adept in reflecting magical energy than actually cutting. It is a more peace-oriented sword.

The second sword was made by Muramasa and is called Juuchi Yosamu (10,000 Cold Nights). Its blade is black, and it is sharp beyond compare. It radiates with demonic energies.
Special skills/techniques/magic: Lily has no magic powers other than those infused into the blades of her swords.
Other: When wielding her demon blade for too long, Lily's eyes begin to turn red, and she starts losing control, eventually becoming slave to the sword's bloodlust.

Can I reserve for the Lesser Kami and Inugami?

Guess who's coming back for her second day-view?

EDIT: Actually I'm going to go ahead and do Human and Lesser Kami instead. *had better idea* xD

EDIT 2: First Sign up is ready!

Name: Kaida (Kai) Yuki (Better known as “The Dragon Of The Snow”)

Nickname: Ryukai

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Appearance: Kaida stands at about 5’4”, though, is usually slouching a bit, making her appear somewhat shorter. She is a bit heavyset, but not terribly so, and has slightly tanned skin. Her hair is straight, dark brown, and reaches down just passed her shoulders unless it is put up in a ponytail, though, that is rare unless she is running around a lot. Kai constantly is wearing a crimson headband over her forehead, and adamantly refuses to take it off due to what she claims is “a nasty looking scar”.

Her apparel usually consists mostly of dark colors, because she likes to stay camouflaged and sneak around the night. She also almost always wears a black hooded jacket that her brother gave her for luck. Kaida has pierced ears, and always wears a black-spike necklace with a pendant of a dragon on it. The necklace itself is something to behold. On it is a blood-red jewel that glows only in the moonlight, and the dragon is coiled around it, hovering over the treasure protectively. Kai carries around a bag with various supplies in it, including some very useful scrolls she uses for summoning.

Personality: Kai isn’t exactly your very average teenager. Sarcastic, fun-loving, and full of attitude, Kaida isn’t too fond of other people, and prefers to only have a few friends at a time, mostly due to paranoia, and her general dislike of people her age. She always seems to have a bit of a dark air around her, and is almost always secluded behind her hood. This however, does not mean she is unapproachable. While she prefers to stay by herself in most situations, Kai has no problems with interaction with others. However, if someone manages to tick her off, she will be quick to yell, and generally has a pretty short fuse. Thankfully when people aren’t constantly making her mad, Kaida is pretty laid back and humorous.

Since a young age, Kai has had a fondness of music, and will often burst out into song at random moments during the day. Aside from music, Kaida is constantly being creative. She enjoys sketching, and writing, as well as several other forms of artistic output that help her escape what she thinks is a harsh reality. This brings us to another note: Kai is an escapist, constantly hoping to wake up in her own dreams and never leave.

Another thing to note about Kai is her love of animals, specifically canines and dragons. She always has felt a special connection with non-human beings, and is a very big Yokai activist. Perhaps the last thing to note about Kai is she is very firm in her beliefs…. However, she loves debating, but will never, ever impose on anyone. If you do happen to get into a debate with her, be warned… she is ruthless, and definitely not afraid to be obscene if it helps prove her point. Kai does not like to lose in other words; her ego matches that of most men.

History: Kaida was born in Akimura, the land of endless Autumn, in a lower-class family that worked for an upper-class, royal family. From a very young age, Kai was forced to work to keep her family from going bankrupt. Of course, being the young, creative child Kaida was, she would often get in trouble with the family she worked for (the poor girl didn’t know drawing on the walls was a bad thing…). Eventually, this behavior lead the Yuki’s to make a drastic decision; get rid of Kaida and continue working for the high-class family, or keep their child and get fired.

Rather then doing the second one, Kai’s parents sent her away to the land of eternal winter, Fuyumura. Kai’s brother, Li, escorted her to the place where she would stay for the next few years of her life; A dojo. At first, Kaida was forced to do simple chores for the dojo, however, she one day showed extreme talent in martial arts. After seeing this, the teacher decided to take Kai under his wing.

