I just started playing Emerald about a week ago and then last week my friend lent me his Fire Red. I just beat the Elite Four and am now starting to breed pokes for moves, im waiting for my brother to beat Fire Red, I havent given much thought to EV and IV training or the moods, but heres what I have in mind

Yes, icebeam on tyranitar. He's weak to grass and ground, both of which icebeam covers. Evemn with his special he coul do smoe serious damage. AA is good too. I never thought of that but ice beam is a big help against 'mence other various dragons, jumpluff, and grounds. It's a form of tyraniboah.;004;

shadow flame- you mentioned getting surf on Raichu? In Emerald/Firered?!? i thought that was only in the previous games? and how should i counter heracross? i could switch medicham for espeon?

Charizard is fast enough to outspeed Heracross and OHKO it with Aerial Ace. Surf is obtainable only though the "game," Pokemon Box, which is only for GameCube. It's extremely hard to find though - even HP Ice is easier to get than Surf imo.

thanks, speaking of ;026; Raichu, i just breeded and im trying to hatch the egg, whats a good mood for Raichu? and should I EV/IV train now? im going to train each pokemon one by one till each reaches lvl 50, is that a good idea?

For future reference, it's called "Nature," not "Mood."

And I laid everything out for you except EV's on my Raichu moveset; look there and you'll find the preferred nature.

Yes, it's best to EV train as soon as possible, though it can sometimes be difficult at lower levels...somewhere around Lv. 25 is best imo. And yes, Lv. 50 is a good goal as you can also use them in the Frontier if you ever trade them to Emerald.

Yeah like he said okemon box is the only way. Espeon is good too. You could replace but it's not necessary. I would just keep cham. sorry I didn't reply but I was watching a movie. I hope I helped.;004;

watch out for your tyranitars sandstream as your whole team will be affected by it, you have no gorund/rock/steel types

yeh i wouldnt use tyranitar for that reason as it cancels out leftovers.

Yeah I forgot about that. only use tyranitar as a last resort or get something to cancel out sandstorm A.K.A raquaza, kyogre, ect, ect.

moods...lol...my bad, ooo yes, tyran's sands....hmmm... could switch medicham with metagross? what do you guys think, i have thought of this so im coming up with a moveset for me as we speak

Lapras: 188 HP / 136 Def / 128 SAtk / 56 SDef with Modest

Medicham: 4 HP/ 252 Atk / 252 Spd with Adamant

Tyranitar: 4 HP/ 252 Atk / 252 Spd with Adamant

Raichu: 136 Atk / 148 Spd / 224 SAtk with Hasty

Snorlax: 156 HP / 148 Atk / 136 Def / 68 SDef with Careful

Using Metagross gives you a 3x Ground weak btw.

aragornbird thank you very much! i was wondering, can you trade firered to emerald? cause i was reading some walkthrough at pokemondream.com or net, w.e, BUT it said you have to get the saphire gem to trade to ruby/saph, but what about emerald? just beat the E4?

Yes, you can't trade from FR/LG to Emerald until you beat the Elite 4 and get the National Dex.

ok, so i have bred my team except for medicham, tyranitar, and charizard, BUT here are my 3 pokes and natures... I was wondering if you guys could rate the nature i mean like snorlax is to be careful, but would sassy work? etc...

snorlax /sassy (+special defense,- speed)
immunity

laparas /timid (+speed,-attack)
water absorb

pichu /mild (+special attack,-deffense)
static

Those natures should work fine in the Frontier. Sassy is fine since you don't really expect to outspeed anything with Careful and Curse anyways, Lapras kind of needs the Sp. Atk boost provided by Modest, but Timid can be helpful at times as well. And with Thunder Wave/Agility, one doesn't really need Hasty, though it's best for a reason. Mild should work decently for a boost for Thunderbolt at the very least.
