Tales of symphonia plot problem

BlazikenBud

Only on Wii
In tales of symphonia Remiel says that collete is the 7th chosen, but when you get to the tower of salvation, everyone says that all those hundreds of coffins inside it are chosens, but how can that be if collete is the seventh?

Well, I can think of 2 reasons around this, although they may both be false.

First, the characters in the game just assume that those are all of the failed chosen, it is never actually confirmed (I do not think so at least).

Second, Remiel may have just been lying, and after playing the game to the end, you may understand why.

Not really. Those could be all of the people who have opposed them. Or, that could just be a trick, and there are not really that amny people there. Plus, there is the fact that There are chosens from Tethe'ala and Sylvarant. Maybe that will explain it.

It was never said for sure that the bodies in the Tower of Salvation were Chosens, it was just assumed. They might be angels, because in that Poseidon Adventure-style bit near the end, the angels who ambushed Lloyd and Regal came out of coffins. Or they could be the people who died in Kharlan War, since the tower was built on the Holy Ground of Kharlan where the war was faught.

There's no specific answer, we just have to speculate.
I'd agree with Kez, I also thought Remiel was lying. But it's been so long since I played the game, I barely remember.

He could have meant that she will be the 7th chosen to succeed...assuming she does.
I never actually thought of that. But, if that was it, I do not think that the timing would add up.

BTW, isn't this in the wrong place? A Nintendo game should go in the Nintendo descussion.

I think it's probably just the seventh chosen to suceed. The coffins in the Tower of Salvation are probably the many failed ones, and maybe also the Kharlan War victims. Hmm...

It technically counts because there was a PS2 port for Tales of Symphonia that was only for Japan.