In a matter of months, Kaida was highly experienced in hand to hand combat, and soon moved onto learning the way of the sword. In her explorations with a weapon, Kai found herself training out in the snowy forests everyday. She would often pick fights with Yokai, but would never be able to kill them. Kai could never figure out why, but she seemed to be able to feel everything her opponents were feeling, and because she knew them so personally, she could not bring herself to slay them. When she told her teacher of this, he grew angry, saying that all Yokai were evil creatures and deserved to be killed. Kaida, enraged at such a horrible accusation, asked her teacher to prove this to her. This would be her mistake for her entire lifetime. Her teacher brought out a box, and told Kai that if she could cure the evil in the Yokai’s heart that was sealed inside, then he would take back what he said about them being sinister creatures.

Kai, being ignorant about what she was going to unleash, opened the box, and immediately, a seal was put on her, making her one with the horrible beast inside. Since then, Kaida has had to seclude herself from society in the fear that her Yokai, a Lesser Kami, would disobey her command and attack innocents.

Fighting Style and Weapons: As stated in Kai’s history, she is a skilled martial artist and swordswoman. She carries two katanas which she uses to dice her opponents into small bits. Her style is hit fast and hard, either to kill, or to make an escape.

Magic Style: Kaida’s magic is very limited. She can only summon her Lesser Kami with the scrolls she carries in her bag.

Other: The reason Kai wears a headband is to cover the seal that shows she is linked with a Lesser Kami. There is no scar.

EDIT 3: SECOND SIGN UP!

Name: Seiji (Official name; means “Justice”)

Nicknames: Synyster, Syn (the name he prefers to go by)

Age: Unknown, but claims to be almost as old as the legends themselves

Gender: Male

Race: Lesser Kami

Appearance: Synyster, being a Lesser Kami, has a few forms he can be summoned in; Dragon, Tiger, Wolf, Osprey, and Bear. Each one has different powers to control different elements (explained in the Magic Techniques section).

As a dragon, Syn looks… the most sinister… (no pun intended). He has pitch black scales that are rougher then cement, huge, pointed teeth that can shred through flesh like paper, and leathery wings that allow him to take flight. His eyes are a soulless white color, and in the middle of his forehead shines a red, glowing jewel, similar to the one on Kaida’s necklace.

As a tiger, Syn once again has black fur rather then the normal white or orange, with even darker black stripes. He is extremely lithe in this form, able to run at extreme speeds and climb almost anything with sharper-than-steel retractable claws. In this form, the crimson jewel is on his chest, and his eyes are once again soulless and white.

As a wolf, Synyster is pure white with deep blue eyes that have no pupils, giving him a look so terrifying it can petrify someone to their spot. In this form, Syn has stamina like no other, and can run great distances over almost any terrain. As a wolf, Synyster can elongate his fangs, making him appear almost saber-like. The red jewel is easily seen in the middle of his forehead.

As an Osprey, Synyster is normally colored for the species with grey and white feathers and a pointed beak that can pierce through most anything. His eyes are empty black sockets, and his talons are stained red with blood. The jewel can be seen on Syn’s chest.

As a bear, Syn is a huge, demonic looking monster with a red back, and dark brown-black underfur. In this form, he can lift almost anything with endless muscular strength, and has keen senses that outdue any human’s by more times then you can count. His eyes in this form are a blank white color, and the jewel can be seen in the back of Synyster’s right paw.

Personality: Syn has a huge superiority complex. Due to his intelligence, he finds other beings completely disgusting and idiotic, and therefore... unneeded. He is a bitter soul, demanding to go by the name “Synyster” over threats of death because he likes to keep his true identity secret. You see, he does not take too kindly to other creatures or humans, due to how they have used and betrayed him in the past.

