Taunt and Soft-resetting questions.

Does Taunt (http://www.serebii.net/attackdex/taunt.shtml) have a similar effect to Mean Look in that it prevents runners from running away? (Ie. Latios, Latias, Suicune, Raikou, Entei...)

IIRC, Mean Look's effect is only in place if the same Pokemon that used it is still in play (So if you switch Pokemon, Mean Look effect is gone.), is this the same with taunt?

Is Roar considered an 'attack move' from the Legendary beasts?

Also, an unrelated question but I want to make sure, can you also soft-reset for event Pokemon like Deoxys in Birth Island, or do they disappear after saving and then resetting in their respective islands?

Thanks.

Taunt works nothing like Mean Look. Taunt prevents your opponent from using non-damaging moves for 2 turns, it doesn't trap the opponent. It will block Roar though, however the legendary dogs can still run away.

You can reset for the pokemon on the exclusive island. Though I believe you have to do the puzzle for deoxys each time.

Answer for second question. I'm pretty sure you can soft-reset for event Pokemon normally. I've tried SRing to get a Shiny Lugia, and nothing happened really.
EDIT:: Kabuto beat me to it. >> *I type too slow*

Oh, I see. :( I was under the impression when you use Taunt the target wouldn't be able to do anything but use damaging moves, thus preventing them from running away.

For runners, I guess a high SPD Gengar with Hypnosis/Mean Look will do.

Thanks. It was a silly question, but I wanted to make sure. The islands are accessible even after the Pokemon has been captured already, right?

Yes, except for Southern Island in Ruby and Sapphire.

I have personally soft-reset for lati@s on southern island many times without a problem.

I also have a question that is related to taunt, what will taunt do to Wobbuffet? Would it still use Counter/Mirror Coat, struggle, or just do nothing?

Are there any Pokemon in any of the 3rd gen games that have their attributes preset before you even encounter them?

I read that Latios/Latias have their attributes set(Shiny/Non-Shiny, Nature, IV, Stats...) when you New Game in Sapphire and Ruby, and in Emerald when you tell your mom what color Pokemon on the TV.

I think the legendary dogs from FireRed and LeafGreen also are the same in that they are set in the beginning. Are there any other ones? (Both event pokemon and non-event pokemon.)

Arriving glacially.
The Lati's IVs/Nature/Shinyness/etc. is set when you watch the TV broadcast about them in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. I've tested it.

I'm not sure when the Suicune/Raikou/Entei's values are set, however...

Couldn't you just save right before fighting Deoxys (Ie. Last step in the triangle puzzle.), or did you mean you have redo the whole puzzle each time in order for his attributes to be different each time?
