Not ever PokeMovie has a villain.
Might just be another case of the featured Pokemon lashing out, then calming down after the climax.

I really hope in this movie ash uses pkemon aside from pikachu even the concept art of AU ash is holding a pokeball
Make him own inteleon or cinderace or rillaboom or any other thing
Too bored to see starters be always antagonists

There's definitely signs pointing towards an Antagonist in this movie tho.

Zarude is trying his damn hardest to protect Coco from something in the Trailers.

And it's destroying the whole Jungle. (Knocking down Trees and causing Explosions)

Whether it's a Human or Pokemon somebody's definitely playing the Antagonistic role

Also Antagonist =\= Villain

According to main site the movie is now planned for a winter 2020 release. A quick research tells me winter is between December and February. Since they used 2020, guess my theory of a December release was correct.

Yeah I too assumed we'd probably get a winter release. It seemed like the most logical timing, considering the point at which they've started working again. They've lost out on almost a quarter of a year, so we could basically put that back on top of the initial July release.

Not that I'm even looking forward to it. Except for Celebi being included, nothing about the movie particularly interests me. I especially dislike the whole concept of this AU Ash that they introduced in the previous movies. Gone are the days of the current anime characters and their Pokemon getting extra time to shine on the big screen and that's a shame in my opinion.

Gone are the days of the current anime characters and their Pokemon getting extra time to be useless and fade into the background on the big screen. That's a great thing in my opinion.

What PokeMovies were you watching? Half the time--heck, three quarters--the companions and ESPECIALLY the TRio were just...there, not doing anything of significant while the CotMs get the focus alongside Ash. So this AU universe evens things out. Heck, I kind of wish this is what they'd been doing all along.

Some people say it was unfair that the SM companions were never in a PokeMovie, I say it's just as well. I shudder to think of how completely pointless Sophocles, Mallow and Lillie (love ya honey, but you just didn't do much after the Nihelgo arc) would've been >_<