Synyster as stated above is very... intelligent, given that was what he was raised for back in the days of gods (he was supposed to be able to learn anything, and know the answer to any situation so he could make the correct judgment on how to deal with them, hence the name Seiji); however, with his "eternal" knowledge came a price: insanity (to a degree). His main goal in life is to find a being of his intellect or skill level; someone that can outsmart him in either fighting or actual knowledge. Anyone that cannot meet his minimum standards is to be eradicated with no mercy, because they are inferior and unneeded in the world. Furthermore, no human will make it out of his line of sight alive, after the hell they have inflicted upon him (the only exception being Kaida, whom he is sealed to for eternity unless he is set free).

History: Synyster was created to keep order between humans and Yokai on The Earthly Realm. Gifted with superior intelligence and magic that could control nature, Syn was able to judge and bring justice to those that deserved it. Things went on like this peacefully for a very, very long time, but Synyster started to see a pattern. The same mistakes would repeat themselves throughout history, and Syn was growing frustrated with having to fix others' screw ups. One day, his rage grew too much, and he appeared before the Kami, pleading for them to make their creatures less ignorant and greedy so they would not continue to repeat past mistakes.

The gods refused, saying that they could not control the actions of those in The Earthly Realm.

More enraged then ever, Syn tried to take things into his own hands; whenever someone would make the same stupid mistake for him to judge, the results would be fatal. It would be a lesson, Synyster thought, so that the creatures of The Earthly Realm would finally grow and prosper. The Kami, after seeing such horrors, quickly sent for Synyster to be captured and sealed away. However, Synyster was much too intelligent to let himself be caught, something the Kami completely overlooked when sending minions after him. Syn got away, and went into hiding far from the reach of his godly bosses. He waited for years upon years, letting disaster happen in the world around him due to the creature’s foolish mistakes. It became clear that a new threat was rising, and so, Syn came out of hiding to attempt to put a stop to it.

Unfortunately, the moment his presence was sensed, the Kami sent someone to seal him away into a box where he would rest for all eternity, unless it were to be opened….

Years passed; seventeen years to be exact, and Synyster grew bitter. How, how could the gods betray him so? He vowed that he would get his revenge when he escaped his hellish confinement.

And then, that day came with Kaida, who opened the box. However, Syn did not realize that he was sealed to Kai for eternity unless she were to set him free. He now works under Kai’s watchful eye, doing whatever she asks in the hopes that one day he would be set free.

Fighting Style and Weapons: Syn’s fighting style changes with whatever form he is in. He uses the animal’s best features to take down his enemies ruthlessly.

Magic Style: Synyster’s magic is seemingly endless. He can shift, and of course, control elements depending on what form he is in:

Dragon -- Fire
Tiger -- Lightning
Wolf -- Ice
Osprey -- Wind
Bear -- Earth

Other: Notta.

Ooh. Sounds interesting >3 If it's ok, may I please reserve for a Kitsune and Human? *sheepish wandering* xD

ShadoWolfDemon: Both characters are accepted! Good to see you! I do have one question, though. You said that 'no humans in Synyster's sight would make it out alive'. What does that mean for all the humans? Perhaps Kaida should have some control over who he kills.

Also, now that your characters are accepted, which group will you have them join? Group One will begin by focusing on the evil monk, while Group Two will start off protecting the princess and (sort of led by Kouji) looking for the Mirror Shards.

Possk: I'm afraid I'm not accepting any reservations. Just put it up whenever you're finished.

Bakeneko/Nekomata (a Bakeneko has one tail, while a Nekomata has two; 2 SPOTS OPEN)

Kamaitachi (2 SPOTS OPEN)
Description: Kamaitachi are sickle-wielding weasels. Their motto is “strike before stricken”, and they follow it excellently. They are masters of speed and quick attacks, and are capable of flooring even enemies four times their size. They are quick-witted, and extremely skilled at surprising opponents with their speed. They exist in areas with tall grass, especially near Akimura. Kamaitachi rely primarily on their speed and intelligence, and let their momentum do the rest. They can use wind magic, but little else of the magic-kind.

liking the look of these two^ :)
hopefully can get a su done soon.

Ah, I see your concern, however, Kai does have control over Syn by word alone. Her agreement is that she will set him free if he listens to her commands. However, there are times when Synyster still goes nuts so she still tries to keep away from people.

