Jolly Hustle. Adamant really degrades Hustle.

Hi guys, first time of posting on here after previously just reading.

I'm looking to make a battling team and am struggling at the moment with a lot of things still to get my head around.

I'll just jump straight into it my team as it stands has:

Starmie @ Leftovers
Natural Cure
EVs 252 SpAtt/252Spd/4HP
Timid (+Spd - Att)
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Rapid Spin

Haxorus @ Dragon Gem?
Mold Breaker
EVs 252 Att/252Spd
Adamant (i think)

- Swords Dance
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw

Archeops @ Flying Gem?
Defeatist :(
EVs 252 Att/252 Spd
Jolly Nature

- Acrobatics
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Fly (I know but i used it in game and don't have any ideas for this spot)

I also have a Jellicent and a Volcarona but they seem to give my team too many weaknesses, what would you guys suggest to help me with this team?

AlexandriaTheMixed

You A Stupid Hoe.
Give Haxorus Lum Berry/Life Orb > Dragon Gem.

Give Archeops U-turn or HP Ice and a Naive nature (Only if you go with HP Ice) over Fly.

Volcarona seems to work nice in the team. Gives it a nifty Ice resistance.

Fire Tamer
479-w.gif

Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split

Put the last 4 EV's where ever you'd like.

392.gif

Infernape (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Same.

598.gif

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Power Whip
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Spikes

Changes from Forrey.

What should I get for my 4th pokemon? Maybe Gliscor? Yes. Fighting resist.

I don't really like Scarfed Infernape's but I'm gonna try it out. As for Gliscor should I go for Bulky Sweeper or Defensive Gliscor?
Lastly, what should I get for my 5th and 6th pokemon?

Defensive. If Ferro is gone you'll still be able to take on Dragons for a bit, with Gliscors high defense.

Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Def / 244 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Swords Dance
- Taunt

And for a special sweeper, and another fighting resist, we have...

Reuniclus (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Def / 252 SAtk
Quiet Nature (+SAtk, -Spd)
- Psyshock
- Trick Room
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

I honestly have no idea how good this team will actually work, but it seems nice. Stall team consisting of Skarm, Ferro, Rotom, and Gliscor. While Infernape & Reuniclis sweep with high speed. The hazards that the stallers set up really help Nape net certain KO's that it's 337 attack stat may not be able to kill. It also has a nice Volt-Turn Synergy with Rotom-w.

Wouldn't Alakazam or Gengar do a better job of sweeping

Wouldn't Alakazam or Gengar do a better job of sweeping

They're both really frail. Reuniclus' is bulky offensive, and with TR up is much more of a threat. Gengar & Alakazam fall to any form of priority. But because of Reuniclus' high HP and moderate defense priority won't be a problem.

So, sweeping, in some forms yes. Being able to sweep a whole team while a Scizor is still around? No. And with SR + Spikes Focus Blast KO'es even Max HP Scizor with no special EV's.

So yeah, Life Orb on Starmie (as soon as you get it).
I would suggest Dugtrio for Stealth Rock and the big Electric weakness (yay, you can have Jellicent!, as well as taking care of the occasional Rock type.
051.gif
@ Focus Sash
Jolly
Arena Trap
252 Attack and Speed
-Earthquake
-Sucker Punch/Stone Edge
-Sucker Punch/Stealth Rock
-Hone Claws/Stealth Rock
Up to you how you go with it, I would just suggest you choose between these moves.
If you want a wall, Jellicent works well. Here's one of the better Jellicent sets:
593.gif
@ Leftovers
Bold
Water Absorb
252 Hp/200 Def/56 Sp. Def
-Scald
-Recover
-Taunt
-Sludge Bomb/Protect
Basic wall. Scald for the STAB chance to Burn, Recover is recover, Taunt is to prevent from being Seeded, poisoned, or Taunted yourself. Sludge Bomb has a 30% chance of poisoning someone, so I like to use that over Toxic, especially if you get Taunted.
You can really go almost any way with Jellicent's EVs.

Thanks, my Jellicent currently has Surf,Recover,Will-o-wisp and Shadow ball. I'll test your version out as well.
Dugtrio looks like a great choice and is one of my favourite pokemon, I didn't know it could use stealth rock. Thanks :)

OK, so here's my currently planned UU team:

Swampert @ Leftovers
Torrent
EVs 128 HP/100 Atk/150 Def/4 Sp. Atk/128 Spe. Def
Brave
-Earthquake
-Ice Beam
-Waterfall
-Stealth Rock

Unusual EV spread allows it to sweep and setup rocks. Brave because Swampert is slow anyway. Ice Beam is for Tangrowth, who otherwise walls this set. The extra 4 Sp. Atk is for a guaranteed OHKO on Tangrowth.

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
EVs 252 ATK/252 Spe/4 HP
Jolly
-U-turn
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Fire Punch
Standard Flygon. I'm using Jolly over Adamant because Speed is Flygon's best asset. Tends to force a lot of switches.

Shaymin @ Leftovers
Natural Cure
EVs 252 Sp. Atk/252 Spe
Timid
-Giga Drain
-Protect
-Earth Power
-Air Slash
Protect allows me to stall for Leftovers recovery. Giga Drain is there for even more recovery and reliable STAB. Earth Power and Air Slash are there for coverage.

Darmanitan @ Life Orb
Magic Guard
EVs 252 ATK/252 Spe
Adamant
-Brick Break
-Flare Blitz
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
This set aims to hit as hard and as fast as possible. Edge is for Flyers and gives this set a nice edgequake combo. Brick Break is there for reliability. Flare Blitz is for STAB and hits Bronzong HARD.

Yeah, this is obviously a noob set. Can anyone please help?

AlexandriaTheMixed

You A Stupid Hoe.
Thanks, do you think that Starmie is fine without a STAB move?

No. Surf, Scald, or Hydro Pump would be the best option. Most likely Scald since he's your Rapid Spinner. I'd also say, stay with Lefties. You don't want to lose 10% because of, basically, a utility move.

I'd also like to say, don't use Dugtrio. Dugtrio's only use is on weather teams that need to trap and KO the other weather starter. That's the ONLY reason he's OU. And even with that, not very high on the ladder. There are much better choices. Even Nidoqueen who's UU is better. It doesn't have 35/50/75 defensive stats. That just stinks. Swampert is another ground type that can set up rocks. And it can take 2 or 3 hits.

Hi guys,

I'm doing one of those tournaments on Smogon where its best of 3 and each round is a different tier. I need help deciding on a sixth pokemon for my UU team. any advice you have or if you spot a weakness I overlooked would be helpful.
Thanks,

You have a weakness to attacks in general. Azelf if frail. Houndoom is VERY frail. Sceptile is frail. They all fall to priority except Azelf to fighting priority. I really recommend getting some type of defensive backbone. Rather that be Registeel of Nidoqueen. Change Azelfs Item. Only having one attacks turns it into much more of a Gimmick than an attack with a CB.

Hey, I'm making a OU offensive team on a deadly sweeper who is actually in UU:

Yanmega@ Choice Specs
Modest | Tinted Lens
252 SpA | 252 Spe | 4 Def
~Air Slash
~Bug Buzz
~U Turn
~Giga Drain/HP Ground

Yes, the mighty Yanmega. Tinted Lens means that you do not want to be hit by a not very effective move. Choice Specs adds on the Pain. Bug Buzz 2HKOs Heatran and Skarmory. We don't need coverage.

Only Problem: We're weak to Stealth Rock.
