Team Plans in General

im getting both games i just haven't decided which twelve get to be on my two teams! here are my options to choose from:

venomoth, ariados, dewgong, typhlosion, feraligator, ampharous, or however u spell that, sandslash, beedrill, tryanitar, rapidash, espeon, lanturn, heracross, arcanine, and corsola. any suggestions? (dont mention competitive battling stats tho i rele couldn't care less)

For my first playthrough on my Japanese Heartgold, I'm just going with Quilava/Ampharos/Espeon and a few HM Slaves for a quick runthrough of the game and its mechanics. My English SoulSilver Team is in my siggy.

I am torn.

Tangrowth is in this game. ;_; I don't know whether to raise an Oddish like I had always wanted to, or to raise a Tangela, since it's stronger. I suppose it won't matter once I get Bulbasaur; and if not Bulbasaur, I'll get Treecko.

For a fire type, Growlithe. Strongest out of Growlithe, Vulpix, and Houdour, and also a personal favorite. However, I may want to get my hands on a Chimchar...

Water type will be my starter, Totodile. Done deal.

For a flying type, I might go with a regional bird, but at the same time, I want to raise a Togepi again. By the time I'll be able to fly, Togepi will have become a Togetic.

Now, choices, choices... I want to raise a Gligar again, along with a Miltank. I may end up with both of those... but I also wanted a Phanpy. Maybe a Butterfree for nostalgia's sake...

Plus, once I get to Kanto, I'll be raising the Suicune, just like in Crystal.

I honestly don't know what my teams will be, but it'll probably end up being something like this:

That looks like a pretty good team if I do say so myself. Only thing that looks sort of... off is Elekid, but the only reason I don't want to evolve him is that I want my team to be fully Johto, and Elekid is one of my fave pokémon of all time.

It should also be added that there's a pretty good half-n-half split between people in this fandom that use the version legendary and people who don't bother with legends at all. Add that with the people who only use what they like, and well... Actually, what IS a good estimate for the various stereotypes in this fandom?

tl;dr There's still a good chunk of people in this fandom that use legendaries in-game, though I haven't a clue if they use them after the in-game course, or what.

Btw I'm actually thinkin' about changing my team to somethin' that I could catch in-game, instead of breeding Eggs and using that for my team. So... Yeah, I'm goin' to have to decide whether to cheat for a team, or torture myself for a team, all before Hg/Ss' release in the US. Hooray for pessimism and nihilism. ;^^