And is it absolutely necessary that I join a group? If I must, I would love to go with group numero uno.

Killer_Squirtle

Follow my lead!
Name: Tsuki [Moon]
Age: About 300 years old, she lost count after a while. But physically she is only about 8 in our terms
Race: Kitsune
Gender: Female
Appearance: The most notable thing about this Fox spirit is her silver-white fur that glistens in the moonlight. Her eyes appear to be closed all the time, although she is perfectly able to see. She is very small for a kitsune, from her paws to the tips of her ears is is only a little over 1'3, but length wise not including her tails she is 2'5 long.

Through training she put herself through, she has achiveved in gaining 4 tails meaning she can transform into weapons as well as people. She can't really fight much on her own, so in battle situations she's constantly turning into weapons for her comrades to use.

She has the ability to transform into a few weapons, but her absolute favourite is turning into a battle scythe. Like her normal form, it is mostly silver and the blade splits into 4 as the number of her tails. She thinks that the number of blades would increase if her tails did, but it is only a theory.

When wanting to play with humans, she transforms into an 8 year old girl in a red long-sleeved kimono. She does this so that the children wouldn't be as afraid of her, but she still wishes them to know what she is. With that in mind, she kep her silver hair, fox ears and all four tails. And her eyes still appear to be closed, many still think it is odd since that is not the case with other Kistune.

Personality: Tsuki is childish, though that does come from being a child. There is barely any rhyme or reason behind her actions most of the time, though to her her reasons are perfectly acceptable for doing much. Sometimes she's very helpful towards complete strangers, like helping an old lady dry her laundry. Other times she completely random in causing mishcief, like dumping a bunch of snow into someone's bath.

She never grew up with a proper family and get get a bit jealous when chidlren are playing with their siblings. That's one of the reasons why Tsuki preferes turning into a human child, so she can play with others. She'll sometimes adopt a person like her partner or anyone she's close to as a sort of big brother or sister and anyone she wants to be friendly with she'll end their name in "chan". In fact she over-uses the term "chan" on people and even objects.

One thing about her is straight, she hates seeing people cry. What she wants to do in life is to prevent as many tears from falling as possible. If that means putting her life in risk, so be it. She is wise beyond her years and sometimes has surprises moments where she knows exactly what to say. But of course those moments are rare.

History: Tsuki wasn't born, she was created. She was summoned by a monk in a time of crisis in order to defeat a raging Kappa that was terrorizing Harumura. He was trying to summon a creature of infinite strength and a purest heart. He performed the summoning at midnight right next to the eternal fountain.

Instead of a guardian spirit he got a newborn Kitsune. He thought that beggers shouldn't be choosers and he sent the baby fox to attack the furious turtle monster. Tsuki was new born and had no idea what a fight even was, she only had one tail at the time and she couldn't do much at all.

The kappa charged at her and was unlucky enough that she did the same. He tripped over the tiny fox and spilt his water. Terrified, the kappa ran back into the river and left the village all together.

Tsuki's purpose served, the monk tried to un-summon her. But she ran off into the forest, never to make contact with that monk again. She made many trips back into the village, the other monks saw her as a threat as she was strong. But in truth, she just wanted to play. Over the centuries, she helped and hurt many people in the village and asked nothing in return. She helped bring in the rice for the sake, she punished a number of theives and she helped make the other children in the village laugh.

One thing was amiss about her though. Sometimes she would just go all out and pick fights with the monks in the monestary. She resented them and their leader all those centuries ago for brining her into this world simply to fight their battles and when/if she won, they'd dispose of her all together. One time, if it had not been for a group of her human friends, she would have simply burnt the monestary down in a fit of rage. The monks had not learnt their lesson and had tried to summon a creature to defeat her numerous times. But their constant tries to rid the village of Tsuki only made her stronger and that is how she now had 4 tails.

Magic Style: Her only way to fight is using her magic, as she is so tiny her physical attacks do almost nothing on enemies. She is skilled in the ways of fire and ice elemental magic and is currently training with wter magic as well. But her prefered way to fight would be to partner up with a weapons expert and transform herself into a weapon. Of course she does have a decent amount of transformation magic as any Kitsune would.

