Tales of Memoria
If nobody remembers you, then you never existed.
It has already been centuries since Labal arose. Labal, an embodiment of Death itself, came out of thin air, and struck before anyone forsaw him, swiftly and mortally.
First it was only a rumor in small villages. However, the curse spread like wildfire. Soon, several large cities had fallen to the man´s power as well. Labal was capable of transforming pure innocence, babies and young children, twisting their souls until they became reckless, berserk demons that wouldn´t hesitate to assassinate the first human they set their sights on. They were denominated the Ezra, and nobody had the heart to kill them, even if they were now horrible monsters.
A solution needed to be found before all of humanity succumbed to Labal. The Order Anima, an organization of talented and highly powerful sages, was the first to take on the task. After analyzing many reports and theorizing about the monster, they finally came to the conclusion that Labal was no human at all: he was a composition, an ammalgamation of every person´s fears and insecurities. As the world´s terror of Labal increased, he fed off of it, and became stronger, while everyone´s children perished and were reborn as monstruosities.
The only way to stop Labal was to erase the last trace of fear of him in everyone´s heart. The only way to stop Labal would be that he never existed.
And that is exactly what the Order Anima did. They prepared a massive ritual ceremony, harnessing the last drop of power of every sage in the Order, but it was not nearly enough to cleanse the entire world. They would have to derive a source of mana from somewhere else, and they chose to use the World itself. They extracted much of the world´s mana and used it in the ceremony.
That day, a searing light purged the world.

It has been much time since that happened. After the successful ritual, Labal became a mere human that was quickly assassinated and the Ezra became the lifeless bodies of young boys and girls. The entire world mourned, but they didn´t know that Labal slew their children. The official explanation that the Ten Sages of the Order Anima--the only ones who knew the truth--gave to the world, was that an extremely rapid virus had spread across the world, killing the children, who had low defenses, and damaging the minds of adults, making them loose their memory. Until this day that is the official explanation of why almost half the world´s children suddenly died.
Today, however, things are quite different. Humanity has recovered and now things are relatively normal, without any memory of Labal in the hearts of anyone. However, the world hasn´t healed as quickly. The shortage of mana resulting from the Memory Cleanse ritual has left the world uncapable to fullfil its inhabitants´ needs, and wars have sprouted everywhere during the ages to control the scarce resources that are left.
The world has advanced, but there are still thousands starving, thousands dying. Those that are lucky, however, live in peaceful cities and villages, enjoying prosperity.
Today, the talk of the town, the biggest news everywhere is what happened to an elderly couple living in a small, isolated village off the coast. In the middle of the night, they woke up to strange sounds in the house, and the man, with an old sword by his side, went to investigate.
What they found in the main room neither of the two could describe accurately as they were too shocked and desolate. They said vague things about it. About how it started screaming desperately as soon as the man approached it, about how it seemed to be pulsating, "it looked like someone had been turned inside out..."
The man did not hesitate to repeatedly thrust the cold steel of his blade into the small, yet constantly growing monster before it became a threat. His wife joined him, terrified, seeing the thing´s last moments of life, if it even was alive.
Then the monster seemed to vanish into a black mist that evaporated above their heads.
The only thing left was the body of their seven-year-old granddaughter, a bloody corpse.

You are the descendant of one of nine Sages that once composed the Order Anima. The Tenth Sage, as far as is known, never had any descendants. The secret of what really happened, Labal, the Ezra and the Memory Cleansing has been passed down your family from the Sage all the way down to you, and you have been ordered to go and investigate this happening to really know what occured, along with the other eight descendants. The only people in the world that know what this could mean.

