Team Plans in General

My team currently stands at:

Crobat
Heracross
Misdreavus
Mamoswine
And the 6th member is my first shiny; a Lunatone.

But I've just got into Kanto and want to breed a proper team to take advantage of the high level trainers which will consist of:

Kabutops
Poliwrath
Toxicroak
Gallade
Gliscor
And Froslass

Well I don't have it yet but hopefully I will in a few weeks. I have said ever since Diamond was announced that I wasn't going to plan a team and I always ended up with one I planned :/. This time I am really going to try not to and just go with the flow as I never played gold/silver. I am getting SoulSilver. I will think about what starter I get and it's relevance to the gyms. If anyone can help with that it will be appreciated.

For my SoulSilver team I plan to have Feraligatr, Noctowl, Victreebel/Meganium, Pikachu, and Houndoom. I can't think of a good sixth member though. Anyone have any suggestions? Preferably not Mamoswine either since I used it in HeartGold.

I'm thinking of switching out my Feraligatr for an Electric Pokémon, but I'm not sure yet. In any case, this will probably be my team. It's for InGame only anyway, so I don't actually need all those Blisseys and Metagross's.

Right, my team as it stands and present moves.

Typhlosion - Sunny Day, Solarbeam, Eruption and Blast Burn.
Quagsire - Yawn, Blizzard, Surf and Earthquake.
Primeape - Cross Chop, Close Combat, Rock Climb. (Did also have stength but had it deleted and not decided what move to teach it.)

Ampharos -Discharge, Thunder, Power Gem and Signal Beam
Tyranitar - Crunch, Dark Pulse, Earthquake and Stone Edge.
Mewtwo. - Psychic, Psycho Cut, Blizzard and Focus Blast.

I did have a high level Pidgeot but I'm levelling up a second one that has been bred with Brave Bird. I've also a pikachu with Volt tackle, having nicked a Light Ball using Thief from Red's Pikachu

as you can see i am a bit biased towards the flying type. will have 4 part flying once dragonair evolves