Other: She is skilled in the art of calligraphy and writes and draws with her tails by dipping them in ink.

Fossil Man

CRAGLY-HO!
Name: Iwao (meaning "Stone Man")
Age: 26
Race: Human
Appearance: A large man with a heavy muscular build, about 6'2" and a strong, yet aged and rough face which gives him a intimidating look. His face has two large scars, one on each side of his face under his eyes. His eyes are greenish-hazel, and shoulder length straight black hair that covers his neck. Due to him living dirty (no pun intended) his skin seems much darker than what it is, which in itself is a semi-tan white. He has no piercings, but has a odd tattoo on his back, shaped with several characters and an intricate circle. This is believed to be a mark of possession from a spirit. In addition to no piercings, he also wears no jewelry of any known kind.

He wears medium size black and dark green tunic, as well as a earthy brown undershirt with long sleeves that goes to his wrists. Along with matching black and dark green breeches that reach to his ankles and the traditional socks and shoes. He wears a crimson sash along his waist, which also holds a long blade. In order to keep other small things around him when needed, he has a small satchel wrapped around his left hip near the sash. At some places, in order to hide his face, he wears a simple farmer's straw hat and a festive fox mask.

Personality: A person who is a tsunami of emotions, which usually depends on his mood. Thankfully, his mood is a semi cheerful and mellow one. He enjoys being caught up in some people's determination, usually tending to get over excited and sometimes causing him to do something rash. In honesty, he is a kind hearted person when he sees that someone who needs help despite his loud and frightening voice and appearance.

What he longs for most in the world is to be a well-sung hero, and finally be revered and loved in his life, instead of scaring people unintentionally. This goal in life causes him to go out of his way for some people, who unfortunately manipulates him and causes him to distrust many people. This also, gave him a pessimistic and cynical outlook in life, causing him to not try as hard or sometimes not try at all. If he does consider someone a friend he does remain completely loyal to them and always tries his best to impress or be of use to them. This however, can result in back fire and end in full failure.

As intelligence goes, he is quite smart. He knows how many towns and cities work, and also knows many of the side exits and entrances of towns in case the places are ever barred or locked. In compliment, he is also quite empathetic and a person that can sit down and have a deep conversation with, despite his stubbornness on some topics.

His anger is short-fused, and also short lived. If something rubs him the wrong way he wouldn't be afraid to use brute force and stubbornness to either relieve himself or to get his point across. This side of him usually results in many scraps, fights, and sometimes a day or so in prisons. Sadly, this side of his reputation outspreads faster than his kinder sides, which explains why many restaurant and bar owners double check who their guests are.

History: He lived the beginning of his life as an aristocrat's son in Sekai-hana , who tried to fashion his first son to be the successor to the estate and the money and businesses. However, Iwao dreamed of being a wondering warrior, traveling across the villages and going on big adventures. Having no want for the business, Iwao began taking up a sword and soon was thrown out due to his father's anger about disrespecting his wishes. Several years passed as he worked job after job and trying hard to keep up with his classes. Eventually he had to leave the training due to lack of funds and began to wonder the villages in search of food.

Unfortunately, soon he became a captive of a clan of bandits, who kept him as a lackey after several weeks of brutal torture. He lived as a bandit for a short time, before killing a higher up theif and fleeing for his life. Until he reached the city of Akimura, he was under constant hiding, relying on wits of living on the wilderness, which made him very intelligent about natural edible plants and animals. When he arrived Akimura, his life didn't turn up any greater, as he lived on the streets, begging and sometimes robbing an occasional passerby to live on. One night, he stumbled upon a dying stray dog and felt pity against it, burying it to the neck in a patch of earth outside the village. Sadly, he could not give the dog an offering, which was customary to do to feed the spirit of the dog after it passed on. Soon after an Inugami, which came from the dog's corpse and possessed Iwao, out of both a reward for being kind to a dog, but as punishment for not completing the ritual.

