Scizor could work and it could give you volt-turn
ok im in need of help making a team for the competition. i want to make it an original team that doesnt have pokemon that EVERYONE uses but could do pretty good.
so far i have: Medicham: Adamant, Pure Power
EV:252 ATK,252 SPE
Moves:Ice Punch, Drain Punch, Mind Reader, Hi Jump Kick
Excadrill: Relaxed?, Sand Force
EV:252 ATK,252 SPE
Moves:Hone Claws, Shadow Claw, Earthquake, Rock slide
(trying this out)Togekiss: Timid, Hustle
EV: HAVENT EV'D YET
Moves:Yawn, Wish, Air Slash, Protect
I need some ideas of what would work with this team, i will take any help i caan get
Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split
Put the last 4 EV's where ever you'd like.
Infernape (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
Same.
Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Spikes
Changes from Forrey.
What should I get for my 4th pokemon? Maybe Gliscor? Yes. Fighting resist.
I don't really like Scarfed Infernape's but I'm gonna try it out. As for Gliscor should I go for Bulky Sweeper or Defensive Gliscor?
Lastly, what should I get for my 5th and 6th pokemon?
Wouldn't Alakazam or Gengar do a better job of sweepingDefensive. If Ferro is gone you'll still be able to take on Dragons for a bit, with Gliscors high defense.
Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Def / 244 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind
Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Swords Dance
- Taunt
And for a special sweeper, and another fighting resist, we have...
Reuniclus (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Def / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Psyshock
- Trick Room
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
I honestly have no idea how good this team will actually work, but it seems nice. Stall team consisting of Skarm, Ferro, Rotom, and Gliscor. While Infernape & Reuniclis sweep with high speed. The hazards that the stallers set up really help Nape net certain KO's that it's 337 attack stat may not be able to kill. It also has a nice Volt-Turn Synergy with Rotom-w.
Wouldn't Alakazam or Gengar do a better job of sweeping
Jolly Hustle. Adamant really degrades Hustle.
So yeah, Life Orb on Starmie (as soon as you get it).Hi guys, first time of posting on here after previously just reading.
I'm looking to make a battling team and am struggling at the moment with a lot of things still to get my head around.
I'll just jump straight into it my team as it stands has:
Starmie @ Leftovers
Natural Cure
EVs 252 SpAtt/252Spd/4HP
Timid (+Spd - Att)
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Rapid Spin
Haxorus @ Dragon Gem?
Mold Breaker
EVs 252 Att/252Spd
Adamant (i think)
- Swords Dance
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
Archeops @ Flying Gem?
Defeatist
EVs 252 Att/252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Acrobatics
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Fly (I know but i used it in game and don't have any ideas for this spot)
I also have a Jellicent and a Volcarona but they seem to give my team too many weaknesses, what would you guys suggest to help me with this team?
Give Haxorus Lum Berry/Life Orb > Dragon Gem.
Give Archeops U-turn or HP Ice and a Naive nature (Only if you go with HP Ice) over Fly.
Volcarona seems to work nice in the team. Gives it a nifty Ice resistance.
So yeah, Life Orb on Starmie (as soon as you get it).
I would suggest Dugtrio for Stealth Rock and the big Electric weakness (yay, you can have Jellicent!, as well as taking care of the occasional Rock type.
@ Focus Sash
Jolly
Arena Trap
252 Attack and Speed
-Earthquake
-Sucker Punch/Stone Edge
-Sucker Punch/Stealth Rock
-Hone Claws/Stealth Rock
Up to you how you go with it, I would just suggest you choose between these moves.
If you want a wall, Jellicent works well. Here's one of the better Jellicent sets:
You can really go almost any way with Jellicent's EVs.@ Leftovers
Bold
Water Absorb
252 Hp/200 Def/56 Sp. Def
-Scald
-Recover
-Taunt
-Sludge Bomb/Protect
Basic wall. Scald for the STAB chance to Burn, Recover is recover, Taunt is to prevent from being Seeded, poisoned, or Taunted yourself. Sludge Bomb has a 30% chance of poisoning someone, so I like to use that over Toxic, especially if you get Taunted.
Thanks, do you think that Starmie is fine without a STAB move?
Hi guys,
I'm doing one of those tournaments on Smogon where its best of 3 and each round is a different tier. I need help deciding on a sixth pokemon for my UU team. any advice you have or if you spot a weakness I overlooked would be helpful.
Thanks,

Hey, I'm making a OU offensive team on a deadly sweeper who is actually in UU:
Yanmega@ Choice Specs
Modest | Tinted Lens
252 SpA | 252 Spe | 4 Def
~Air Slash
~Bug Buzz
~U Turn
~Giga Drain/HP Ground
Yes, the mighty Yanmega. Tinted Lens means that you do not want to be hit by a not very effective move. Choice Specs adds on the Pain. Bug Buzz 2HKOs Heatran and Skarmory. We don't need coverage.
Only Problem: We're weak to Stealth Rock.