Right now, please know that the point isn´t that we´re all supposed to find each other in the first five minutes. The nine descendants live in different places, and therefore will come to the village from different routes. Some may come across another, but the idea isn´t that the nine members come together immediately.
Name: All kinds of names accepted.
Gender: Again...
Age: All ages accepted.
Species: So far three species are available: human, half-elf and elf. Humans often use physical attacks while elves concentrate on magic--just a guideline. If you want to be of another species, PM me first and we´ll see if it´s acceptable.
Description: How your character looks physically. Pictures are accepted, but don´t be lazy.
Personality: How your character acts. As you should know this is important, do be thorough.
Weapon: Here you should describe the kind of weapon that your character can wield, as the weapon that your character currently has.
Accessories: Any other accessories that you have. You can have a maximum of two accessories in the beginning.
Ability: Basically, what does your character specialize in. Does he/she cast offensive, elemental magic like Genis? Maybe he/she´s an all-out physical warrior with battle techniques like Lloyd or is able to heal and cast light magic like Raine. You could also blend magic and swordplay like Zelos and Kratos do. Finally, it´s your choice entirely. Though make sure it suits your weapon.
Techs: The techniques (Techs) or attacks that your character can perform in the beginning of the RPG. He/she should have no more than three and, of course, they shouldn´t be too powerful. If you´ve played any Tales game you should know what kind of techs go here, though common sense or general RPG knowledge are enough; if you´re a mage a possibility is Fireball, if you´re a warrior it could be something like Double Slash, and so forth. They can be real techs from a Tales game or made up.

Species: Half-Elf
Description: Avalon has a lean, lightly muscled frame and light-toned skin as is typical in half-elves. Avalon´s hair is pure white, tied into a ponytail on the back that falls down to his knees. His eyes are lavender in color. His shirt is green and made of thick material, with short sleeves. The shirt itself reaches down to his stomach. Under that he has a black, long-sleeved shirt that covers him down to the two brown belts with silver buckles that he wears. His pants are black as well. Over them he has a green, incomplete kilt-ish thing (Ever seen Riku´s in Dark Mode? Like that, but it´s not fringed, basically a kilt without a front part) with small, golden orbs incrusted on the sides. His boots and gloves are black, with a golden triangle drawn on his right glove and a silver star on his left one.
Personality: Avalon is in his own world most of the time, to the point that some people would think he´s feeble-minded. In reality, Avalon is quite intelligent, but always finds himself incapable to do anything in the company of other people, as he is definetely not a team person at all. To avoid having to work with the eight other descendants, he was ready to go on this mission alone, but, of course, his parents did not permit that. It looks like he´ll have to at least reply every once in a while if he wants the mission to succeed.
Though Avalon´s personal reclusion includes a mistrust of pretty much everyone, he trusts his father and mother blindly, doing everything that they tell him to do without even questioning the motive most of the time. He´s ready to punch anyone else who may get too close, however. (It´s more of a reflex than anything else. Don´t take it personally.)
Weapon: Avalon´s weapon is the chain. The chain that he wields is usually wrapped around his right arm, and he adeptly twists and turns it to battle effectively with it. Because of his magic power, he is also able to control the chain with mana. Avalon´s current weapon is nothing special, a chain called the Iron Snake. Every chain ends in something different. Avalon´s ends in a metal snake head, with its mouth open, bearing its sharp fangs. This formation helps the chain grapple on to enemies.
Accessories:
Drain Charm - A small charm that protects Avalon from the effects of Curse and Weak.
Spirit Bangle - A mystic bangle that recovers a very small portion of Avalon´s Tech Power (TP) for every enemy he defeats.
Ability: In the physical aspect, Avalon has enough prowess with the chain to ward off enemies and has knowledge of a couple offensive techs. However, on the magical side, Avalon is learning to be a summoner. Unlike the normal summoner, that makes pacts with the Summon Spirits, Avalon is an Otherworld Summoner, who demands the service of Otherworld Spirits, which, once he gains service of, can pull into this world with his chain to battle. As of now Avalon has no available summons, as he must defeat a large number of monsters and offer their soul force at specific locations to summon an Otherworld Spirit and gain its services.
Techs:
Grapple - Throws the chain at the enemy, damaging it and holding on to it so it can´t escape.
Iron Masher - Can only be used once Grapple is used successfully. Pulls chain abruptly, throwing self at enemy and damaging it with a powerful kick.
Ouroboros - The chain bends into a mystic circle in front of him, temporarily reducing the damage he takes.
We want variety in this RPG. So, if you see that a bunch of physical fighters have already signed up, you should try signing up as someone that concentrates more on magic. Finally, we MUST have one healer. Thus, if there is only one spot left and we have no healer only a character with healing capabilities will be admitted.
As of now no other Summoner characters are permitted.