He kept wondering the country, now possessed by the Inugami that he accidentally summoned. He still lives as a beggar and a swordsman, now finding jobs with the law around Akimura, helping arrest and execute criminals and bandits. On a foggy early morning, just before his shift ended at the gates of Akimura, a figure passed by him that he did not realize. Iwoa tried stopping the man but was surprised when the man said his name and spoke of a time in which the world would need his help. Seeing this as a calling to his life's dream, he gladly accepted the quest and travels to the location the man sent.

Fighting Style and Weapons: His main weapon is a slender blade, which many revered swordsmen use. However, due to his insufficient training, he is not as graceful as many others, causing his style to be a semi graceful, semi hack and slash. During his times in the wilds and at the bandit camps, he learned many natural styles from watching animals and ferocious styles from the robbers. This causes him to be unpredictable, which is a great advantage due to his weak training. His Inugami possessor likes to attack with his hands and teeth, which is quick and brutish.

Magic Style: While he does not learn much, he is able to know some Earth-type elemental magic, such as causing minor tremors and hurling rocks and chunks of earth at foes. His Inugami possession is another trick he knows, but is not in control of, as he is the one who is being possessed. His Inugami only works when it senses Iwoa is near death or unconscious.

Other: He is possessed by a spirit of an Inugami, who attached upon him after a burial mishap. Although the Inugami is a separate character, he lives inside Iwoa and can use his body from time to time. For the most part, the Inugami leaves him alone, but twice a month, he needs to take control of the person, which causes him to behave very dog-like.

------------------------

Name: Bato, but also goes by the name of who it possesses, Iwoa
Age: 5 years as a spirit
Race: Inugami

Appearance: A mutt in appearance, but seem to be a mix between the Shiba Inu and a large wild wolf. A large dog, about reaching mid thigh of a normal 5'10" adult. Its fur color is a dark golden brown, with patches of black and with a shaggy, yet fine hair texture, making it seem even bigger than what it really is. The eyes are a bit different as well, as one is a ice blue, but another is a harvest gold, another heavy indication he is a mutt. His ears are slightly flop-eared with one silver band on each side

The only article of clothing it wears is a navy blue handkerchief with the symbol "Duty" and a bright red robe with a dark orange sash. This and the earrings are heavy signs that Bato was owned by someone before his death, but the robe indicate that he himself has ascended to a Inugami.

Personality: A dog who actually responds well to the person he possess, as both are on the same wavelength on views. Although not as hot headed as his counterpart, Bato does have his same feelings on people to trust, due to many owners and people on the street heavily abusing the dog. Also, Bato is easily excitable around other people and can also lead Iwoa to increase his own excitability.

Unfortunately, Bato does not share the same intelligence with Iwoa, making it considerably obvious when the two switch places. With very little vocabulary and with a one track mind, Bato does whatever he wants and does it right at that very instant. This causes himself to get into all sorts of trouble, not to mention all the strange looks people give as they see not a dog, but a full grown man, baying at the moon.

His purpose is life is a simple one, to live with the vessel that he chose until he believed that it was time for him to move onto a full spirit and believes that his human counterpart is fully happy in his own life and does not request his services anymore.

History: A stray born near the Bamboo Woods, who lived with his mother and 5 of his other brothers and sisters in a small grove of hard bamboo. He lived as simple as a pup could live, until he straggled off one night, never to find his home again. Desperate and hungry, he stumbled across Harumura, after 3 days of starvation. There a poor family found him lying on the middle of the street and happily took him in, fed him and gave him the name of Bato. For the first three years of Bato's life, he lived with the family there, working hard with the father in the fields and playing just as hard with the children, enjoying his life, forgetting everything that happened as a young one. However, one day the family left Bato behind, as they needed to leave to another part of the city to get away from a small virus that plagued the lower district for several days, only leaving a handkerchief behind that the master of the house had.

Bato began his search all over the city, but the scent of the family was too dulled out by many other scents in the lower quarters, leaving him lost and once again destitute. Bato fled the village as his mind thought they left to another city, but never meet any of his family at any of the cities that he went to. Years passed and the world became more and more crueler to Bato, as everything from being attacked and near killed by a pack of street dogs to abuse from other masters he lived with in order for food showed up in his path.

At the age of 10, a tired, battered and worn Bato came across Akimura, a town that existed on the other side of the country. Weary and worn, Bato finally collapsed on the ground and was trampled on by a passerby. This man only picked up the dog and threw it aside to die in the streets. Bato was near dead, only with a few more minutes left to live his life before another man came and picked him up and carried him off to the outside of the town. The man soon began a preparation for a grave in respect for Bato. Sadly, Bato passed on before he witnessed the full kindness this beggar gave to him.

...he woke up soon after, noticing that his paws had become hands instead and a voice in his mind telling him of what he had done. He possessed the man that buried him and became a Inugami. He currently lives inside the mind and soul of the beggar.

Fighting Style, and Weapons: Quick, swift, and ferocious is how Bato attacks, using only his front arms and teeth to slash, gouge, and tear through opponents. Although it seems barbaric, he only deems it necessary to use when his vessel is in jeopardy.

Magic Style: Being a Inugami, he possesses slight magical skill, but does not go to the power of the Kitsune or other groups. He bestows Iwoa with the powers of manipulating the earth around him, and can use this ability as well when he is in command.

(Edit: Ok, there we are. I hope you deem this acceptable.)

And is it absolutely necessary that I join a group? If I must, I would love to go with group numero uno.

It would be for the best if you joined a group, for the sake of keeping the plot and characters moving. You don't have to join the group from the very beginning, though. I'll post more information on where the groups will begin a little later.

Killer_Squirtle: First of all, just a correction on the village name, it's Harumura.

Secondly, your Appearance and Personality are both too short (nine and eleven sentences, respectively). They need to be twelve sentences long to meet the required lengths.

Thirdly, I'd like you to add Transformation Magic under her Magic Style as well, because it is one that she uses when she turns into a little girl and weapons and such.

So, for now, Pending.

Fossil Man: Your Appearance, Personality, and History are all much too short (six, eight, and eleven sentences long, if I remember correctly). The Appearance and Personality need to be twelve sentences long, and the History needs to be sixteen sentences long, to meet the required lengths.

Also, I will need you to write up an NPC sign-up for the Inugami. It will need the same fields as the character sign-up, but shorter lengths for the Appearance, Personality, and History (eight, eight, and twelve, respectively).

So, for now, Pending.

Hrrm. I would like to reserve a human if I could. Might also make a kitsune, though only reserve me for a human.

Killer_Squirtle: Very good. Your sign-up has been read and accepted by the Kami. Now, which group will you have Tsuki join?

Fossil Man: Your sign-up has been deemed 'good enough to eat' by the Kami. They will now proceed to devour the scroll upon which it was written. You are accepted. Which group will you have Iwao (and Bato) join?

ROFL, Hotshot, I love your methods of accepting people. The Kami would be very pleased with you.

And about the groups, I was planning on joining one or the other eventually, but not right from the start, so that's perfect since I don't have to.

Also a random note: I was really tempted to make Sky and Rai for this, since they are Inugami and Nekomata respectively, but hey, change of pace for once. XD. Strangely, Kai also has a name that rhymes with those two characters. I wonder if she'll end up acting like them at all? XD

Sir Forgets-A-Lot

The Forever Amnesiac
Here is my sign up

Name: Akishita Matsuo (Aki for short)
Age: Over 1500 years old (Aki is not sure the exact number)
Race: Eight-tailed Kitsune (more specifically a zenko)

Appearance: When not transformed Aki is a pure white kitsune with eight tails. In this form, Aki is around six feet tall. His fur has gold accents on the tips of his tails as well as around his eyes and mouth. His right ear is adorned with several small jeweled earrings. Around his neck he wears a bone necklace with a small fox skull in the middle.

When transformed, Aki normally likes to take on the appearance of an effeminate young man around the age of 26. This form is around six foot three with a thin but well toned build. The skin is a light tan color and completely flawless. Aki likes to keep the hair pure white but will change it to another color is necessary. Aki prefers to keep a narrow face with close-set eyes, thin eyebrows, and high cheekbones with this form. Around the eyes, Aki has light gold make-up.

For clothes, Aki prefers to wear a snow white kimono that is trimmed with gold. The bottom of the kimono is decorated with a scene depicting golden colored rice field swaying in the wind. If someone would to look close they would see that the rice truly is moving. The kimono has five golden colored Inemaru kamons on the shoulder, back, and chest (here is a pic of the kamons). For shoes, Aki prefers to wear geta styled sandals. Around his neck is the same necklace he wears in his true form.

Personality: Aki is a devout servant of his master Inari. He will follow his master’s orders without question and will not let nearly anything distract him from those orders. Aki will not hesitate to eliminate any living being standing in the way of his missions. The only creatures he will not harm are the young and innocent.

Aki at times can be very vane. If there is one thing he hates more than anything is when his fur or kimono gets dirty. If this happens, he will freak out and immediately stop what he is doing and clean the dirt off of him, even if this means if he is in the middle of a fight. If he gets dirty when transformed, his transformation will start to disappear.

Aki is very wary of others as he fears that if he gets too close to anyone, they might abuse his profound knowledge and powers. He is very distrustful of anyone that tries to approach him. It takes awhile for him to talk to someone and even longer for him to consider someone his friend.

Do not mention the fact that he only has eight-tails even though he is over 1500 years old. He is very self-conscious of this fact. The last time someone mentioned this fact, Aki put them in an illusion that caused him to view everyone around him as his worst nightmares. But he feels that when his master Inari deems it, he will be ready to sprout his final tail.

History: Aki was born as a regular fox. Aki barely remembers this part of his life, with the only things he remembers are his parents love and how he came into the service of his master Inari. His service to Inari came with the death of his mortal life. He was just a young cub when he first met Inari. At that time his master had come to the earthly realms to watch the mortals and enjoy the beauty of their world. His master had taken the form of a small girl that day so as to go unnoticed. When Aki first saw her, he did not know who she really was; he just thought of her as a regular old female child. So when he saw that she was about to be run over by a rampaging ox, he ran and tried to pull her out of the way. Unfortunately, he was not strong enough and both he and Inari were run over and trampled to death. Of course, Inari was not killed but Aki was. However, Inari was so flattered by his gumption that he revived Aki as a kitsune and employed him as one of his personal messengers.

Under Inari’s service, Aki has seen many things. He has seen kingdoms rise and fall. He has seen civilizations wiped out by opposing forces. He was even there when the fight with Enma happened. He had fought alongside his master and the other Kami. He saw the horror that the soldiers of Yomi caused. When the war was over, Aki vowed that he would do everything in his power to prevent such a travesty from happening again.

Fighting Style and Weapons:
Aki prefers to put his opponents under various illusions and then attack them when they are distracted. If that is not an option then he will switch to attacking with various elemental attacks. As far as weapons are concerned, his whole body is a weapon as Aki is able to transform individual body parts.

Magic Style: Aki is well versed in a variety of magical skills. His greatest skill is his transformation techniques. He is so adapt at this skill, that he is able to transform individual body parts. His second greatest skill is his illusionary magic. He is so skilled that some of his illusions can actually hurt the victim. Being one of Inari’s personal kitsune, Aki is able to use spiritual magic. He mainly uses this magic to travel around for his master. Aki is also able to become a spirit if need be. Aki is also skilled in all forms of elemental magic. He prefers to use lightning and wind magic but will not hesitate to use the other types if need be. Aki also knows healing magic. He mainly uses this to heal cuts and bruises that he may receive in battle, but this is mainly due to his vanity. He is actually able to heal massive cuts and reattach limbs that have been very recently cut off; however, Aki will only use this power on those he deems worthy and those he fully trusts.

As far as which group my character will be apart of I'll let you decide o great kami master.
